The film you removed was the original polarizing film--evidenced by the fact that once removed, you could not read the LCD until you placed a new polarizing film on it. The UV filtering is likely on the clear plastic cover that is a separate piece from the LCD assembly. THIS IS A GREAT MOD! THANKS!

Will this work with any LCD? Does the polarized sheet need to be anything specific?

This is a great option for us USA owners. I've
always liked the way the SP dash looked compared to the stock MT-09 one.

I agree. Looks so much better. Even with the key off, the blacked out look matches better with the rest of the bike.

Exactly what I needed. Thank you so much. I'm going to buy me a MT09 soon. Was about to get the SP, but I don't like the color of the bike. So I buy a MT09 and switch the suspension to oehlins. I had no idea how to get my hands on a SP look-a-like LCD. Now I can build it my own. Top notch!

Can't imagine it would be worth upgrading a standard bike. Just get the sp and a fairing kit worst case is you have to wrap the tank. Still easier than replacing suspension.

Interesting and impressive video but how is that better than the original ? If the bike came with dark display people would be switching it to light display just to do something to their bikes.

To me it's easier to read. Besides, modifications are almost as fun as riding

Dude that looks insane! Awesome job and really looks good.
Any idea if this will work with the other bikes in the FZ or MT range?
I have an MT-07 and would LOVE to do this!

@@MotoSouth How does it look at night? And in bright sun, is it any easier to see? Would be nice to see the difference, day vs night...
