I like the S symbol of hope. This backstory of him wearing tights and a big 'S' because his mom thinks he's special is lame. He's even wearing his red underwear on the outside because of... mom.
I always liked the idea of Krypton's destruction being from another power.... Like, maybe Darkseid saw the Kryptonians as a threat, and had Krypton destroyed to eliminate the threat.... I ALSO like the idea that Clark's ship took a LOOOONNNNGG time to get to Earth..... Thousands of years, if not more..... By the time his ship arrives, with him in stasis, Krypton is long gone.... This version is pretty close to that, with Clark and his parents having almost no knowledge of his origins. He knows he's from.... somewhere.... The suit probably should be from Krypton, so it's not being destroyed all the time.
John Coe I always liked the concept that brainiac played a role in the destruction of krypton. Like, after he bottled kandor, krypton started to fall apart (figuratively)
My favorite is the origin from Superman: The Animated Series. That version had Brainiac created by the Kryptonians and they had become far too reliant on him and that’s why they refused to listen to Jor-El’s warnings about the coming apocalypse since Brainiac said all was well...but he was lying because he didn’t want to waste his time trying to save Krypton and instead wanted to leave Krypton to explore the galaxy

Watching this made me think twice of how I see Man of Steel, especially now that I know where it is based. At first, I didn't liked it that much because it was very different from what I've used to see, I was naive about anything about comics way back then. But now, I think they've actually did a good job with it. Sadly, most of us never knew where it is based that's why we never understood why it is like that way back then.
I love this comment so much. So many have made up their minds about MoS because of what pop culture has made us believe in these characters. Very few have actually read some of the more interesting stories of them. There is a lot of MoS in this and vice versa. An imperfect Superman is such a good story but so many only knew what they knew from cartoons and old movies and not from really great stories like this one.

I love how this gets superman right. He can think at the speed of light and also he's 100 times more intelligent than the average human. They always make Batman the smartest one, but Clark's physiology is supposed to (in continuity) enables him to use 100% of his brain at all times. Humans only use 10% of our brains at one time. So technically Clark should be the smartest person in the dcu or at least in the justice league.

Greg Young not quite, key difference are the meaning of the S and clarks parents view point on how Clark should use his powers. The change to the S was overall meaningless in the film since the S was always a beacon of hope without it being of kryptonian origin, the change felt too on the nose about the meaning and a lot of "ooh aliens". The view points of the Kents is vastly different in the film, they were against Clark using his powers and gave pretty shoddy advice. Both these changes gave Man of Steel are darker tone whilst this was filled to the brim with hope.
I think it would be good to do all of the trinity #1's first (batman/superman/wonderwoman) then do Teen Titans #1, then go back through and do vol. 2 of all of them
Ultimate Quicksilver well, Alex is kind of a canon DC character since Prototype tie in comicbook was printed by DC. Maybe author referenced it or maybe just liked the look. Since devs killed he franchise on the rise with second "game" and Activision decided to forget it ever existed instead of repairing this mess, we'll never know.
TheArklyte not really. It's Wild Storm and even though they have DC as their main name the characters are currently in different universe from DC heroes. And that aside, games and other franchises that were adapted into comics are only written under their names, but not even relevant to the universe of that comics (DC, Marvel, Archie, etc) at whole. Sure, there are cases of crossovers but they are never canon.
Sharil Shahed and yet New York is now one of locations confirmed in DC(even though I have no idea how they fit Gotham and Metropolis right next to it and what would a summed pops of such an aglomeration even be) thanks to Harley living there. So who knows "what could have been" had the devs not f//cked up and the series had still been going strong... though there is one thing that goes against all traditions of comicbooks. Prototype has a set date, 2008. Meanwhile all other comics can happen anywhere from 1940's to 2040's and beyond. As well as many other trouble:\

NightHawk92 I can see some people having theories about the similar faces, it would be cool if they pulled some death note-esk stuff where the military was investigating Clark Kent and Clark has to make convoluted strategies to deceive them
Greg Young not quite, key difference are the meaning of the S and clarks parents view point on how Clark should use his powers. The change to the S was overall meaningless in the film since the S was always a beacon of hope without it being of kryptonian origin, the change felt too on the nose about the meaning and a lot of "ooh aliens". The view points of the Kents is vastly different in the film, they were against Clark using his powers and gave pretty shoddy advice. Both these changes gave Man of Steel are darker tone whilst this was filled to the brim with hope.
Phantasm Films Critics would then criticize it for introducing new villan with weak reasoning and background which it is.

I think it would be good to do all of the trinity #1's first (batman/superman/wonderwoman) then do Teen Titans #1, then go back through and do vol. 2 of all of them

well, Alex is kind of a canon DC character since Prototype tie in comicbook was printed by DC. Maybe author referenced it or maybe just liked the look. Since devs killed he franchise on the rise with second "game" and Activision decided to forget it ever existed instead of repairing this mess, we'll never know.
TheArklyte not really. It's Wild Storm and even though they have DC as their main name the characters are currently in different universe from DC heroes.
And that aside, games and other franchises that were adapted into comics are only written under their names, but not even relevant to the universe of that comics (DC, Marvel, Archie, etc) at whole.
Sure, there are cases of crossovers but they are never canon.
