I really respect Jess for being honest and for telling the family that it was going to be really hard for her. There aren't many teens that are self aware enough to acknowledge how challenging the change will be.

I don't understand why they don't give these teens nicotine patches or gum. At least the ones that are well and truly addicted. Then they can focus on behavior and not just cigarettes. You can make it the lowest dose as possible, and maybe only for the first couple of days. But at least you can see who they really are without the addiction.

I think it depends on how the kids are sheltered and raised. Kids all have different personalities too. Some people still appreciate purity rings as well, so it really is an individual thing.
