For informational purposes if you have a lock on a tow hitch that has no key. You can take a pipe slide it on the lock side and pull and it will sheer the smaller shank of the lock. Only use for emergency purposes!!

I flat tow a 1990 Geo Tracker behind a 18 foot trailer with 1981 LUV on it behind 1999 GMC Suburban 3500, pulls great at 60 mph, I permanently attached tow lights on Geo to make wiring a little easier since it's a stripped down trail rig
I have the same style Roadmaster towbar mount on my Land Rover Discovery. I beefed it up and it has a winch plate for a hidden winch mount behind the bumper and in the winter has a 6.5' customized old Western snowplow mount on it. I also added a lower mounting brackets for the under part of the plow mount.

And this is why you don’t use locking hitch pins. If you were up in the rust belt you wouldn’t get that pin unlocked even with the key after the first snow storm, and you wouldn’t have been able to get the hitch out of the receiver after a couple years of it being in there.
@@thedirtheadshed Yeah cant say I blame you. Although it gives a good excuse to build some nicely tucked rock sliders if you have to cut out and replace the rocker panels anyway.
My 02 tracker is like the poor man's 2 door version of that thing, came with a tow kit that besides the towing arms, it also had a bull bar that could be installed in the mount pockets. It's pretty solid too. Been considering adding a little more steel and mounting a smediumish winch sized for like a sxs since my little 2 door is so light. Have a question for you, I've been thinking about lifting this thing and have wondered if you have ever used a heavy duty cv axle as a driveshaft before? Since my tracker has so little distance between the transfer case and the axles (severe angle), I was thinking of ordering some custom cv's that people have made for their drag cars that pump out like 1500hp. I feel like even a modified rear cv from an expedition or armada would probably do. Thoughts?
