I just watched another doc that happened to talk about the hope diamons and its history is not sure the diamond sold to louis was orginally 112 carats then it was cut into what's called the french blue which is 68 carats(not 100% on the weights but around there also not sure if another diamond(s) was made from the huge stone but most likely did cuz they don't waste it) and the french blue was lost after the french revolution it is possible the hope diamond was cut from the french blue since its 45 carats. Anyways diamonds aren't as rare as the industry makes u think if all the diamonds they keep locked up were put on sell diamonds would be relativlly cheap the scarcity is what keeps them expensive u know the whole supply and demand. When artifical diamonds came on the scene they were worried and made a machine to determine if man made or naturally made and I think pressured these makers into labelling their diamonds and ran a campaign how natural diamons are some how better to me a diamonds a diamond as long as its carbon and not a fake like crystal
the only true curse about any particular diamond is the power of lust enough by others bold enough to desire and remove possession of it from "a current owner" but just for another interim of time for this cycle of lust shall never end ~
