One of the most difficult questions of our time. Chemical agriculture produces much more food than organic farming, but eventually destroys the land and biodiversity. If the whole world were to turn to organic farming, we would produce around 50% of the food we do today with our current extensive use of chemicals and monoculture farming. So here are 2 questions. See if you can answer them. 1, What will be the eventual result of poisoning our farmland with chemicals ? 2. If we turned completely to organic farming, what would you do about the four thousand million people that we cannot feed any more ? One of the most difficult questions of our time.
Good two questions Mark. I have an upcoming webinar on Organic Agriculture - which is on JADAM Ultra Low Cost Farming Technology. You can register and see the flyer through this google form: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd59IQyZN7Ti5y0mKPg4UaVIkRVIfe1Z1B0RIfZmOAh8KSJNg/viewform?usp=pp_url
Low yields!!!, what are you talking about, producing crops organically or should i say getting the biodiversity and life back in to the soil creates bigger yields, better tasting and more nutrient containing food. You need to study up on Soil microbiology and the process of the soil food web.
It gives lower yields because organic farming has no proper defense against pests and pathogens. It has nothing to do with the soil quality and everything to do with the fact your soil can be the most fertile in the world but your yields are gonna be lower if you have no defense against bugs and disease.
There are three types of farming 1.)chemical.2.)organic. 3.)natural former two are invented by Western money minded buisiness people to loot farmers in either ways,on other hand farming which was practiced traditionally did not require any external fertilisers,no pesticides cause the soil( mother nature) was healthy and chemical free,no compost,no soil enrichers,no added micro nutrients ,so basically nothing purchasing from the market,so selfish people came up with chemical farming and now as people are realising harms of chemicals the same people have invented a new term as organic farming to keep the game on,and keep looting the farmers.Farming by laws of nature ,without polluting the soil,by gowing intercrops and friendly bugs and insects to keep pests under control, with zero inputs and growing outputs is possible to learn more about this search for videos of Mr subhash palekar on TH-cam if u encounter language problem and u want written data contact me on 9869640573.
I tolerated the 2 billion population comment but stopped watching at "[Organic fertilsers are] smelly and more difficult to apply." Pure propaganda video this.
No we need to grow our own food and not depend on someone else growing poisons for us to eat so we can be sent to their doctors for their drugs. You know they call themselves the FDA and AMA.
I like this video, but that is not true that organic farming is expensive and yields less. Organic isn't expensive! Watch this on TH-cam: Why Is Organic Food So *#@! Expensive?
Please make a video about veganism, if we stop using human consumable foods for energy and farm animals we would have plenty of food. It would be humanity achiving world wide fed population! Regards, and thanks a lot for making the videos!
Been talking to a farmer tonight who says that cattle feed is largely made of stuff people can't/don't eat. And in the UK they get most of their food off grass which humans can't digest.
No it won't. Before we start, both organic and non-organic farmers use slurry (animal manure and urine) to spread on their crops; it's not just an organic farming solution. It is a fertiliser, which returns nutrients to the ground - rather than the slurry going to landfill and valuable nutrients lost. Don't think of the plants taking up manure as the brown liquid/solid that the animal excretes. The slurry is broken down into it's individual components, and the crops just take up the nutrients that they need from it, such as Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. Does that help?
