@@DxModel219 I hate when people say such thing like he carried the whole band, DM stood its ground even without Alan. The reason the newer albums "fell" are because they're no longer the mainstream focus as they were back in the 90s. Hell, you still got great albums like Ultra, Playing the Angel, Delta Machine and Memento Mori without Alan.
@@robyjacker meh those albums are good to mediocre never great… sorry but their best selling albums and songs are all from Alan Era. In terms of Alan carrying the band… well he did most of the studio work but all 4 i believed were needed. Did Alan carry the band… well yah during the SOFAD album I believed he did even the rest of the band admitted it during an interview. Post Alan albums never sounded the same
@@DxModel219 Martin was the one who created the original tunes and demos though, and I think that he needs WAAAAAY more recognition than he actually gets. Creating unique and different tunes in a short span of time was really incredible, not mentioning the synths at that time. Alan only gives the demos instruments and more life, but I don't see it being THAT noteworthy.
All I need in this coldest Russian winter is to: drink a cup of hot coffee, keep warm in bed and... listen to the soft voice of Alan. The greatest musician ever. 😊
I could watch this every night as a bedtime story. Alan has such a lovely, soothing voice. I can listen to him talk for hours on end. Love how his voice gets huskier and softer towards the end of a sentence.
This man is SO amazing. Musical genius, good looks, such a gentleman in person, I mean, what is not to like? Maybe this demonstration might be boring to some, however, just demonstrates how brilliant and talented he is.
jakubpetricek How lucky you were! When did that happened? Recently? We don't hear much from him now what is very sad ... I've been to his concert in 2010, I was so close to meet him but unfortunately only first twenty five lucky ones in the queue could meet him. I was 26th... Been crying for one hour. He seems like very educated man with good manners.
We are all in love with Alan and smth makes us think he would give a damn about us :)) Divine looks, brains and talent rolled into one, that's too much for any brain to compute...
Jesus Christ, how I miss his contribution to Depeche Mode music. Funny to imagine that Alan and Fletch must have earned about the same money while Alan was in the band. He only wrote a few DM songs, so he´d only get a little more money in royalties. Otherwise, those to guys were equal. That´s fine with me, they were in a band together. But just compare the workload in and out of studio of those two. Alan recording and producing music while Fletch was playing table football. On stage - Alan playing various instruments, Fletch waving and mimicking background vocals while his mic was off. It´s just too ridiculous.
jakubpetricek Yes, that's quite sad though... He deserved more and he knew it. If his decision was right? I don't know.. But I know since that sad 1 June 1995 DM was never the same. They are wonderful, but there is no more dark and deep atmosphere in the band. He was an integral part of DM. A big shame it finished like that in that fatal period in the band. I'll never forgive Dave, he didn't try to stop him.........
I totally agree with you, Klaudia. Have a nice day. I´ve been listening to The Clash since the morning, now it´s time for Songs of Faith and Devotion :-) Take care
This is the best thing ever! More useful than some other tutorials out there, but coming from the source this is a very valuable (or invaluable) stuff.
Alan Wilder was Core of depeche mode and this core is gone 1994... Martin is a Soul of depeche mode, David is a Voice of depeche mode and what is Flatcher? Manager?
the power of ALAN WILDER! out of nowhere this melody 2:48 came back to me randomly and it won’t leave, my mind must only accept it as an actual song! is it?
@MrTamerlan1980 yeah, Alan is great musician, but we must remember about other important people in Depeche Mode history - Daniel Miller, Gareth Jones & Flood.
No...The reason why you hear Blasphemous Rumors is the interview was cut short. After Alan's tutorial the interview continues showing DM on stage playing the song.
Hilarious that all that precious information was stored on horrible 5 1/4 floppy disks! I hope they carried around a few spares for live shows, as they were so easy to damage 😁
Easy & simple, none of today's modern problems when you try to set up your keyboards & sound systens & the PC operating system refuses to recognise something as it's automatically updated itself & says your storage device is corrupted. Just keep your floppy drives away from the speaker magnets & life is good.
can someone establish what synths are on the rack behind him? I think I see an Emulator III on the bottom but the others two hard to tell, so it seems this is in 1987 + cause EIII was out in '87, so maybe this is the work for the Music for the masses, so what other synths can be those 2?

Alan Wilder was an actual musician. Rare in synth pop bands.
They were synthpop at the beginning, but they soon began to evolve into something with so much more depth and longetivity. D 🌹 M

Yes, the main essence of DM whilst others (cough) Fletch (cough) stood around doing sod all but getting paid. No wonder he left
I love the way he explains everything that a non-technical person would understand.

Yes definitely but then check out the first analogue instruments, leads everywhere, geek paradise!
