hi from the uk ... recently upgraded my bike using your zip video to put a bore on my nrg mc2 5.7g rollers ect , i want more speed from the bike what gear up kit do you recommend
We didn't get the MC2 in Australia, only the later model NRG in limited numbers, so I couldn't give you specific advice on the exact kit to use - but I'd recommend increasing around 15% if its a basic sport cylinder kit and sport/street exhaust. Count your factory teeth, use the ratio calculation and then plug in some Malossi or Polini options to work out which is going to give you the increase you're looking for. We have an article on our website (link in video description) which also shows how to work out the ratio, you can just substitute in your teeth numbers.
Привет, приятель, как дела? Если коленвал и подшипники не изношены, то все в порядке. Если вы сомневаетесь, что коленчатый вал в хорошем состоянии, то да, его необходимо заменить. Установите новый кривошип, подшипники и уплотнения.
The principles are exactly the same. If you remove your factory gears, count the teeth and calculate your final drive ratio. Once you have, have a look around to see what's available and plug those numbers into your final drive calculation, then compare to the factory to see what percentage difference each makes, and which will be appropriate for your setup😁

has the stock 16/49 primary gear and i added a stage6 15/39 secondary, for top speed, it raised up to maybe 56mph let’s say 60, i know it goes faster because i’ve seen a honda elite 72cc go 79mph and that’s where i want to get at, i don’t what there setup or gears look like though
I’ve got a gilera stalker with a 70cc malossi cast iron kit fitted standard 17.5 carburettor ( jetted to suit ) and malossi red sponge with standard airbox, also got 5.7G rollers and yellow clutch springs. My scooter tops out at 60-65mph but screams it’s nuts off so I don’t like going that quick very often. I’m just wondering which gear up kit should I get. The gearing is standard piaggio currently.
The set up sounds really good! The gear kit, well it depends what is on the market for your engine, Malossi do a 13/48 Secondary for GS. Look into the secondary gear kit and check out our Gears Video to gain an understanding of how the ratio will effect the outcome.. th-cam.com/video/Wfuqm95sBaY/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=ScooterStreet
@@scooterstreetau Thankyou yes it runs very well and lifts the front end up with no problem I just don’t want it screaming at me when I’m going flat out 😂 do I need to do both primary and secondary gears or just the one
@@dexietyy7922 You could consider changing the rollers or upgrading the Variator to over range. 2 stroke are supposed to scream..
@@scooterstreetau might have to or I might get the stage 6 primary gear kit as it’s already pressed together, I might put slightly heavier rollers back in not sure yet
@@dexietyy7922 Do the math with the Primary gear too get a final ratio, good luck👍
Very useful video, thanks
Thank you for watching👍
Hi,i have an Aerox, just replace the stock exhaust and first gear slowly move after revs, when i put the stock back first gear revs, what îs the problem?
Which exhaust did you fit? If you have fit a performance exhaust the engine will move slowly from the start UNTIL you make adjustments and parts changes too the main jet, the rollers and the clutch spring..👍
@@scooterstreetau i put leovince TT
@@B58-555 Did you tune the engine? see previous reply.
@@scooterstreetau no,its original 50cc
I change the mein jet 72 up to 85 now its move From the start,But 85 its not big for 50cc?
Hi I’ve got a Zip with a TT exhaust and they 70 cc cylinder I watched your video and I’ve been looking online and I’m thinking the 16/37 is a good choice but just want to clarify from the master if this is a proper fittingI’m looking for good acceleration and a nice top speed
Hi Leanne, depends on your factory gears. The 16/37 Primary may be a little much for you with that setup but worth a try if you're really after some more top speed. The secondary 14/47 set on that bike is also a good option!
What gears are best for zip 15/38 or 16/37
2.53 vs 2.31. It will depend on your set up and your engine power.
Great work again mate
Thank you, We aim to please😁
Is 15/41 good for Adly gta
Compare against the original ratio.
Hi there 🙂
I like you're video's 👍😊
I have a Piaggio Zip Euro 5 with a Malossi 80cc cylinder but my gearing is still stock. My top speed is 60kmph but i have plenty acceleration.
Is there a way to change my gearing so my top speed will improve a bit ?
My local dealer said that they don't know any gearing options that fit the Piaggio Euro 5 engine with the 10" wheels that the Zip use 🥺
(My complete setup is)
Malossi 80cc cylinder with Malossi ECU
Stock air filter box but with Malossi foam
Malossi air filter tube
Malossi variator but with piaggio belt
I don't have the torque driver yet , but does the Malossi torque driver also increase the top speed or only the acceleration ?
🙂
Yes you do need the gear kit with this model. What you need to do is find the part number for the Euro 5 Piag Zip gears and compare them to the Euro 4 gears. If they are the same then you can use the Euro 4 gear kit from Mlaossi. www.malossistore.com/en/au/piaggio-zip-3v-iget-50-ie-4t-euro-4-2018-2020-pizi3v50-M.
Torque driver assist yes.
What Do yo think about a yasuni carrera 10 , is a 19 mm good?
Are these gears or exhausts? Carbys?
@@scooterstreetau Yasuni carrera 10 is a exhaust,and the 19mm is a carb
@@xaff4414 Yasuni produce very good products so I would say the parts you mention would be of good quality.
hi from the uk ... recently upgraded my bike using your zip video to put a bore on my nrg mc2 5.7g rollers ect , i want more speed from the bike what gear up kit do you recommend
U need good brakes too those stock kits wont hold long when u need to make a quick stop.About the gear sound use good oil
Thanks Bro✌
Awesome video, sadly not relevant to my scooter, as it doesn't have two wheels at the back with a differential in between.
Thank you🤩
Dude what the hell are you talking about it’s a scooter
What about a yamaha aerox 100cc
The principles are exactly the same. If you remove your factory gears, count the teeth and calculate your final drive ratio. Once you have, have a look around to see what's available and plug those numbers into your final drive calculation, then compare to the factory to see what percentage difference each makes, and which will be appropriate for your setup😁
Always very helpful!! I was wondering what you guys think about adding a gear up kit to my piaggio zip 2t. Has got the malossi sport 70cc kit with TT vince exhaust and malossi multivar 2000. Do you think putting the malossi 15/38 gear kit would do any good ? Thank you
Thankyou and yes that's a great idea! Or a 14/47 secondary.
@@scooterstreetau Thank you for replying. What do you think about the malossi 16/37 gearup kit ?
@@ST-9788 Calculate the gearing as in the video before fitting that one.
what KIND of speed seems to be an issue some want more top end others just want better performance UP TO the regular top speed
The gears can give a higher speed at the same rpm when compare to the original gearing.
@@scooterstreetau exactly folks are going at it backwards imo(i did too!) they start with carburetor and then variator weights on to the big bore gearbox last now im thinking thats first if you want SPEED i want the big bore to get me up to 35 a little quicker its a stay the hell out of the way of traffick issue for me lol
@@steveboshakis2751 Nice work🙌. Some of the models have gearing for accelerating and these are very responsive to a gear up kit. Kymco ZX and SYM Jet are a perfect example. When go fast parts are installed they over rev and then the gear kit has the perfect application.
Yamaha aerox with stage6 mk2 kit with everything best secondary gear ratio
You need to follow the guide, work out your factory ratio first. No short cuts unfortunately.
14:39 is faster top speed than 14:46. Hi you claim that it would result in a slower top speed ! Savi English man from the state's ?
Can help me please?
?
Nice
We like that you like.
Why do you keep calling it a diff?
Aussies love slang🦘
@ it’s slang for differential. It’s not a differential.
@@monkeypainter808 We make mistakes all the time. The concept of the video is a simple explaination of gears.
lol broused the comments & so many people are link F the math just tell me! Also probably just a aussie term but its not a diff - as in a differential. If anything its a gearbox.
👍
Im just looking for top speed really . Cause u can tune the variator to get you off the line faster if im correct right?
Yes, but if you over gear a 50cc engine it will not have enough pull to allow the gearing to activate. You need rpm.
