- Some things are worth running beyond what the usual schedule calls for, and this is one of them. The Rapido Trains H1a and H1b Hudsons are on their way into the greater model railroading world, and this includes a special edition of locomotive #2816, 'The Empress.' Join me on the workbench while we take a glance at the detail and overall appearnce of these new models. I will have a follow-up video of the locomotive in action coming soon, ideally before the week is out.
I pre-ordered my model, AND I got a chance to see her in Calgary during the first days of her Final Spike Steam Tour this year!
Holy smokes, 2816 has some presence. That is one of the most visually stunning steam locomotives I have seen in HO scale. Looking forward to seeing her run!
Absolutely stunning!
O hell yeah. That's my favorite steam locomotive.
Awesome modeltrain 👍👍👍👍👍🚂
Good Job. 👍🏼
Both the model and the real thing are visually stunning. And the 2816 paint scheme is GORGEOUS. I have the 2816 in HO scale brass from Van Hobbies, but, it's unpainted. I am looking for a reputable, professional model painter to paint my 2816 steam Locomotive. Even though it's unpainted, it's still pleasing to the eyes. ☝️ 👀
All Brass Backshop. They’re really great with brass!
Thanks for that info. I'll definitely check it out.
I can’t wait for mine to come in! One question, does the book have any instructions on accessing the decoder? I’m looking to see if it’s in the engine or tender.
Impatiently waiting for mine from trainworld and watching the tracking info every other hour 😬🙈
I feel that. I was doing pretty much the same thing when mine was in the mail.
Since the model is out. I wonder if any one with do a double header with 2816 with royal Hudson 2860. Seeing both of the of these engine when I watching TH-cam videos of these engine running. How come now on thought of have these two engines( when 1860 was still in operation) had a doubleheader in real life .Or they’ve done one already in the past. Still bugs me that question,
I would love to get one! But it is way too damn expensive!
Is the tender easy to separate from the locomotive?
Just as easy to separate is it is to join. Just make sure you have a good grip without grabbing any details and they separate with a firm tug. No trouble at all.
