Jin Sakai is probably one of my favorite character to date on PS5. So good and such an interesting time to set a Video game. Great story. Looking forward to checking this out. Agreed a little disappointing that we are already moving to another character, but the studio is a solid studio. Ill will certainly be looking forward to this game.
If there is one culture were woman warriors make sense it's Japan. It was rare, yes. But those woman are well documented and did exist through history. Plus, ever watched Lady Snowblood and Kill Bill? Ghost is a homage to the old cinema, woman on a revenge trip is nothing new, Lady Snowblood came out in the 1970s ffs.
Jins Story was not wrapped up in the game he became a massive target of the Shougun and a 2nd mongol invasion took place you gotta deal with mongols and your own people hunting you that would have been a great Narrative.

In the Japanese version, it was said to be a place where people with deeds they didn't want people to know drifted off to. In addition to the age and sightings, the bounty was 100 ryo (about 8 million yen at the low end of the market value at the time). I am not sure, but if this was a descendant of Tomoe, I think people who played Ghost of Tsushima would gladly accept it, even if the main character is a woman!

I hope this one has lots to do and be more filled up. Open worlds i love but lots of them are kind of empty. This one needs lots of secrets and lots of outfits to find, something for everyone and varied locations. They Just need to concentrate on filling the world up before releasing. I wish alot of games would do this. Developers should say hey we got the world and now lets fill it up to be interesting and keep players lost in it and not just in the story and some pretty locations but the world with lots to do
I think if they go back to Jin, they'll do in a fashion of a shorter form, whether it be dlc or even have the first couple hours of Yotei be a sort of prologue that ends Jin's story and explains how his legend carries on over centuries. That, or intermediate flashback moments in the game that are either automatic or discovered in the open world similar to the modern Zelda games, but hopefully something more interactive instead of just cutscenes.
Well said. Sucker Punch is one of the few studios that, imo, deserves the benefit of the doubt. I won't pre order ever again because of Cyberpunk, but I also won't write off one of the few studios that has put out a great game recently until given solid proof that it's warranted. If we assume every studio has gone to shit, they will.

Yelp there definitely female samurai’s in feudal Japan. It’s cool to see how Sucker Punch will utilize this character during a time Tokugawa Shogunate in power and Western influences starting to impacted Japan before they start closing its doors to the world “Sakoku”.

you can literally search up female warriors of japan, there were women fighting wars, they were called onna musha search it up. hell there was a female warrior whose a legend marksman and fighter and nicknamed the Nightingale
there were many from before that even. Whole platoons even that ingaged in actual combat, sometimes as freelancers when they couldnt technically be in the military. just formed a platoon of only women and got hired to fight on the battlefield.
I really want this game to be good, but unfortunately, with current female characters being written so horribly, I have to withhold my expectations for this to be a good game. I hate the fact that they Poison the Well for female characters hopefully this can be a return to form.

As of right now I'm out on it. No problem with female characters (Samus is my favorite video game hero), but it's clear when agenda is at play. They know most fans wanted to see Jin's story continue (regardless of what lapdog shills say, no it was not done). He did not need to be replaced yet.
Honestly, I don’t mind a new protagonist. Having these just become a series of “ghost” games opens doors for an assassin’s creed style of storytelling within different timelines (probably just set in Japan). I will hold my judgement till after the game comes out-they deserve that much.

Besides Jin is gonna play a role in the story somehow because how would Atsu get the title of "Ghost"

This follow-up sequel Ghost Of Yōtei is coming at just the right time. Ubisoft is making a horrible ninja/samurai game (AC Shadows) and Japan hates it. Japan gave high praise to Ghost Of Tsushima, so this sequel is gonna make up for Ubisoft's utter failure and pay Japan and it's culture the respect it deserves. Although I'm a little disappointed we don't get to have a male ninja character for a historical Japanese setting - I'm still hyped for this game and know it's gonna be good! ✊🥷👺🇯🇵

Where women even samurai during the 16 century? Like, im pretty sure they didn't participate in actual combat. I know that the women who were "samurai" protected their homes.
you can literally search up female warriors of japan, there were women fighting wars, they were called onna musha search it up. hell there was a female warrior whose a legend marksman and fighter and nicknamed the Nightingale
there were many from before that even. Whole platoons even that ingaged in actual combat, sometimes as freelancers when they couldnt technically be in the military. just formed a platoon of only women and got hired to fight on the battlefield.
I really want this game to be good, but unfortunately, with current female characters being written so horribly, I have to withhold my expectations for this to be a good game. I hate the fact that they Poison the Well for female characters hopefully this can be a return to form.

I don’t hate it but.. I can’t lie and say I’m excited to play as a girl. So much so that… I probably won’t buy this as I don’t ever fantasize about being a female. The last female lead game I bought was probably tomb raider for ps1 lol. Hope it’s good though as I am a fan of the series but.. something tells me dei stuff got injected into this game lol. Sad.

As of right now I'm out on it. No problem with female characters (Samus is my favorite video game hero), but it's clear when agenda is at play. They know most fans wanted to see Jin's story continue (regardless of what lapdog shills say, no it was not done). He did not need to be replaced yet.
Honestly, I don’t mind a new protagonist. Having these just become a series of “ghost” games opens doors for an assassin’s creed style of storytelling within different timelines (probably just set in Japan). I will hold my judgement till after the game comes out-they deserve that much.

@@blvd6969 Jin's story is complete. There is no point in continuing his story since he already became the Ghost. Also I don't want to be running fighting mongols again. Ghost of Yotei offers a new area and story to explore. Jin could also be in the game as a cameo or mythical tale. They wouldn't throw away Jin just like that since how popular he is. Besides Jin is gonna play a role in the story somehow because how would Atsu get the title of "Ghost"

Think I'll give this one a miss because it seems more ninja focussed and i enjoyed playing as samurai and seeing character challenge his moral code was a great story i can't see this game having the same tension.

It seems kinda like they're going down the assassin's creed route where we'll be playing new characters in different time periods just not in different regions of the world. Hopefully they dont make the same mistakes as ubisoft.

This follow-up sequel Ghost Of Yōtei is coming at just the right time. Ubisoft is making a horrible ninja/samurai game (AC Shadows) and Japan hates it. Japan gave high praise to Ghost Of Tsushima, so this sequel is gonna make up for Ubisoft's utter failure and pay Japan and it's culture the respect it deserves. Although I'm a little disappointed we don't get to have a male ninja character for a historical Japanese setting - I'm still hyped for this game and know it's gonna be good! ✊🥷👺🇯🇵
