I'm just accustomed to feeling out how much incoming damage is headed to my shields, and also the pause button gives me a lot of confidence to drop my shields when needed. The pause button helps a lot, as well as just keeping an eye on enemy weapons.
I love the retribution, turns point defense into point offence with how fast it is lol Edit: I once 1v1ed and beat an onslaught by ramming it in the face and flipping it just enough to be able to get behind it and delete it as a fellow devastator retribution fan

This is literally the space battleship Orion the Pentagon & NASA thought of building during the Cold War. Does it have Casaba "Howitzers" and a bajillion nuclear missiles?
This ship looks like its a fukin BLAST to play xD I haven't tried the new patch yet but having seen it on TH-cam I can't think of a single Starsector ship that is more memeable than this fucking treasure, not even IED go as hard as fart blaster. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
@@TheSweetSpiritIt’s honestly a shame that the [REDACTED] isn’t all that good with neural interface. Apparently it was optimized with the other [REDACTED] in mind, so I think there’s an issue with too little OP + the fact it doesn’t even have an omni shield.
@@cunnysseur5739 It's a glass cannon that melts when a heavy cruiser looks at it sideways (thus slipping around its 90 degree front shield), but it's not fun to be piloting a Hammerhead the first time you meet one of them high tech fart blasting its way right at your face.
I actually have a build that uses the missile mounts, but it sort of requires you to either abandon System Expertise or abandon fleet skills to get both Sysex and Missile Expertise. Without MsEx, I feel like it may be not worth devoting your resources to the missile slots. Idk, sabots are still really good lol.
Its funny how messed the vent effect looks when you just boosted. So the build is too focus on shields and flux and just chuck on short range guns. The retribution is fun as hell but it’s unfortunate it needs to be built more like high tech ship than a low tech one.
Yeah, the retribution follows a high tech gameplay style to a tee. It doesn’t really have the armor or range to armor tank, but its shields are salvageable. You can build for midrange instead of short range though. The build for that is Ballistic Rangefinder, Light Dual Autocannons and your choice of other weapons, though get 2 flaks

@@TheSweetSpirit A volley of Orion Driver and Hell Cannon turns Retribution from a melee fighter into a sniper. Literally, Hell Cannon projectiles fly a quarter of the entire battlefield, from one strategic point to another (like from a jamming point to a command point) at insane speeds.
Orion device is the most hilarious booster I've ever seen.
