Why You Should Fly the Beechcraft Staggerwing - Carenado Beech Model 17 - NYC Hudson River Visual

Come along as we look at a fun and capable "period plane", the first of the Famous Flyers series, the Beechcraft Staggerwing. This was Beechcraft's first design, and it epitomized the pre-war art deco style of aviation. We put the Staggerwing through its paces on a trip through the New York SFRA, flying down the Hudson River past downton and circling the Statue of Liberty.
As always, this is meant purely for sim enjoyment and is not meant for real world flight instruction or advice. Frankly simmers should take with a grain of salt!

I have several hundred hours in the actual airplane. My dad had one and we'd fly everywhere together. There are several things missing from the sim.
When you start the Pratt & Whitney R-985 the cockpit fille with smoke. With the crank windows open it quickly leaves the running aircraft. The "Monkey" bars crossing your viewpoint are not only structural, but aid the pilot and passenger in the front seats enter and exit the aircraft.
The Staggerwing was first built in 1932 and designed by Mr. Ted Wells not Walter Beech. Fly safe!

Seeems reasonable to me, but I'm no expert. It floats on approach but still slams into the ground but you could convince me thats realistic

Multiple fuel tanks, didn't spot that, explains suddenly dying mid air, oops!

Yeah you always save the main tank for take off and approach

Ahhhh, that's what happened. Had no idea why i was suddenly dropping out of the sky.
