Hi David, thanks for your great videos, you and I are like minded souls, your memories are my memories although my craft was a konsort. You have reminded me of great sailing trips so similar to yours, sadly I do not sail anymore. Thank you
😂that’s my sons name so I won’t take offence! I’m not sure how many more years sailing I have in me. At 73 I’m beginning to be aware of my limitations. I’ll be posting some footage of my mostly singlehanded sailing to Southern Ireland in due course - hope you enjoy that as well.
I was launched just before Storm Kathleen. Unfortunately, my Fulmar was damaged and the boatyard had to lift her again and repair the damage. Finally back in on Thursday and down to the mooring in Poole Harbour this morning. Looking forward to following your adventures in 2024.
Well done Derek. My Konsort was swinging in the slings the other week, always a nervous time! I'm hoping for a shackdown sail this afternoon with fair tide and winds...just could be a little warmer for May 4th! Good luck with your plans for this year.

Marvellous! Best wishes from Plymouth. Hope to see you out there! James
I hope so too! We may just be ships passing in the night!

Ouch that was unfortunate - now I count myself lucky the boatyard managed our launch ok. Glad you are on the water at last.

Yes gentle breezes here today! But I see the sun! Have a good sail!
I’m thrilled you are heading to Ireland. I’m hoping to do that next year. My family come from Galway and Mayo. I’ll be watching closely!
Hi Kate, if I’m lucky with the weather I might make it to Galway but all the way up that coast looks gorgeous!
@@derekhathaway I think you need to be very self reliant as there aren’t much in the way of facilities. Extra fuel and water maybe?
Very true - mostly anchorages beyond Dingle so looking for fair winds for sailing and lots of water on board!
Sorry Derek I've called you david
