To me, these kinds of mashups always tell different variations of the same story: Two childhood-teenhood friends who drifted apart as adults, reunite. One is the epononymous Bubblegum Bitch (referred as BB from now on), the other a conspiracy theorist who desperately missed BB’s company, roping them into the rabbit hole they’ve fallen into. The theorist *desperately* needs BB’s help to get out of some trouble. What’s the trouble? Governmental? Aliens? Secret societies? Eldritch monsters? Who knows! Other mashups of the song, other versions of the story has BB being introduced to everything almost like an audience surrogate, then helping the theorist to do something which causes big trouble, say breaking into a facility and stealing something or whatever the scenario is. Which makes sense! And those mashups and stories vibe and bop! Your version, however, *FLIPS THE SCRIPT.* And I mean that lovingly. Here, BB KNOWS of the conspiracy the theorist is in. They jump in at the first chance of messing with the unknown. They run in headfirst into danger despite the theorist’s initial fear, but they both vibe together on taking the challenge at hand. Unlike many other versions of the story, BB *leads* the way into what Trouble lies ahead; dressed in a pink swooshy trenchcoat paralleling their theorist friend’s own, their own modified versions of the Trouble’s tech covered in pink and purple hearts, and a devious, determined grin to match. And unlike many other versions of the story, this Miss Sugar Pink Liquor Liquor Lips, is the first one to reach out to the touch-tone telephone, cause a scene and let the Dangers in front of them go down squabbling in their own messes while the duo run off from explosions. The theorist looks back from the explosion behind them to their friend’s eyes and finally recognises the words to call the glint they’ve always had in them since they were very young. The look of a Bombastic, Beautiful, Blooming, Brilliant-minded genius of a Bubblegum Bitch. (TL;DR: This mashup slaps in ways I never knew before and I thank you for it)

this right here, it scratches a very specific part of my brain (only criticism is that i think neil could’ve used a couple more solo vocal lines from his song but other than that this is perfection)
Now I'm imagining Electra Heart (Marina's retired fictional character that is the protaganist of a lot of her older songs) and Neil Cicierega as a team investigating conspiracy theories together.
There isn't enaugh girl+boy friendships in media. No friends to lovers, just friends. Romance isn't more then friendship, it's just different. Let girls and boys be friends. My ONLY little criticism is just the lack of vocals from Neil-but otherwise this is absolutely STUNNING, I love this mashup and how much PERSONALITY this has!!
I imagine these 2 working together as detectives in a cartoon show with marina responsible for the image, marketing and talking whereas Neil looks at the details and generally is responsible for connecting the dots. Each episode of the show is based on a song eg. Cabinet man is about an arcade where people have been going missing so marina and Neil go and investigate at night to see that one of the arcade machines reeks of dried blood and decomposing corpses. They break open the machine and blood starts spilling, marina complaining about how her shoes are ruined while Neil stares at the now mechanic spider looking broken machine saying “I won’t hurt you unless you cheat” in a broken mechanic voice. Another episode could be redesign your logo where there’s a small corporation getting bigger and bigger, constantly making small changes to their logo as more and more people talk about it and it turns out the specific colours of the product were made to brainwash these people into becoming one hive mind of corporate consumers. Might make an animatic to one of these idk
This is HANDS-DOWN the _best_ mashup I've heard of these two songs. Extremely well done! I really loved how you repeated certain words like "touch-tone, touch-tone", "AM, AM", and "Bubblegum, bubblegum bitch". I think it made Neil and Marina match more if that makes sense. It made their styles mesh better. Edit: Also the way you made Neil sing with her is insane. I don't think I've ever seen that done before.
POV: This is literally just me and my girlfriend, she's a trans woman and I'm a trans man, I'm obsessed with the paranormal and aliens, she likes her looks and making sure she's the center of attention in the room. We are exact opposites but we work amazingly together.
I just imagine Touch tone running from some FBI agents, because he discovered a way to prove that the president is like an alien or something, but he needs backup so he calls his friend Bubblegum's just gotten home from a date with the love of her life, and when she picks up she's just gushing about the girl she went on a date with, until Touch tone has to (reluctantly) interrupt that he's actively being chased by agents, and then she shows up and decks all of them in the first chorus Then the two of them start driving away in her car, bantering and she's jokingly all like "oh I've saved you now, great prince, let's ride off into the sunset" and hes like "shut uuup-" But then he shows what's in the briefcase and then she drives them to this big corporate building, and is like "you gotta go in there! This is gonna change everything" and he's like "actually now that I see the Huge Terrifying Building I am not so sure of this" "and she hypes him up, talks him through it (the bridge) and he gets his confidence! Then he busts in, storms past a couple guards, makes it to the office and uses the like crystal inside to destroy the presidents human disguise, takes a picture of the alien president, and then Bubblegum and him have an epic escape sequence! The ending notes are a zoom in on a newspaper header titled "THE GREAT ALIEN CONSIPRACY CONFIRMED" ...At least, that's what I imagine. :>
i think neil would enjoy this, at least conceptually! he makes fantastic mashups so i like to imagine he's happy whenever fans make mashups with his music :)
I thought a cool and funny sort of story for this (cause thats what i see everyone doing and thought I'd share) would be; Alien comes to earth with the intent to take it over for her species. She disguises herself as a the blond bubble gum girl to blend in and take out the humans from the inside, she quickly gains popularity. Then theres this conspiracy theory/alien obessed guy everyone thinks is crazy cause he wont stop talking about this big idea he has and he always wants to tell people about his alien theorys. So bubble gum girl meets this guy and thinks to herself, "you know what would be absolutely hilarious? If i, the alien, befriend this alien conspiracy guy and hes just hanging out with an alien and has no idea." You know, a little fun side project while she takes over the world. So, naturally, thats exactly what she goes and does. But they actually get along really great and conspiracy guy finally has someone willing to listen oh-so-intently to his rants and theorys, and dont forget, his big idea. Bubble gum alien girl falls in love with him and her objective changes; do eveything in her power to be this guys bubble gum bitch. But ofc theres multiple conflicts; shes an alien and he dosen't know. She wasn't build to love, she was built to destroy and take over the planet ("ill chew you up and, ill spit you out, cause thats what your love, is all about."). And finally, will conspiracy guy be able to put aiside his big idea, the one thing hes been working on for so long, for her? Id like to think it all goes well; she reveals shes an alien and conspiracy guy, being who he is, finds her alien form absolutely beautiful and just falls for her even harder. He accepts her destructive nature as part of her aswell and they find constructive ways to deal with it without hurting anybody. Also, with this new found knowledge, conspiracy guy thinks of ways for them to work on his big idea together, and they live happily ever after. :]] But wait... bubble gum girl forgot one thing.. the alien invasion. They'll be wondering why she never reported back. She has an idea on how to save the planet BUT...will her and the nerd's big idea.. be enough?
Might be my OC brainrot, but a story always plays in my mind when I hear this remix. Two brothers; one on the more flamboyant feminine side and the other, a bit of a mix but a bit nerdy, and they’re gushing to each other about their boyfriends/crushes. The first brother is on a lounge, draped in his best and pinkest, singing the Bubblegum B!tch part, happy to be who he is with his partner. The other brother, singing the Touch-Tone Telephone part, on the other hand, is in a panic. He has a cork board set up with date ideas, info about his crush, and other things tied with red string, coming up with the perfect plan to confess. The latter brother watches and listens, smiling, since he knows his sibling will get his man and that they both love the other. Two phones start ringing, one bedazzled rotary phone with pink and feathers, the other red vintage landline phone like the ones you see in movies. They both pick up; the first brother twirls the cord around his finger as he croons to his lover on the other line while the other shakes, carrying the console(?), looking between the phone wedged between his shoulder and ear and the board. In the end, they both have their lovers, the first left giddy and love struck and the other equally love struck but with a dopey smile on his face.
If I could write a paranormal mystery/horror with this vibe, I’d be happy for the rest of my life Fantastic job mashing up the songs! I’d like a little more/louder Touch-Tone Telephone, but it has such a great delicate balance as it is tbh
As a MARINA stan, I can honestly say that 1. This is one of the best mashups I've ever heard And 2. That I will most definitely be listening to more of Lemon Demons songs
1:18 holy cow this part is fucken amazing. THE WAY YOU MIXED UP THE WORDS TO MAKE HER SAY “gonna be your bubblegum bubblegum bitch!” FITS SO NICELY IN THE SONG. AAHHHH
this Mashup is basically two different eras of my life, BB being my feminine Era where I was interested in anything pink and cutes and Touch tone is my current Era where I'm masculine and love the paranormal and folk lore. anyways, this is a fucking bop
When you are so close to discover existance of aliens, and your bubbly, airhead bisexual friend, who is also alien is disguise, having a time of her life. Patiently, she is waiting for realisation to hit him like truck
Don't know if you're going to read this but thank you so much for this mashup, was amazing to hear I felt like that Ratatouille scene where he mixes two ingredients and tastes better
This is THE perfect example of what mashups can be. Not saying mashups that are just a vocal over an instrumental are bad (I've made plenty of those myself) but tracks like this with all the lyric splicing, jokes, and sampling the vocals of touch tone telephone in new ways not present in the original song are just the absolute best this artform has to offer.
I should've also mentioned the pitch shifting on the bubble gum bitch vocals and also the use of the bubble gum bitch instrumental in places, that stuff is sooooo good omg
This is the first mashup between these two that works for me! It's clean, the music doesn't clash, the vocals not only line up well but conjoin beautifully, all while the energy of the song isn't lost and there's no distortion of the singing or music! Good job op, can't wait to see more of your work!
Everyone else: Talking about making a TV show where these two characters interact Me: Hurriedly making an OC who is both characters rolled into one, both a bubblegum girly girl as well as a deranged conspiracy theorist

That’d be sick honestly
thats so cool holy fuck
definitely not gonna make some sort of series with this comment as inspo someday-
this is like daisy and hazel from murder most unladylike

"I'm gonna be your bubblegum bitch" "HEY"
LMAO it sounds like he's getting on her for swearing
This is HANDS-DOWN the _best_ mashup I've heard of these two songs. Extremely well done! I really loved how you repeated certain words like "touch-tone, touch-tone", "AM, AM", and "Bubblegum, bubblegum bitch". I think it made Neil and Marina match more if that makes sense. It made their styles mesh better.
Edit: Also the way you made Neil sing with her is insane. I don't think I've ever seen that done before.
THE "CAUSE I'M THE RIGHT ONE" IT'S SO GOOD
I think this is one of the few mashups that could pass for its own song
This is maximum bisexual/asexual solidarity...
Literally me, the Ace, talking about aliens and conspiracy theories while my bi BFF is like, but what about if we kiss the aliens?
@Just A Little American huh? when did they bring up sex
@Just A Little American
It's just a joke, man.
@Just A Little American I can't tell if this is serious or not but people who are asexual don't experience sexual attraction-
@@mintyflores7378 Why are you a representative of the person lmao. You don’t actually know if they were, plus literally no one laughed.
Its the perfect of electronic pop and 80s style music
I agree
this one really scratches my neurons
congratulations! this is officially the strangest thing i have read today!
Scratch and sniff
ye
@cardrabitt1159 please don't snort neurons?
POV: This is literally just me and my girlfriend, she's a trans woman and I'm a trans man, I'm obsessed with the paranormal and aliens, she likes her looks and making sure she's the center of attention in the room. We are exact opposites but we work amazingly together.
that is so adorable
This is now your guy's official song.
@@desired_war hell yeah
do you happen to have a united theory
@@Krozahl yeah
Wow, the mixing in this version hits HARD
every time i turn around someone makes a new version of this mashup that’s even better than the last one. this is GOOD it scratches the brain
So the songs fucking slaps n all, but the artwork??? What a vibe
I just imagine Touch tone running from some FBI agents, because he discovered a way to prove that the president is like an alien or something, but he needs backup so he calls his friend
Bubblegum's just gotten home from a date with the love of her life, and when she picks up she's just gushing about the girl she went on a date with, until Touch tone has to (reluctantly) interrupt that he's actively being chased by agents, and then she shows up and decks all of them in the first chorus
Then the two of them start driving away in her car, bantering and she's jokingly all like "oh I've saved you now, great prince, let's ride off into the sunset" and hes like "shut uuup-"
But then he shows what's in the briefcase and then she drives them to this big corporate building, and is like "you gotta go in there!
The ending notes are a zoom in on a newspaper header titled "THE GREAT ALIEN CONSIPRACY CONFIRMED"
...At least, that's what I imagine. :>
Neil Anami strikes again.
I love how all of these Bubblegum Bitch/Touch-tone Telephone mashups could _technically,_ also be called Telephone Bitch or Bitch Telephone
how is this not incredibly popular this is the BEST one
Everyone’s talking abt the song, (as they should, it’s so good,) but no one is talking abt the art! It’s just as amazing!!
its what got me 2 click on the vid in the first place!
buff lemon
@@DV_L_N Tiny lemon (about 1:22, when life gave me lemons I made lemonade or something like that).
@@hellolithy ok but look behind Neil at every other point in the video

this legitimately sounds like a bomb opening theme to an awesome animated show. It's so well done!
My favorite parts are the small details like, "straight to number one" "'cause I'm the right one." Spectacular job.
Beloved girlfriend I have found alien life forms
Ye one sec I found a new bubblegum flavour
I'm here to discover aliens and chew bubblegum.
And I - haven't found any aliens
\_ am all out of bubblegum, b*tch.
Perfection
Instead of a radio podcast, touchtone guy is calling a call girl to talk about aliens
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE AMAZING ART
Why is no-one talking about the autotune on the part like: "I'mma be your Bubblegum, Bubblegum, BITCH!" 2:08
It's amazing!
this mashup gives me gender envy, and I have no idea why

i think neil would enjoy this, at least conceptually! he makes fantastic mashups so i like to imagine he's happy whenever fans make mashups with his music :)
1:42 is so funny its just "welcome to the life of-!" "robert stack." "bitch." and i love it
I usually do not like covers, remixes, mashups, ect. But I have had this song on loop for hours, beautiful work dude!
I thought a cool and funny sort of story for this (cause thats what i see everyone doing and thought I'd share) would be;
Alien comes to earth with the intent to take it over for her species.
But wait... bubble gum girl forgot one thing.. the alien invasion. They'll be wondering why she never reported back.
She has an idea on how to save the planet BUT...will her and the nerd's big idea.. be enough?
omg bravo this is so good
@@DiamondBrickZ EEEE HELLO! Thank you!! I was just gonna make a quick little thing but then it just kept GOING- But im glad you enjoyed! :DD
In the end, they both have their lovers, the first left giddy and love struck and the other equally love struck but with a dopey smile on his face.
if you put a transmasc and a transfemme in a mixer this song would come out
If I could write a paranormal mystery/horror with this vibe, I’d be happy for the rest of my life
Fantastic job mashing up the songs! I’d like a little more/louder Touch-Tone Telephone, but it has such a great delicate balance as it is tbh
As a MARINA stan, I can honestly say that
1. This is one of the best mashups I've ever heard
And 2. That I will most definitely be listening to more of Lemon Demons songs
Listen to two trucks. Also I am a year late
The person who said this is adult Dipper and Mabel Pines teaming up again is the sexiest person on the planet and also correct.
1:18 holy cow this part is fucken amazing. THE WAY YOU MIXED UP THE WORDS TO MAKE HER SAY “gonna be your bubblegum bubblegum bitch!” FITS SO NICELY IN THE SONG. AAHHHH
MARINA and the Demons
this Mashup is basically two different eras of my life, BB being my feminine Era where I was interested in anything pink and cutes and Touch tone is my current Era where I'm masculine and love the paranormal and folk lore. anyways, this is a fucking bop
Absolutely doing little shimmies, g o d this is good
THIS IS LITERALLY THE BEST ONE
When you are so close to discover existance of aliens, and your bubbly, airhead bisexual friend, who is also alien is disguise, having a time of her life. Patiently, she is waiting for realisation to hit him like truck
Thank you, this scratches the itch that has been in my brain for months. This is wonderful.
Yeah this is gonna be on loop for a while
(Man this scratches my brain i love it)

THIS GOES SO HARD OH MY GOD ????????????? ITS THE BEST MASHUP IVE EVER HEARD

Don't know if you're going to read this but thank you so much for this mashup, was amazing to hear
I felt like that Ratatouille scene where he mixes two ingredients and tastes better
“Welcome to the life of ROBERT STACK bitch”
The art is so good
I've now seen THREE mashups of these two songs. Though, this probably the best one I've seen!
Edit: Huh, four now?
DAMN!
I love how they're drawn! One being very relaxed in colors and lines, the other having harder edges and differing colors
words cannot express how much I love this mashup !!!!
This gave me the confidence I've literally never had
1:28 the lil lemon demon tho, so cute

I love L.D's perspective in this song! I absolutely adore this part. 0:57 Where he sings with her in the background.
OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS, IT SOUNDS SO GOOD????? THE ART AND THE MUSIC IS MNECRVHKGTARLRCHBV
help i read the keysmash as minecraft-
This is the first mashup between these two that works for me! It's clean, the music doesn't clash, the vocals not only line up well but conjoin beautifully, all while the energy of the song isn't lost and there's no distortion of the singing or music! Good job op, can't wait to see more of your work!
Everyone else: Talking about making a TV show where these two characters interact
Me: Hurriedly making an OC who is both characters rolled into one, both a bubblegum girly girl as well as a deranged conspiracy theorist
"Welcome to the life of... ROBERT STACK, bitch"
Guy looks like a classic detective side eyeing the spunky teenage rollerblade girl who's definitely probably got something to do with the freaky mythic shit going on.
“WELCOME TO THE LIFE OF”
*”ROBERT STACK”*
“BITCH-“
AHAHAHAA- THIS WAS AMAZING!! CAUGHT ME COMPLETELY OFF GUARD TOO!
I CAN IMAGINE THIS IS MARINA TELLING A STORY N LEMON INTERRUPTED HER THERE, SO SHE SAID “BITCH-“ IN OFFENCE TO IT LMAOO
