They do be kinda dancing, lmao
That workout they did is literally what we do every time we're late for formation I've been in the army 10 years and I feel so bad for the biological children having to grow up like that
Was it like that every time? Or did they change it up
My brother served in the Army my grandfather and both uncles served in the Air Force and I had another friend who served in the Navy!!! I wish I could have served in the military but I am always proud to honor those who serve and have served in our military!!!

But why were they not wearing their covers? They were outdoors and in uniform...
As do I it is heartbreaking..
Those boot camp instructors were actually really nice.

These kids are just acting out, they have something that's making them sad and they just need someone who can understand them.
This! 💯 . I was always told their behavior always reflects from what you project to them. It's true. It's because the parents aren't parenting, they don't know what to do or how to reinforce boundaries, something they should have done as toddlers.

I think kids like Thea doesnt just need rules and punishments, but also room to make honest mistakes and words of wisdom and guidance. That was the (mostly) perfect environment for her to learn and grow. Every child learns differently and I think these parents were good at setting rules, expectations and boundaries from the jump. Then being flexible as they observed the kids and changed up their approach to suit the Individual child's needs.
This is absolutely true thank god I’m done with education 4 years ago finishing high school I realized that my parents raised me right
"life is hard don't give up"
I wish I'd had someone like that when I was younger, when I was far from my family and needed the help and support. These kids don't realise how lucky they are.
that family's daughter looks pretty stressed out and anxious tbh
That's how it be, my dad is pretty similar to hers and all I can say is that it leads to very, very poor relationships with your children, and it makes you dread being around said, parent
The reality of having strict parents.
My mom doesn’t allow me to wear low cut tops because they reveal my chest and she would be mad at me. I dress just like Taylor Swift. I had my ears pierced when I was 7 years old, I don’t sleep with my earrings in because they can get caught on my pillow and I would get an infection

sometimes parents like these make me wonder, what if their kids are depressed or anxious, especially about school? My school life was pretty rocky, and if we did grades where i went, i would definitely have been failing, but most of it was due to issues i couldnt push through at the time. Would they still take their stuff away, or would they change tune and help them try to overcome whats stopping them
yeah even if they wouldn’t be depressed they are still bad parents
Friendly reminder that mental health help was still very stigmatized at the time.
Parents are bad imo. It’s their fault they didn’t raise their children well and that there Kids are like the way they are

I feel like calling your parents “sir” or “Ma’am” is wrong like the rules are fine just make sure the child knows it is from love versus control
I was thinking the same thing.
The only time I ever addressed my parents as "Sir" or "Ma'am" is whenever I really screwed up.
Simple answer: 'murica.
That is love in some family's, it's a sign of respect, calling your parents sir or man, hurts no one.
In my family we don’t address our parents or other family members as ma’am and sir. But we HAVE to say ma’am or sir after saying something to them like yes or no other wise it’s a sign of disrespect to them (we’re southern)
This episode aired in 2010. Thea and Corie were both 16 years old so now (2024) are about 30 years old. I surely do hope they stayed on the good path and are doing really well in their lives.

I don't see how this will produce any lasting changes, I never do. The issues are at home with their families. Best case scenario is they are more grateful for what they have but even if these strict strategies do produce changes they need the parents to be able to know what to do instead of the ineffective strategies they have been using.
Parents that dont bow down to their every wish and get scared and back down when their kids get mad at them.
i think there are families that help them and put them on the right path but families like this i dont think so
right like they can try to change sometimes but the parent doesn’t pull their weight and keep the schedule the kids had before so they’ll eventually drop it

Wow both parents have crazy ways to raise their children.
The girl of the parents with no rules obviously lashes out because she feels left behind by her mom and the boy has major father/abandonment issues
The children of the military family are just being used as cheap farm hands and have no say in their life by threat of the parents taking everything away. Raising them this sheltered doesn't prepare them at all for challenges later in life, especially emotionally and psychologically.
Hope all of the children turned out well.
Why does something always have to be WRONG with the kid for them to be bad. Can’t they just be normal bad kids. I feel like this comment is forcing it to juch
It does keep you out of trouble because you learn how to avoid it all together.
What's so wrong? I grew up and I turned out alright. I stay out of trouble during life struggle. Yes I had chores and if I step out of line I got punished. Yet when I need help or want to do something that help I was allowed. Heck I was in FFA and it actually helped me out later in life. It is not bad. So it doesn't prepare bull.
