The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via Paramount+, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Every night, viewers can expect: Comedy, humor, funny moments, witty interviews, celebrities, famous people, movie stars, bits, humorous celebrities doing bits, funny celebs, big group photos of every star from Hollywood, even the reclusive ones, plus also jokes.
I don’t know how the audience didn’t immediately cheer out as he hit the floor “He’s here, he’s there, he’s every fucking where! Roy Kent, Roy Kent!”
So Brett is the kind of guy we need more of. Simple as that, imo. No fevered ego, no bullsh1t, no nonsense, funny, genuine, and hairy af.
I'm not normally a hairy guy kinda girl but I would climb Brett like a tree and run my fingers through that chest carpet the whole time. Lol

His work on Ted Lasso and Shrinking is amazing. Both shows are incredible dives into mental health and great examples of positive masculinity. Raw vulnerability in both shows. I love it.

As a British person, I can't tell you how great it is to hear another British person on American TV who DOESN'T speak RP! Just a normal London accent, it's a joy to hear!

Seems he went to one of the country’s most expensive schools though, so swings and roundabouts
Yes, there are a disproportional number of posh British actors, but I haven't heard RP on TV for decades.

Really, anyone who doesn't already should really listen to Brett's 'Films to be Buried WIth" podcast. He's the sweetest dude.
He also starred in his own indie movie "Superbob" a few years ago; it's a romantic comedy, quite lowkey, about a superhero who's socially awkward.

Brett wasn't there for a conversation, he was there to tell stories. Nothing wrong with it, just unusual.

@@karlmortoniv2951 Right. A Colbert has excellent comedy instincts, but his first job is to get out of the guest's way. Goldstein's delivery, though. You don't even know a joke is coming till it rolls over you.

I always wait until the end of the credits and we are always rewarded and especially this time. I'm afraid I rewatched it at least a dozen times, it did an old woman a lot of good. Oh hell, I'm off to watch it again.
My then-8-year-old-nephew and I were the only ones left in the theatre at the end of the credits of 'X-Men: Last Stand,' so we were the only ones to see the final scene.

I believe he was actually a writer and/or creator originally, but when trying to cast Roy Kent he just felt he was right for it.
Last time I saw him (only time) he had a small part in Ricky Gervais's Derek, playing one of the main character's boyfriend. Now he's in Marvel and chummy with Colbert, still funny as hell.
Oh my God, I completely forgot about him in Derek! I knew I had fallen in love with him before Ted Lasso. I remember thinking while watching Derek that he was absolutely gorgeous and I hoped I’d see him elsewhere. Thank you for solving the mystery for me.😊

Brett Goldstein is such a gem! He made a great joke at around 5:50 , but I think that he's used to British audiences who are (having lived there) much more quick to get the joke, so there was this {{THINKING}} silence from the audience afterward, which was also awkwardly funny 🤣

Gotta say, I saw Jason Segel in the preview for Shrinking, and I thought, oh cool, I wanna watch that. Then Harrison Ford came on screen and I thought, oh holy crap! I have to watch this show! How do I watch this show?!

If I remember correctly, he was writing for Ted Lasso first. Before being cast he looked at the character of Roy Kent and said something like "I am Roy Kent, I should play him'.
