I enjoy the content of your videos. I have not added comments to any videos in the past. But I wish to say that in over 5+ decades, I've never had a cat that enjoyed having their "britches" petted or groomed, even those cats I have hand raised since their 2nd or 3rd day of life. My current fur baby is one of three 2-3 day old infants I took from their feral mom; I wanted to have a better life than living as feral cats. I found homes for two of them, but I was able to keep the black and white tuxedo baby. I fed all 3 kittens every 2 hours for the first several weeks before I added another hour between each feeding.
This is a long, wordy comment simply to try to explain I am very experienced in caring for my cats. As a general rule, few of my cats ever enjoyed being petted or touched below their tails, although all of them tolerated it. I think this area is too close to their tummies.

My wife and I have always had "rescued kitties" and they are always female for some reason. We have had a max of 7 and now have 4. We care for them greatly and they are loved and spoiled rotten. We also have a 2 story house with a full basement for them as not to be crowded. We always consider them to be daughters and get SO much enjoyment out of ever one of them!

I'm on my second formerly feral kitty. She knows she loved. She goes outside bringing in grocery? Closing the door. She races back inside. She came in for the winter? I'm not leaving. You can't make me. Took months. Now cuddle..occasionally.
Sometimes I think it's hard to show my cats love because one cat of mine smacks my brother and sometimes me🤣 but she shows love and her personality is like the sour patch candy
So yes, you have to love the heck out of her☺️

@@elizabethoneill8612 I always refer to her as her nickname: "Boohoo" because she always whines when someone isnt playing with her. And she even responds to the nickname as well, which is pretty funny, I think the family spoiled her too much😂
Perhaps, to your cat, the batting is part of the “game” you’re playing.

When my cat Tiger-J uses his scratch pad,I say "Good boy! Good kitty!" I say that in a high voice. I also blink slowly.

It's hard to read our furry friends moods sometimes, but body language is really worth paying attention to. My cat doesn't like to be held very long, so when he starts to push away, I put him down. He's realized over the years that I'm not going to hold on to him if he doesn't want it.
Another thing I do, instead of licking him (I tried it once, I agree, don't try it lol! Cat fur sticks to tongues 😜) I use my nose and rub the top of his head. He thinks I'm licking him, and he purrs extra loud when I do it.
As always, depends on the cat for sure. Mine is extra cuddly and loving. 🥰

What kind of puzzles would you recommend? I have one extremely intelligent & smart Ricky who needs to be challenged. I use the "squeeze ups." Ricky understands the language such as "outing" "food" etc. He is so smart & Ricky licks me. I have been dealing with cats for over 30 years, but the ferals are challenging to slowly trust me. During the summer months, they just want to stay outside overnight & come late day for wet food or kibble. There's a new male here where I rent. I have no relationship with this one. Where he came from is a mystery

My cat loves having her belly rubbed. Weird I know. She does have her boundaries however
It's not so weird. If they lie back and lift the front legs it means "rub my belly". Nothing too new.
I have 5 cats from two separate litters. The older two will occasionally show the belly and request a gentle short rub. The three new kittens are mad for tummies! They act almost like I'm giving them cat nip! I guess it all depends

I have three ferals & one 2 year old kitten from one feral I've come to realize that I'm fine with just the two year old bcz when the others are not around, Ricky comes to snuggle on my bed. The others come/go. I'm exhausted from care taking...as I have others house less that I feed. I'm a senior with issues & this crazy food schedule (I give them canned food) at all hours when they present themselves. Thanks for this information video!!! ❤️🙏🌹
I think the big thing is realizing that a cat is not a human being. Your cat is not mad at you if it walks away from you because it's not interested at that moment. Cat got a mission ..it's on its way to plot with all the other cats on how to take over the world. I
I see a lot of people taking videos of their cat expecting human behavioral responses. The cat does not appreciate the camera in his face. It does not want to be a TH-cam star. It wants to love another human and other cats and dominate its territory. That is their world.and wondering whether the Cat wants to scratch their face off.. yes. Your cat wants to scratch your face off.
Your kitty cat only needs one LIKE And one SAVE . And that is you.
OK One of my bozos just jumped up here next to the iPad with that look of 'hey put on some music ...it's time to snuggle.' And you never argue (and win) with the masters of the universe. Besides I could use a good snuggle right now also.

Someone I know insists on shoving her face in my cat's faces. She just doesn't get it....thank God. The bleeding will be profuse.
My cat doesn’t love snuggles, but if I don’t snuggle her anyway, she gets mad and starts attacking my ankles. I’m a very confused cat mom.
Then there is psychotic. My husband's cat. We raised him from a tiny kitten but something snapped & now he tries to kill our older cat & sometimes attacks me quite viciously at night while I'm in bed if he doesn't like his bed time snack.
When my cat retreats into the bedroom and hides under the bed for quite a while, I tend to think she's either unhappy, bored or mad at me. She often walks away quickly from me to avoid being petted too. I guess I've been reading her the wrong way. When she's ready, she comes out and rubs up against my legs waiting to be petted, then she turns around in the other direction and again waits to be petted. She repeats this several times. Sometimes she head butts me and looks up at me adoringly . She loves me after all!
My kitty does the same. She hides under the bed. When she comes out, sometimes she's willing to be petted other times nope.

If only if it's so simple. Our adopted kitty follows me daily like a shadow. Yet my mum has daily (for 18 months) tried her best and our kitty rarely shows her similar affection in return. Our kitty's "well loved" scratching castle was frayed & battered, I fitted identical rope to make it like new again 💞 Now our kitty never uses her castle & only scratches our carpet ??

My cats seem to be getting more and more jealous, one is big and fluffy and cute, the other is long muscular and sweet, but the sweet one doesn’t like if I let the cute one too much, he will hold him down and bite him (seems gentle though) they do love each other a lot.
I have 2 kitties also. One is 4 and the other 8 months old. I got the kitten to keep my original cat company. Joke was on me. She hates the kitten most of the time. Once in a while, they play, but it can eventually turn into a little bit more than play. I keep thinking they will work it out, and it seems better, but it's been 6 months! Lol I love them both and do whatever I can to make both kitties happy.
