    Back when I played City of Heroes, they had a glitch one night. The NPCs had spawn points and would start to wander around the city. That night, they spawned, but didn't wander. There were just scores of NPC's standing in lines by lamp posts, or mail boxes, or bus tops. The visibility of the zone also has a decimal move, so you could only see a few dozen feet before things grayed out, like being in a heavy fog. It was one of the creepiest things that ever happened in a game. In Silent Hill, you expected it to be creepy, so it wasn't. Here, you had three years of normal behavior as a baseline, then it all just stopped.

      That's exactly how I feel with the 30+ movies in your top 5🤣🤣 because saying like your top 100 list feels like a disservice to all those movies you love so has to be top 5

    • @MxQuist0812
      @MxQuist0812 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Considering there are, without grossly exaggerating the numbers, tens of thousands of movies out there, a thirty count Top 5 still sounds like a pretty intimate collection. My own Top 5 has been on an unabashed freefall rotation most of my life.

    • @RickLeMon
      @RickLeMon ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MxQuist0812 Also, I just like movies. My philosophy is to always try to find something good, something worthwhile, or just something I enjoy in a movie. Life is too short to get worked up over what you don't like. And I can be bribed to watch just about anything; all it takes is popcorn and a box of licorice.

      Tell him I loved his line delivery and he deserves work! “That security guard is a god-damn HERO!” while pointing to the screen. I used to WORK at JEWEL in Vegas (it’s a popular nightclub in Vegas at Aria, lots of big name hip hop and the occasional EDM acts DJ and preform Steve Aoki, Lil Jon, Pauly D, Fat Joe, Coi LeRay, DJ Mustard, Deorro) and used to go out a ton in Cleveland when I was younger and lived less than ten minute walking distance from the Flats and Warehouse District. I know a ton of bouncers that are all like former bodybuilders and MMA fighters and I was like “That’s totally a club bouncer that got a gig standing around doing nothing for a Fortune 500 company, probably served in Iraq and that was the best 60-80k a year gig available”

    Fun fact: I haven’t played a video game since the year 2000. That was Legend of Zelda on Sony PlayStation. I still LOVED Free Guy. I found it delightful and heartwarming plus it was filled with lots of old school pop culture references. It was brilliantly written and the cast could not have been better. It is my favorite movie of the last few years and much of the “gaming” aspect I didn’t even get. It was just a great movie.
    Full disclosure: I only watched until the end for your Channing Tatum reaction. I subscribed because I think you are sweet and your personality is very refreshing. 😊

    All of the characters in the game have the same potential as Guy...but the thing is that they need a rather substantial trigger. Most of them have the right structure to grow, but there's really nothing special about them that would ever cause them to deviate. They're potentially self-aware AI, but they're all otherwise very basic in operation.
    Guy, was specifically built to be "for" Millie, and to want only her. To be her perfect match, and for her to be his. He was supposed to never get her...as a representation of Keys' unrequited love for her. So, when Guy actually meets her in the game, his code fully kicks in to what it was originally designed for, and he becomes obsessed with her. That obsession leads him to throw away everything about his routine, and do any and everything he possibly can to reach her.
    And Guy then becomes someone who breaks the other characters out of their routines by disrupting them with his shenanigans. In fulfilling his true designed purpose, he begins to force the others to realize their own potential. Every life he touches, he changes.
    And by the end, he's outgrown his core directive, and even though he still loves Millie, he understands the truth, and is ready to move on with a life of his own.

    Antwon's not worried about booting the players...because that he can deal with. All he has to do, is give everyone in Free City 2, who played the original, a giant consolation package of level boosters and all kinds of other goodies. Just like when any other multiplayer game goes down suddenly. It's just that he'd have to give them a bigger consolation package in this case. But it would still work.
    What he can't do...is let that secret out. There's no fixing that. It absolutely WILL ruin his company if he gets taken to court for it because he has NO chance of winning.
    So he's got a bad option, and a catastrophic option. So he's going with the one he can deal with in some way.

    19:25 "everything it knows has to be coded. That's the whole thing with Artificial Intelligence"
    Actually, it's the opposite. The whole point of AI is it moves beyond coding. It learns. It applies what it learns and adapts beyond what humans have instructed it to do. That's why people are afraid of it. Because an advanced android can learn how horrible humans are and deceide to unalive the human race. (In theory.)
