Just finished instaling glide pro. Front mount in my Road king 2002. After messing up and losing time with DS MOUNT...(What a crap). Glide pro is amazing. My bike was never so smooth. Went for a check out spin ... twice. Great prosuct. Thank you and Your team Jake. You guys are pros!!!!!
Thanks for mentioning the motor mount bracket being installed wrong. Just purchased a used bike, flhtci. Bad vibration. It was that bracket! I would of never found that one. Mike
Thanks for this tip. After i install new front mount, I tight all the bolt without running my enjine, I miss this step cause my floor board virbration. I'm going to loose my centre bolt and check make sure it's loose up n down.. i hate that buzz feel
If I remember the instructions right it takes about 500 miles for the mount to settle in. Any way you look at it the Glide Pro mount is a way better mount than the Motor Company's. Look at the stock mount, MADE IN CHINA with a 3/8 bolt going through a 1/2 bushing talk about drinking the Kool-Aid! Just did both the front mount and the rear swing arm bushings and shaft BIG difference! If the instruction are followed to the letter it works.
Yeah, I couldn't believe that crap either!! I dropped a 7/16 shouldered bolt and put a big flat washer underneath the plate and torqued the center bolt to factory specs it was like butter.
If you ride a lot it won't last. Mine turned into mush and reverted back to the genuine HD one. I did install a larger center bolt and washer on mine which helped out considerably!
I cant believe that HD uses a 5/16" shouldered bolt for the center motor mount application. They don't even use a flat washer underneath the plate either. After I installed big flat washer underneath the plate and dropped a 1/2" bolt in the center and torqued everything it was as smooth as butter.
Kenneth Wise Hey. Can you Please tell me Where exacly to put the washer. I am strugling like hell. Changed to urethane drag speciwlities. Hard like hell. Engine vibrates between 1500-2000 rpm. Crazy. What size od washer and Where exacly you put IT. !? Thanx
What year is this bike? I only have voltage and oil filter and cast area it screws into. My Fatboy seems, after looking at it, to only have a long bolt holding it in. Bike is vibration more than normal Now and I think it could be this.
Hey there! The motor mount for the shovel and the evo on the FXR were pretty damn soft compared to the updated parts. A B C D .... The only one I have ever had work well was the original one made by BARRY. (Core 4) as the motor mount was changed for the oil up front, and then for a bigger engine and another bigger engine, they changed from rubber to urethane. Do you have one that is as soft and works as well as the original one? It's a major pain trying to find the rubber ones. Thanks.
The Glide Pro one I just removed from my bike had roughly 20k mile's on it and was very mushy. Almost seemed like it was silly puddy. I don't know if these are known for breaking down over time but it didn't hold up too well. I'm sure that given its location its bound to happen. I don't know of many rubber products that can withstand oil being leaked onto it and still keep its durability.
Amazes me how B.S. like this actually sells. Doesn't take a genius to realize that when you put in Glide Pro's mounts that are much more stiff than stock that all the engine movement (vibration) will be transferred to the bike frame. For $400 all you get is ripped off. I installed one of these kits on a customers bike and it was actually way worse than I had imagined. He took it around the block and brought it back to have it removed.
glad I'm not the only one to have drank the same koolaide , one trip around town and mine also came out, I know how to align the whole bike, went through the procedure twice. same unbearable vibration. The kit went on ebay after that.
Harley tech?? Another backyard tent tech... Around the block? It takes a few hundred miles to settle everything in Genius!! Didn't you learn that at Harley tech school??
Yep, that's why every platform on the planet with an engine in EVERY industry prefers Urethane which is STIFFER than rubber because it's worse than rubber........#SARCASM....File "harley tech" under the Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed category.
@@badhombre5591 after 20k I took mine out, it turned into mush. My bike doesn't leak a drop of oil either. It just seemed like it was gel and didn't have any rigidity to it anymore. Sucks but oh well... Went back to the Stock POS one and threw a 1/2" shouldered bolt on the center. Cant believe that HD used a 5/16" on these things. How dumb is that? I also put a flat washer underneath the plate too which helped distribute the weight of the engine. Night and day difference

Very informative with good video angles. Question, did you not tighten the center bolt completely after running the engine or did I miss something?
You leave it loose like that. Works absolutely great!

I used a inexpensive front mount but next time glide mount

Why are all Glide-pro videos so blurry???
Good job. I appreciate it.
Great instructions. Followed them exactly but still have vibration. I'll phone you. Maybe I missed something.
Loosen up the bolt.
Is it imperative to take the front wheel off?
He only did that for aiding in making the video. There's no other way to get a good vantage point of it otherwise
very nice ,, thanks for this vido helped alot...ken
