    How did you find this process? Are you using a different process to automate your work? Please let me know in the comments below!

      Hi thank you.
      This is the closest thing to the way I want it to work.
      The only thing is that I still have to open Power Bi and click "Get Data" button.
      Is there a way to fully automate data from Sql Server to Power Bi Desktop without us having to open Power Bi?
      I have the idea of automate the whole thing from Sql Server (select * from) -> Power bi desktop(data cleaning with Pandas & create dashboards) -> Publish to Power bi online
      I just want to automate the whole thing.
      Can you suggest the solution?

      @@norpriest521 You will have to investigate the live connections. There is a few options. One of them I use is Analysis Services via Visual studio

    Thanks a lot for putting this video. I am delighted with this video. You explained every single bit precisely without rushing and taking any short cuts. There are very few videos where SQL connectivity is shown using the stored procedure. Most of the videos use Excel spreadsheet to explain the concept.
    In this tutorial, you did touch the scheduling the SQL job to run at a set frequency and this was really good to know. Power BI presentation was also very good. Good on you mate. Please keep posting similar videos.
    You may start new tutorials on how to use DAX to create measures in the power bi.

      As per my understanding you can directly connect to the excel . There maybe many scenarios where you want to create new tables in db to load the excel or other files and pull reports from warehouse . This is the scenario he is explaining .

    Hi. I really learnt a whole lot from this. Quick question, if the dataset was imported into sql as a table and not using query, can the automation still work. Because it seems like the "table creation" and "Bulk insert" from the URL in the stored procedure is what allows the automation to work.

  • @lulubee4826

    Let's assume you do all of that with models in Databricks Clusters, and then you publish on Power BI Service, will it be as faster as it looks like? Is there any data stored on Power BI Service ? or everything stays in the Data Source (i.e. in your case SQL)

    • @Data360YP
      @Data360YP  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, both solutions work but I would advice not to store any data in Power BI as it will be slower. There is also a limit in how much data you can store in Power BI
