@@StocktonSubber gotcha. These look really nice! Their color scheme feels reminiscent of the renderings for CAHSR’s trains that’ll be running up and down the Central Valley in several years.
They were supposed to enter service on the 710/719 rotation sometime this week but as far as I know they haven't sent the trainset back to Oakland from the ACE facility. They'll be replacing the comet set first so it can be split up to add a second axle count car to the rest of the bilevel sets and free up more cars for an additional Capitol Corridor round trip. Eventually all bilevel sets will be replaced on the SJ, with a second set of ventures slated to enter service on 711/718 about 3 weeks after the first one.
There’s going to be vending machines atleast. I think the ultimate goal is to get new Venture cafe cars as well. But who knows how long in the future that will be
San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority decided on using vending machines on the Venture cars, best to bring your own food and beverage especially if you are traveling with young children and adults with dietary concerns.

Beautiful modern trains! Siemens knows what it's doing! Can't wait to ride these!
Except for the tables in the café cars.
They coaches really do look nice together with no amfleets in the mix
Really great composition on that opening shot.
God that brushed stainless steel looks really nice.

The sets look good hopefully they can start to raise older station platforms to the high level standard hight like the east coast.
epic thumbnail
This just in a source from Amtrak says that the cars are going to debut on 710 and 719 tomorrow. We’ll see if it happens.
Amtrak please repaint the SC-44’s to match
Please
Great catch! When are these expected to enter revenue service? Is the plan to phase out the entire current California Cars bi-level fleet for these?
These are meant to replace the Ex-NJT Comet Cars and supplement the California Cars on the San Joaquins.

@@sjvrailfan So a couple more weeks until they're in service, do you reckon? Or longer?
@@sjvrailfanso eventually the California cars will not be in service anymore?
I wonder how long it is until we have P42 cab cars. I see them on trains less and less these days…
Probably when Airo sets start to come in so that schedule changes can be maintained while the Airo sets are still coming in.
So what happend to the cab cars?
Caltrans ordered 7 Venture cab cars and are still a work in progress at Siemens, Sacramento CA
Wonder if enventually these cars make it on the Capitol Corridor!
But NO cafe! This is Caltrans at its best, hope you're not hungry or thisrty in 5 hours!

Also hope these can get more comfortable seats that actually recline, somehow
