The crimp for the charging cable off the alternator had broken. Looked OK, but only when it was cool enough to get a hand in and wiggle the cable did the problem reveal itself. Removed the left over bits, made a fork out of bare cable and bolted it back on.👌

It looked like a k-series but couldn't hear from the video -but what was the issue?
