  • What's up guys! Today's video is force absorption plyometrics training. It's exercises to improve force absorption and landing mechanics, and strength and conditioning training to improve force absorption. If you watch my other videos, you will have heard me talk about the importance of proper force absorption for injury prevention and improve force production. The better and more efficient we can absorb force, the better and more efficient we'll be at generating force. This force absorption training session is great for all levels of athletes, low level all the way up to advanced. This runs through the basics, while also testing your ability to absorb increased amounts of forced depending on the exercise. Enjoy!

So, the key is to make our body absorb more shock from the jumps or..? Sorry im a newbie

Hey there! Thanks for the comment :) Sorta... we want our body to be able to handle the impact of jumping so that when we land, we can utilize our body's elastic ability to generate repeated power production. We need to teach the body to absorb/withstand/overcome force so that we can essentially use that force to create more force. If we cannot properly absorb force, then it puts our joints at risk for injuries, as well as decrease the ability to quickly produce force time after time. Hopefully that helps and wasn't too confusing 😁

Hello, how can we structure each exercise? Should we focus on one set for each per session?

Hello! This video just ran you through an entire force absorption plyo session that we'd do with our athletes. So I'd do most of these exercises in a single training session. It depends on the exercise, athlete, the program, time you have available, etc. to determine the number of sets and reps to do. But aim for anywhere between 1-3 sets for each exercise!
