"Take advice from somebody who slapped Dee Barnes!?" Dr. Dre got in legal trouble when he assaulted reporter Dee Barnes back in '91. He made a public apology in '95 but didn't name her in it.
Dre and Em have always been on good terms. There has never been any issues between them.
I read that when Eminem wrote it, he'd only known Dr Dre for a couple days. He wasn't sure how he would take it, but obviously, Dre found it hilarious.
when asked about it by reporters at tha time, dre commented "it aint no big thing, i just threw her through a door" 😂😂😂
I've never heard the "radio" edit of this song, it goes to show what a genius EM is, having 2 versions of a song and they still make sense and flow, albeit not quite as well in this edit IMO.
You should do the explicit version also completely different

The part where Em and Dre are going back and forth is Dr being a hypocrite to the core! He beat his girlfriends, and slapped a female reporter amongst other things while trying to be holier than thou until he gave in to his true self at the end.

This song is wild. Like so many tracks on the Slim Shady LP.
But it’s a fantastic early example of Eminem’s skills as a storyteller. Actually, so is Kim, and 97’ Bonnie and Clyde and Brain Damage…
But it caused so much outrage, that people couldn’t look past the controversy.
It wasn’t until his follow up, The Marshall Matters LP, and specifically Stan, that his storytelling got the attention and respect that it deserved.
Only did the clean version for the music video. Hope y’all aren’t too disappointed.

What I love about this song is , Shady is not only evil ideas, but they just are bad to worese, not even more evil , but dumber : rob the store: run and hide at home, dress up like a woman... etc. even in the end getting into it with Dre, while exposing the hypocrisy that the youth see with adults, still every fix is a dumber idea than the previous.
I remember liking this video a lot when it came out. Though the clean version is kinda funny to listen to as well.
