As a massive music geek who’s always interested in analysis and production dissection, watching my number one artist for the last 3 years break down his thoughts on each and every one of his tracks! I *LIVE* for this kind of thing, and this has become an annual event for me! Just wanted to voice that to get the rush of nerdiness out of my system for now
I can't relate enough to your comment, I just love how he does this and I always look forward to watching. Especially his opinions on songs I loved but he had problems with
VIP will forever be my favourite cuz me and my 2 friends sang it at a school performance, we switched every bar, we sang the chorus together and I managed to get the coke and Pepsi part, we won that competition
Each year I wonder how he’s gonna evolve and make his songs more unique and up the quality, and each year I’m shocked; and for the past 3 he’s ended up as my number 1 artist. Never disappoints, and always surprises! Keep it up, dude!
I love that Rustage gives his insight and thoughts on each song and ranks them personally rather than what others think or say. Like how he personally loved Avatar and thought Ayanokoji was an alright song. Saying this does kinda hurt Not Like Me is my top song of the year 😭. Your hard work over the years being visually and audibly represented through your music has been an amazing journey to witness.
Dude not like me is also my top 1 rustage song of the year and it hurts that he doesnt think its as good as it is, but I also really value hearing his own personal opinions.
Hey rustage. I'm honestly watching you generally for DnD but over time I enjoyed your content so much I follow your songs, WWE, and I will get to mine craft soon. I just listened to Take Me Back for the first time in this very video. Until two years ago I didn't know who I was. Now I do know. I want my great grandkids to idolize me, I want my future family to be proud I took part of their life. I want my legacy to be the goal my descendents strive to. My great grandpa was like that, he's a WWII hero, and went from nothing to fame and riches by his own accord. Let's just say I've been catching wind myself, hopefully in the coming years I'll become the pride of the family. Long story short. You need to be something great enough to make others proud to have known you. And trust me, you made that impact. You're an incredible person, and you've always stayed true to yourself. I disagree with you on so many things honestly, random hot takes and all, but you're legit such a major role model for me. Rock on man, keep up the good work, I'll be watching everything you do. P.S. I'm a busy ass man. I make time to watch your content. You're a part of the light in my week.
What a year it's been. A low point in my life, but also a turn to the good side. A lot of self reflection, self care and trying to change things about myself and my life. And through all of that, music - especially Rustages music - was a constant companion. Always kept me motivated to move on, to be better - but also let me feel understood (especially with some songs on the album). I love what you do, Rustage and I love this ranking, even though I don't agree with every placement. Then again, I don't have to :P Keep it coming! And much love goes out to everyone who's struggling and everyone thriving alike! You all rock your own little world and are appreciated for who you are! Keep being the best you can be
The PureOjuice story was so funny and kinda wholesome how hes like "bro I'm new to this success from my music thing, how do i pay taxes" 😭😂 Super Saiyan my co favorite rustage song of the year along with David Mitchell. And that back and forth is my favorite verse. I play the wjole song just to get to that part. Y'all should collab more
My personal top five: 1.Moonlight, the chorus and lyrics really got me through tough times, Johnald has an amazing voice, so I enjoy any song that he is in, another thing about this song, when I first listened to it, I was captivated, and spent the next hour of my life practising it before I even got to the next song in the playlist. 2.Gunning for me, the mix of the lyrics and music in the song had me vibing to it the entire listen, I also listened to it 213 times on spotify, which just shows how much I love it. 3.Otherworldly, the references to the podcast and overall amazing lyrics had me going back to it over and over again, and I liked it more and more each time. 4.Valhalla, Rustage liked a comment I made on this song, which made my entire week, and I enjoy mythology, so it was a great song for me based off of the references to Norse myth, lyricism, and the beat of the song, I also enjoy any song that has the U.K trio in it. 5.Assimilate, I simply loved this song, hands down, the music was unreal, I had a hard time deciding if I enjoyed it or Absolute more. I can't wait for his next songs, and I'm so glad that I stumbled across him years ago, and have now become addicted to his music, I hope to soon go to one of his concerts and meet him, whether that be at the Texas NPC event, or at the Slaughtered Lamb, he has grown so far since the start of his channel, and he will continue to grow until he has surpassed every other rapper, 7 Minutoz, Dan Bull, even Eminem. Happy New Years everyone, and have a good 2025.
He thinks he's overrated but he does so much stuff so well and is so passionate and skilled at what he does. Yet he thinks his success is undeserved. Like sure bro 😂
31:19 I’m Russian and have a seen all the Russian adaptations of Sherlock Holmes which I think are the best (movie wise even queen elizabeht said that before she died) and I loved this rap it was just so awesome I also LOVE the line “body in London but came from America” it goes soooo hard
LOOK GARY THERE I AM!!! Anyways yeah this was an amazing year! I discovered Rustage this year and in only 5-6 months he shot up to #3 on my Spotify Wrapped. Him and his music has already done so much for me and it probably will forever!
I honestly love Moonlight. All of the lyrics hit perfectly and are so sentimental. Genuinely one of my top 5 favourite songs by you. Might even argue top 3 with the video involved too. I also hella relate with Eating Colours way more now with the whole explanation. Its actually crazy how amazing all your songs are
To be honest, I think some of your songs were a hit and sometimes miss for me but keep loving your music. You really got me into nerdcore music so thanks
I love these year end streams from Rustage and hearing the breakdown/ background of the songs. Rustage has been my top artist for the last 3 years, my favorites from this year are Kami, Time, Freak!, Moonlight, Eating Colours, I Still Breath, and Jinx. Rustage has really evolved as an artist and I love when he takes risks, a few of them will fall flat but the ones that work out are really amazing and push him to keep innovating and doing more in the future so I am really looking forward to the new year and what will be coming up
You keep saying that your voice doesn't fit well into raps, though I personally really like your voice, imo it makes raps way more interesting, other ones often just sound too similar or "normal" to me. So take this kind of weird backhanded compliment and thank you for releasing these reviews of your year, they are always interesting to watch!
Until the end made me cry. Its the perfect song @Rustage. You outdid yourself with the lyrics Also the avatar song is awesome no matter what anyone says
I look forward to this video every year and am so happy this is out cant wait to see the rankings! and am excited for Rustage 2025, also cant wait to see you live in june!
until the end is genuinely one of my favorite songs of all time now, so i sincerely thank you for the release of it and the rest of your music this year ^~^
Avatar was probably my favorite release from you this year. It was so good. Also, this far removed from initially listening to MID, I feel like one of the people you're talking about is Pressful. I am happy to be wrong, but he does fit a few lines, ngl.
I didn't make it to the live stream but please take this comment. I loved shogun , until the end , time , Kami and Sherlock Holmes.. genuinely I loved all your 2024 music.
I missed this stream cause I was in a DnD session, but this is probably my favorite rustage video each year, hehe My favorite songs this year weren't even anime tracks, with the exeption of hellfire, funnily enough. I absolutely loved kami and VIP and Shogun and Avatar and Valhalla and damn picking favorites is hard when everything slaps. To be fair though, I didn't listen to the Dandadan or Jinx raps until just now since I am trying to avoid spoilers and have yet to watch either show, but they both slapped damn. Hope you had a great start into rhe new Year! :)
Whitebeard was sick and while i wish it had been a bit quicker in some areas and maybe less "vocal" instrumentals will have made it a lot better maybe? still one of the tracks i quite like of the year of the bangers!
I think that reference for Frieren is just Rustage trying to find what the vocals should be, and how one should manipulate their sounds. It’s fine Rustage, singing takes time (ironic-), and you were probably tired from rapping and making lyrics-
The thing with the Alastor Rap was that the two lines being rhymed were: “Shephard’s tone” and “Set the Tone”, which to me is less rhyming the last words, but the entire line, which to me makes it viable.
Bro- im pretty sure Adam, Alastor, & Anubis were my top 3 most listened Rustage on a rock prod was something i never knew i needed & im glad it happend
Ngl i got so used to Rustage putting Ay at the end of his verses bc i kept hearing it but now going back it wasn't as prevalent as i originally thought, I knew when they was coming (been listening since prince of the saiyans, Google music shutting down fucked over my year so I lost most his old songs)
My top five songs of the year have to be 5) Adam 4) Prime 3)Viligante Deku 2) Jinx and 1) Avatar Special shout out to David Mitchel tho. I felt so called out that Rustage said it was only for him because I loved it Thanks for another great year Rustage!❤
Regarding the Classroom of the Elite critizisim. The writing is defintily tough sometimes, especially if you reread it/its your first experience with the Material. But also the Author and Ayanokoji himself states more then once, a bit later on, that he is not someone to be aspired. Sadly the message gets twisted due to some of those weird internet guys who actually think he is some kind of god. But anyway, thanks again for a year of new music even though I didnt listen to you asmuch as I did in the last few years. I really loved many of your songs you released this year again. And I hope I can mabye see you perform live someday. Please continue the hard work you always put into this stuff ❤
Since he’s my favourite character you could do a remake of your Gaara rap cause your style and overall quality went up so high And I think CG5 or Connor could fit it really well

party in the afterlife left like it was meant to be that kind of "nearly off" feel for drums has it makes them stand out nearly has much has the vocals or more making the more party music vibe that is in my top 3 this year :D
I throw Kami, Super Saiyan, and Avatar into a category called "Talk yo shit Rustage" where we all get to listen to you remind us all that you're so well respected for good reason.

Whitebeard was my favorite Rustage song of the year and it hurts to see it so low.
true
Yea it wasn’t my favorite, but I LOVED that song and was so disappointed by his disappointment of it
I thought it was his best song this year
It was an instant-add to my playlist, a lot of his A and S tier songs on this list did not make my playlist
Yeah it is soo hype. I listen tonthat while I work out.
Daniel "Rustage" Rustage
Kami, Freak and V.I.P. are my top 3 this year. This was a fire year for rustage music all round
I respectfully disgree
@MannedMachine09 you don't think this was a good year for rustage's music? Harsh
I didn’t like freak the others are W VIP dropped on my birthday lol so I have some bias towards it

Yes, it is an amazing song, it should be in everyone’s top five
Respectfully you picked my least favorite songs of his 😭 for me it’s more like Kami, Elementary, Turn the volume up, VIP and Party on the afterlife
@@WeDieInTheDark also good songs, in his collection, there are no bad songs

All of these were peak, but Sherlock Homes and Alastor raps where absolute bangers. Plus the whole Wanted album.
@RUSTAGE2 Your Avatar song is underrated in my opinion. It's just peak. I jam to the song from start to finish. Everything about it is immaculate

Love these rankings. Just long form danielly goodness
my top 3 ended up being
David Mitchall was so bumpy and funky and love it
and the second is hard to pick but i think "time" "blow it all up" maybe "until the end" "someone else" really just any song from this year maybe "king of the world" is my pick tho? really hard to pick one
bit more of a emotional reason for the top 3 but still really just loved eating colours, it where one of those that got me to really look into myself and doing maybe not therapy but really went to look for food to try, filled the "junk" food from my life stopped sweats still eating fries and pizza's but filling with more greens and fish potatoes spiced food, spice ended up taking this obsession, so now i eat spice with everything some will say to much still not good but feel i might be better? the song really keeps me to it and be more conscious of it while still allowing myself the use of sweats and eating it, just less of it so thanks for that.

1:08:00 really disagree tbh. Think Rustage’s voice works perfectly with the track
Rustage 2024 was amazing. Can't wait for 2025
My top Six so far after starting to Listen on Spotify are: Time, Kami, Moonlight, Turn the Volume up, Halley's Comet, and Static
Id say Time and the meaning behind it was my personal favorite
party in the afterlife left like it was meant to be that kind of "nearly off" feel for drums has it makes them stand out nearly has much has the vocals or more making the more party music vibe that is in my top 3 this year :D
Really awesome your music is always so good!!!
