I love your videos and I'm so glad you posted again! I think that we all live in our own little bubbles and that definitely contributes to mental illness for some people. I recently read an article called Pearls before Breakfast from the Washington post (I'm not sure if it is available globally or just in the US) and it is really cool. An expert classical musician was placed in a subway station to play music and the article explored how little people responded to his presence. I really like your videos like these where you just explain your perspective on how our society is... I guess you could pull quite a few videos from that.
I think one of the reasons for more documented cases these days is because the support and the knowledge about it as increased. I'm a 3rd generation clinical depression and anxiety sufferer and when I look back to how my Grandmother, who suffered from severe depression (I'm talking suicidal) was treated by both the medical community and society vs how I was treated when I was first diagnosed it's astounding. I think anxiety has always been a wide spread issue in humanity, it's just treated very differently today as a result of how our society as evolved....but that's just my two cents :) (Or technically 5 cents cause they got rid of the penny here in Canada)
Yay! someone else fron Canada. I totally agree with you about the fact that there is more people with anxiety because society is more aware of it. I think it is the same thing with sexual minorities. There are not more lgbt+ people today. It's just that we are more aware and accepting of it. However, anxiety today may be caused by different factors due to the prevalence of technologies.
