Class mate, Personnel preference, A little tip mate. You don't need 5ft of wire trace when you are fishing above the Tope. Half of that will do. With a good length of Shockleader.
Just subscribed to your channel. Flicked through a few of your previous films and love the no nonsense content you are creating. Have had a kayak for a while now but never used for fishing. So will be come spring time. Very interested in the bait dispenser build ATB Pete
Cracking day, very informative video and certainly inspires folks to give Luce Bay a try. That Bass was a bonus, you deserved that one. Also, I like the home made bait dispenser- a how to vid would be good. Cheers Mate
Just back from camping and fishing in Stranraer couldn’t get on the beach at Luce bay for the rock sands of Luce was heaving with people sunbathing ended up at port William of the pier 3 flounder 1 wrasse and a dogfish over 2 days
Another great video bud ,and finally down the mull my fav place for fishing ,the next bay down east tarbet is better for lure fishing espec for pollack
Hi J, yes finally got down there, since I’ve put the video up and put some pictures on FB the reports back about the whole area just get better and better. There’s so many places to try and such a variety off species to try and catch. Who needs Cornwall 🤣🤣
@@PiscatorUK-Fishing yeah defo a bit of everything down there ,ive never blanked down the mull plus there’s no midges down there which is half the reason I go there lol as I stay for a couple of days usually
Cheers Ally, had a great day and so glad I was catching other species while at anchor waiting for that Tope that unfortunately didn’t show up. The bass was a Brucy bonus which made my day and good to catch other species that I’ve never caught before. Thanks for watching mate👍
Gutted you didn't get that tope Dougie, it'll just make you want to go back there for round 2 no doubt. Plenty of other species to keep you busy all the same. Enjoyable upload 👌
Cheers mate, aye itching to get back there, not just for the tope mate, there’s loads of other species I’ve not caught before. Smoothhound, bull huss, someone just told me there’s black bream there. Brilliant place to go, I’ve just not got a clew yet for certain marks or hot spots.
Well done. Loads of species in the rhins of Galloway. My old hunting ground. I've never caught a tope either and I'm from Stranraer mind you I've not really targeted them before.
Considering you haven't caught a tope before your tackle and technique was spot on, I've caught plenty of tope in my time to over 70lb, unlucky on the tope but try again mate when you get one it's worth while 💪👍 P.S maybe consider using circle hooks for the tope, great vid 👍
Cheers for watching and the feedback very much appreciated, funny you should mention the circle hooks as I was using 4/0 circles on the smaller setup for the rays. Got home and ordered some 8/0 circles, will they be big enough?
@@PiscatorUK-Fishing I keep the barb but use a long heavy duty T bar for unhooking and just unhook them at the side off the yak. You could easily make one if you didn't want to buy one 👍

I see you had a cracking time there, just like we did recently... Shame there wasn't any Tope though. Hopefully next time for you. The thing we learned there, was to try and fish the tide from either half way of each flow. Or from low water to high water, as the launch over them rocks was a killer for us!
@@PiscatorUK-Fishing Yeah we launched Ardwell. Dead easy when the tide was in, but when out, it was one hell of a hike dodging the rocks and boulders before reaching the ramp...!

Hi Rob, loads of good fishing on the east coast mate. From St Abbs all the way north. I’ve had a few good trips launching at Torness power station. The beach at Dubar can be good too for flounder, bass and Turbot
Hello Alan, cheers for the question, I think I will need to do a short tutorial on that sometime soon, I’ve had a few requests now. It’s effectively one piece of pvc pipe cut into two lengths. The outside section has a bit cut out which enables the other section to fit inside. It has a small nut and bolt that goes from the outside section to the inside section which stops the inside section dropping out. The nose cone from a spray bottle is optional. Pipe diameter is also optional but I think the one on the video is 60mm
