Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful partner Mariana for eight years now.
Together Mariana, my father Clinton and myself, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!

what if you would like to demolish this ruin and build something modern and bigger size?
That would be a question for an architect, things like that are case by case basis so an architect will need to say exactly what would be allowed to build there if not sticking to the current footprint

Hi, does the property have a habitation license and any idea on rough costs for renovation of ruin to a basic liveable standard?
Hello! Yes, the property can be lived in. Based on previous rebuilds we have helped with I think you would be looking at around 30,000 euros for a rebuild with our recommended builders. This would include floors, walls, a roof, electrics, plumbing, a bathroom, insulation etc.
How about the septic tank? Can we built a new one?
Yes a septic can be easily installed, there are a couple of styles of septics here, the one we usually recommend costs around €600 / €800

Please try this tip out: When you’ve got bright sky’s please tilt your camera down towards the ground thereby reducing the brightness coming from the sky and turning everything very dark. It would be nice to see the subject and less of the sky. - Thank you.
