I was the exact same way. Juice was my least favorite song on the album (specifically because of the “I think you like me” part) until I saw this performance video. They really sold it to me here. This is the best performance video I’ve seen. Everything is amazing, from lighting, to camerawork and the minimal use of effects, to of course SHINee’s powerful and impactful performance of the choreo. It’s incredible. Now I love the song.

First saw Juice performance during their SWC6 concert prior to the album release. Literally was so speechless at that time. Soo good. Then this performance video - perfection. SHINee just showing everyone how it's done. Can really feel the level of experience SHINee has. They are so powerful. Considering too that Onew isn't here and the other members are covering for him. They did an amazing job.

I think with some shinee songs, you have to watch their live performance to appreciate it better. It makes a lasting impression. The members really knows how to tell a story visually. Wow! And each performance have a different take- they try to change it every time:)
In SHINee's "Juice" performance video, I think the "sun" is supposed to remind you of a giant orange. The song is called "Juice," so I think the orange sphere might be designed to represent the theme of the song. We also see it turn into a red sphere and a silver crystal-like ball. I think the "sun" is changing colors and becoming more powerful to go along with how the song is getting more fierce. (And as you may have noticed, in the beginning they showed an eclipse, which could potentially be connected to SM's storyline, but I'm not really convinced yet.) I interpret the lyrics of the song as a big flex about how they are at the top of the game and they have that special "juice" that makes everyone want them and fall in love with them, etc. ("Juice" is a western slang term that, in this case, I think means "the it factor," i.e. the thing that makes you attracted to me, etc.) Fun fact: The phrase, "Incoming!!!", the laughing, and the phrase "Let's get it" in the background, as well as the phrase "Let's change the scenery, shall we" in the middle of the song, are the signature style and voice of Dem Jointz, who is one of the producers of this track, along with Kenzie. As you know, SHINee are some of the best dancers in the whole industry. They started the synchronized dance trend. And they made the industry realize that if anyone else wanted to compete they needed to up their game. Just think, when Taemin joined SM as a trainee at 11, he didn't even have any dance training -- up until then, all his skills were self-taught by watching dancers on TV shows -- and by the time he debuted less than 3 years later in 2008, he was already showing everyone that his skill level was on par with, or even surpassed, many professional dancers who had been dancing for years. That is why Taemin is now considered one of the top two BEST dancers in all of Kpop. It's why he is most idols' idol and a legend even among legends. And the fact that the other SHINee members have no problem keeping up with Taemin, just shows why SHINee are one of the top groups. That's just SHINee's natural talent. Plus, Key actually was chosen to become an SM trainee because of his skills as a dancer. He is the SHINee member who is fastest at memorizing choreography. SHINee are referred to as CDINee or CD-eaters, because they sound even better live then their album versions. Even as rookies, SHINee's main vocalists -- Onew and Jonghyun -- were mentors and vocal coaches to a lot of other singers and trainees, including several members of EXO. (EXO may be considered "Vocal Kings," but SHINee are the original Vocal Kings. Which just goes to show you why they are both SM groups.) Yes, Onew was unable to participate in their "Juice" performance, so the other members covered his parts in the song. However, as you may know by now, if you listen to the song on the album, you will hear Onew's voice in the song and he creates an even richer feel. (It was announced June 9, when Onew was hospitalized for a short time, that he would take a doctor recommended rest and he wouldn't be participating in any of their comeback activities. That's why we only saw him in part of the "Hard" MV because he went on hiatus in the middle of filming. However, he participated in all the songs on the album.) It's a running joke between fans and the members that you can tell when SHINee are lip syncing because they are so bad at it, that is why they avoid it at all costs. Therefore, when you hear SHINee sing, 95% of the time it will be live. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, what you will hear is live vocals. Other Idols and audio sound technicians, etc. who have witnessed SHINee performing live are always blown away, because in the parts of the song where most singers would take a break and rely on the backing track vocals to cover their voices, so they can catch their breath and recover, this is where the SHINee members actually ramp it up and become their most powerful. Juice wasn’t chosen as the title song because the members knew that Onew wouldn’t be able to do the upcoming promotions for it. He was still able to be involved in Hard so they went with that. They are the BEST to rework themselves by taking their brother Onew into consideration. I LOVE them!
