Alyssa Q, Spain colonized the Philippines for 333 years so having Spanish ingrained in our language was inevitable. I like your video reactions, keep it up... :)
hi Alyssa! To help you understand what happened in this commercial...well, this ad showcases Christmas traditions in the Philippines like going to 'Simbang Gabi' (Midnight Mass in the Catholic Church) for nine consecutive nights/mornings and then eating Filipino ricecakes (e.g. 'bibingka' and 'puto bumbong') on the way home or when you get home (while having coffee) every after mass... However, here, it showed that the mother is dating a Filipino-Chinese and so instead of the usual Filipino ricecakes, the man brought home 'HOPYA' which is a Chinese pastry. Going back to 'Simbang Gabi', it is said that once you completed the 9 mornings/midnight masses, you can make a wish and it will come true. ^_^
I'm fairly "SHertain" you really enjoyed this commercial 😆😆😆 You are a joy to watch... maybe you can show this to your cool and insightful Dad? Looking forward to more of your quirky and entertaining reaction vids. P.S. Where's the rest of your Hawaiian trip vlogs?
Alyssa Q Hi there 🙋 Just one of your silent subs here (well, I guess not so silent anymore :D ) Hawaii reminded me so much of Philippines the few times I've been there. How many islands did you guys visit? Kauai is my fave so far... air so fresh at my cousin's place high up the mountain with the ranch-style living. Anyways, looking forward to the rest of your vacay vlog. 😊 Tc and G'night.
Sam CS Tagalog is Tagalog, no Spanish word at all. But i know you meant the Filipino language in which the base language is Tagalog mixed with Spanish, English, Arabic, Chinese & even some Mexican words.
Actually Tagalog is not a language, it refers to the natives of Manila or around Manila. Tagalog derived from "Taga-ilog" referring to Pasig River, which means "those who live along the river". Filipino, that is the official name of the Philippine language. It also refers to the natives of the Philippines.
yes i loved your reaction... and yes part of the Filipino language have strong Spanish influence as Spain has been a occupying force in the past ..i think the U.S. took over the place of occupier from Spain .. its why they also speak and can understand English so well anyways good job on being the quirky you .. i will come back and watch again

@@Alyssa_Q. Simbang Gabis ran on different times depending on the churches. They range from about 9pm at the most conservative to even 4am. =).
