The Becker BK2 has always been one of my favourite knives. A literal crowbar with an edge. I loved it not for it's practicality but for it's indestructibility. The fact it puts a smile on your face when holding it. But what if you gave the BK2 a super steel!? That's exactly what Ka-bar and Knives and tools did! Meet the Ka-bar Becker BK72! The beast is back on steroids! So how does it perform? Check out our episode today!

DBK still the most consistent thing in my life after literal years of following you guys
We are honoured! Thank you so much
If this is the most consistent thing in your life you may need to work on your basic eating, sleeping and pooping habits 😬
Thank God for DBK man. Hope you guys stick around.
If ka-bar introduce all their becker series with upgraded steel, they will sell like hot cakes in no time
You see the bk16 they did in magnacut?
We could never be mad at you guys, we love you guys👍 Great video. DBK is awesome 😎
Great knife testing video again! Thanks guys. It's actually good, that you showed its limits!
I Love your content. Thanks for the honesty on performance. Hilarious showmanship.
The fact that the outdoorsy dad is the same guy who could drink salt water from the damn ocean (Or Licorice Salty Candy), seems to fit 😅😅
Great video guys!!
You guys are beasts regarding entertainment, knowledge and production quality!
You've shown us using your awesome ways (please never change) how both the becker bk2 and bk72 are beasts regarding their field capability. I wish i could afford either. 😁
Please give the videos coming!
A more than proven veteran knife with an improvement in what the blade material is, avoiding periodic maintenance as well as prolonged sharpening, an interesting example in another type of steel.
Knife to consider in the next purchase excellent review a big hug from Mexico City
When you shot it, you made it look like half the knives you were giving away! Ha! Thanks!
Just bought the DLC version of the BK72 after watching this video and your other one on the Esee 4 this morning. Was leaning the other way until I watched both videos and thank God I did. Just received the invoice email from knivesandtools and now the wait begins! Thanks for the awesome videos DBK Boys. Much love from Washington State 🤙🏼
Definitely looks like one for the collection. I love this channel sm
A big upgrade of every aspect from the original. Steel, coating, handle material, sheath and of course the price as well.
Stay safe guys I know I might sound a bit obnoxious but wear your eye pro, it only takes one wood or metal fragment. After all you only get one pair, anyways guys stay safe, live long, stay strong, stay chill
Hands down this is my favorite test/review. Keep kicking ass DBK!
Cheers lads love the content, and yes very impressed that Becker finally used a super steel
Essee makes their knives in S35VN now too, it would be cool to see you guys do a comparison video.
yes we'd definitely like to!
Yep, and ESEE themselves do not trust their s35vn knives, they feel it is inferior to their 1095 knives. It is, because s35vn is pocket knife steel, not survival knife steel. It breaks before it bends.
@@marty1685 most stainless does
@@tacticalcenter8658 No, most steels that are hardened above 58 hrc do. 420HC is much stronger than S35VN. Would rather have a survival knife in 420HC or 1095 than S35VN. Would rather edc S35VN. Different materials different jobs, one is not all around better than the other. When you put pocket knife steel on a survival knife, you are making an inferior survival knife. The only reason ESEE uses S35VN is market demand from people who don’t understand their knives and think they need some sort of “premium” steel. 1095 is the premium steel on a survival knife, not s35vn.
Even ESEE considers S35VN a downgrade from 1095 on survival knives:
Message from the owners of ESEE Knives:
While we offer the exact same warranty on S35V as the rest of our line, we do not suggest the ESEE-3 S35V as a hard-use outdoor knife. These knives are hardened at the optimal 59-60 Rc. Its ability to take abuse is not even close to our ESEE-3 1095 models. The only reason we produced this model is due to the request of our customer base - not because it’s something the ESEE crew would carry or trust their life to. In our opinion, what you gain with such a premium steel in edge-holding and stain resistance does not justify the extra cost. Not to mention its inability to take the abuse that our regular knives are capable of.
Thanks for keeping me entertained on my flight back to the US from my vacation in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Love having TH-cam premium and being able to download your videos onto my tablet.
Every new video puts a smile on my face.
Love all the dad energy. Awesome dudes!
I just started to get into knives and sharping them, this channel has alot of great information!
I have a bk2 i love. Have neved used it but i like to play with it. It is in my emergency truck kit. I have never had an emergency.
I’ve never clicked “LIKE” 👍🏼 so fast on a knife vid before !!
Thanks DBK guys for another nice video. Last week my eye fell on the 2 versions in the showroom of knivesandtools, 2 nice versions to see. Too bad the sheath is not a symmetrical sandwich sheath with belt loop. Apart from that, it is nice that they finally mount a micarta handle scales directly. Great, keep it up!
I build primitive bows and I prefer the BK9 for it’s length and weight. I do keep a fresh BK2 in my day pack. By far, THE best sub 7” blade out their for the price point.
I love the channel enjoyed the video and do respect you guys for coming around on the shooting test not being an indicator of quality because it really isn't it's more of a brittleness test for the steel, unless you're out there trying to deflect bullets with your knife like in anime it's a very outlandish scenario.
Just found your channel, have to say my favorite now! Love the content!
Well done, men. Very entertaining and informative. That could be a finger choil you shot into the blade
Kudos to the inventors of S30V and S35VN steel.
Well i am happy with my old BK2. I have no problem with some, occasional, maintainance. I like to tinker with my favorite toys. Keep that brittle "super steel".
1095 is pretty brittle too
@@mariaconcepcionrodriguezhe2850 Not much in the BK2 and look at the cost too. Keep that "super steel".
I am going to get one being a Beckerhead myself. Thanks for showing and reviewing. Obviously, the knife was not created to be a shooting target. It passed all the other tests quite well. First and foremost is the total integrity of the knife and could you depend on it with your life. Based on what I have seen, the answer is yes. The knife is a real beast, not a fake one ! A friend always !
Nail on the head brother!
I've seen AR 500 armor plate that can't stand up to extended rifle shots. One of the major tests for a pressure vessel like a pressurized tank is an impact test at low temperature. There are many steels that can't handle low temp impact tests.
Knives are not really designed to be heavily impacted an a regular basis.....
I'd love to see this done to the BK9... i beat up and love my BK9 in 1095... a high quality stainless upgrade would be awesome!
we were looking forward to this test dudes!!
Thank you for pushing it!
OMG THE BEAST IS UPGRADED!
Good review!
Hahaha yes you two might just have found it’s weakness 😂 But that’s why we love you two lunatics not forgetting the laughs you give us as well mind! Have a cracking week till the next one lads🫵🏻😘👍🏼
That drop point! My type of blade
Thanks For Another Great Review 😎
Dude you're always hilarious, love your channel for a long time up until now. Actually i bought the bk2 back then because watching your video
Thank you so much man 💪🔥
I can't wait to see JoeX get ahold of one of these.
Against stones it will break fast with s35vn.
MUST HAVE!
Love Y’all 😊
Dam this knife is good. I learn a lot by watching your videos
But it looks nice, and certainly good enough for most outdoor activity.. Goeie video gasten!
You had me cracking up. Good video as usual.
Shrpen that radius up, perfect for fire starting new desighn feature by DBK. Happy Trails
no problem that will buff out just fine.
hahahaha
Really cool my brother
So gréât knife .
Great video. Thank you!
You are two wild and crazy guys 😅
PPPLEASE show us a picture of the knife after you rework it!! What a great upgrade.
Cheers lads.
Great video.
You guys should definitely check out the Svord Von Tempsky 11 inch blade model. Looks like an absolute no-nonsense beast! JoeX put it through quite the ringer
Always on point.
😲this has to be your best giveaway yet. i've never wished I could afford it more
My next blade for sure. Love the dragon ball music in the background btw, RIP Toriyama!
Love the channel! Now you can use the BK2 edge to scrape a round ferro rod!😂
Looks I'll be driving 2 hrs to their shop here in NY.
I was hoping it was going to be 3V or magnacut
Glad you guys incorporated your trademark slapstick humor in the video again. I was beginning to miss it. Nice video. Sorry about the knife.😁
I actually kinda like this new BK2 with the wire stripper cut-out.
You guys are Awesome!! Always fun too watch and soooo glad that you fellows made that knife cry , cry like a little, something, 😅😅😅. Nice Job on video and keep kicking ass!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🪓🔪👍👍
Those shots turned it into the BK 2 tracker model.
Great video guys. Keep it up. Greetings from a new subscriber
You know what they say; “Don’t bring a knife to a gunfight” 😉😜
But it still looks like a great knife. I like the s35v steel a lot. Keeps a good edge.
I just purchased the cold steel AD10 with the same steel. Marvellous.
Now I would like to experience the great DBK-knife 😉
Sweet knife .... great vid
Thank you! I asked for this last video haha
DBK..make my day...U are awesome :)
I'm late to the Wodan Boys party but Thunder Glove is a banger!!! Nice work Mikkie
Never mad when you push as far as you do. We need to know those limits.
I must be spoiled with all the super steel knives I’ve owned. I was hoping they’d use Magnacut or 3V!
Restoring it would be another great video
Hell yeah! BK
Would love to see you compare an original bk-2 knife before they were make by Becker. The mark 1 model that’s thinner and doesn’t have the weight reduction in the handle.
It'a a perfect beast!
Excelente!! Depois Desse Teste De Vocês, Se O Joe X Pegar Essa BK72, Na Mão Dele Não Vai Dar Dois Minutos De Vídeo 😅😅😅😅
You added an instant finger choiil!
A wonderful test! ❤
... it's just a pity that the TRC Mille Cuori knife was not tested in this way as well (Vanadis 4 extra steel !!!)
I love your videos guys! I abuse my knives without hesitation. I believe that bushcraft/survival knives are not ment to be kept in mint condition. Ka-bar Becker BK72 looks great but have you ever tried Reiff F6? That is my go to survival knife that can do it all and will even cut brick :)
Why S35VN... So much better stuff out there these days...
Great video as always guys. 🎉
Top knife, is buy one.👍👍
I got my esee 3 and 4 in s35vn. They're pretty nice
My 3V Bravo 2 is my batonning beast. 😎
Now you have a really nice dowel maker.
Absolute Bloody Legends :-)
Make a non coated BK- 2 in Magnacut with a saber grind and a 90 degree spine. The ultimate in toughness, edge holding, rust resistance, ect. That would be a bad ass knife right there. S35vn is nice for cutting, but 1095 kicks its ass in toughness, but Magnacut is tougher then A1, so that would be a beast!
Finally I can’t believe it took them this long With The love and support behind the bk2 a new steel variant is long overdue 😳
Maybe should have been 3v
Can you test out kabar becker bk 18?
U guys must have a microphone in my bushcraft kit 😅 I was talking to a friend about the bk 2!
13:34 The 1095CV and the S35VN version of this knife are actually both 58 HRC.
I thought you have had an aging filter on marten! Awesome!
hahaha
BK2 is still the ultimate beast without bullet proof best!
All good lads people pay good money to have Veff serrations added to their blades
And just 3 times more the original price ! A jewel to play in the garden for daddy's boys...
I have a BK7 and a BK9 and they are awesome. Admittedly the BK7 is my favorite because the 9 is really too big to carry around on your belt and the 7 is pretty much perfect.
If they made an S35V BK7.... actually, please don't because I can't afford it. Oh and sheath thing boggles the mind. They should have at least included a Tek-lok or something.
Well for the sheath: one guy wants a TekLok, then then next one wants a MOLLE lok, and the third one will chuck it in a backpack and wont worry about a clip. So I get it they leave it to the user to choose.
would be great if becker did the same with bk7 and bk9, I think it would be really great 👍
Grind out the chip and profile the edge to make a BEAST paring knife :)
