Players commented on the MC ability to be overpowered if it can open alien tech trees to Protoss players, before BW was published, but Blizzard replied that if you have the economy to rock two tech trees in any meaningful way, you've already overpowered your enemy, anyway, so it was left in.

@@ryapowa seems like at really 70% but lets say 50% of pro games come down to huge army max supply fights, and in that case switching your economy supply into an alien race and using them for probe count instead of your main race, hence you have a bigger fighting army...it can become really strong i just dont think players have utilized it enough. i see alot of games also where theyre sending countless drops of dark templar hi templar storming workers reaver drops, if you can pull those off during those max supply fight games- then it makes sense that you can mindcontrol steal a worker..its just not being utilized. its very strong and basically guarantees protoss a win in a long game if they use it i would say. if youre on 150 fighting army supply fighting a 200 fighting army supply 50 terran worker count player-youre going to lose hard.
Morthada is ready to kill the Overmind with that mixed army

Mind controlled terran armies should totally get a protoss shield. Merge those technologies!
Maybe if they reduce the units HP/Hull, otherwise it really would be overpowered

It wasn’t a match between equals. It was just a pro deciding to at last relax and enjoy some slow and long humiliation of an amateur. That explains the murthada’s apm swings between 900 and 90.
With an APM like that Morthada is on stimpack I guess o.o

Original terran had still a chance to come back, toss guy was being negligent because of perceived superiority and supposed win, too bad he had no reserves
it's funny that the dark shadow had a spider mine near the command center of the morthoda right of the bat, so he scouted it right from the beginning
those 2 dark templars at the start could've done way more damage if the toss player had better micro.. like attacking the comm satt/missle turrets while they're being built

I'm up to the DT rush part, and man, I have to wonder why he didn't go straight for the tanks, and just the tanks. SVC kills are nice, sure, but it's even nicer to have nothing to attack you when scan eventually kicks in. And nothing to keep out other troops. GG.
Idk tbh, if it were me I would try to deny the ComSats from being completed and then continue killing SCVs. Of course I would kill the SCVs that are building turrets as well to deny vision of the DTs as much as possible. But Idk because its been a long time since I played Broodwar and I never really used DTs too often. Usually I would use High Templar or Reavers with Shuttles when I want to kill some workers.

nice game with that display of mind control and all, but it really should have ended as early as 7:30 when those DTs walked in undisturbed and without any possibility to be detected.

Sorry, guys, but this was not epic at all. Morthada was so bad, and if Darkshadow had a little bit more balls to actually produce more units, he would have won.

Used to do Mind Control tricks way back when. Was always fun just trying to get 400/400
I've always thought that mind controlling an scv was a very viable strategy for P to get an edge in the late game in PvT. we all know T is going to win in a situation where both are 200/200. How about if P gets to 300/400

god, wish we had more Morthada matches, and ones against Flash and the other elites would be HILARIOUS hahaha, even they would be surprised with Morthada's "tricks." LOVE this match and these two players. Hope more unique matches and lesser known players are still out there to find and cast.

Aw man, why didn’t Morthada make nukes?? That’s the funniest thing to do with a mind controlled Terran army. Two command centers, double nuke silos, two ghosts, simultaneous nukes in the middle of the enemy’s production. Kiss of death.
ugly start for dark shadow. Reminds me of when I used to play and would make those mistakes. Think I got everything under control with tanks and upgrades only to realize, when im suddently getting DT owned, that I have nothing to detect the cloak.
maybe the players should switch names. With those cloaked tank drops, too! Who ARE these two? Jeez, what a DAAAAAAARK match!

As I am watching this game I think of mind control over an allie's army which it can replace. It would take time but it might work. Does it work that way? :)

When your macro is that good you don’t need micro. Just send waves of units to whittle down the enemies army to keep them preoccupied while you continue to mine and upgrade and let your spell casters/secret plans ready up
You're correct in saying that the Protoss should have built Battlecruisers. Would have ended this game faster and humiliate the Terran more.
If you steal an upgraded unit with mind control in PvP BW, do you get the upgrades same as you do in the campaigns?
And I see he only has two matches on here. I hope one day someone finds you some or you find more of them, Falcon. What a unique player, Morthada!
There’s a spider mine at 18:00 I’m sure the enemy can see the mind controlled scv building a command center
I think it's FAKE though. This is why:
1. At 8 min P could win with that DR flood
2. That sacrificial SCV just hanging out there for 3 - 4 min
3. The P didn't actually scout the SCV, but the shuttle went straight there

I have done this with zerg and terran i have 600 supply so hard to control them all
Not epic at all. Really disappointing. The terran player made a lot of clumsy mistakes (really, no scan ready vs protoss ?). The 'tos was just toying with him.
lol, yeah, all the same, maybe not "elite," in the traditional sense, lol, but I would NOT want to face off against Morthada. TOO unpredictable, haha.

Scbw recall of deployed tanks is more reasonable and realistic than sc2 abducting deployed tanks. But hey, thats awesome game.
In my limited time as a Protoss BW player, I never liked using storm against Terran. Tanks out range Templar, negating their utility. A good enemy always has turrets or Goliaths to cover shuttle play; I’m only willing to drop zealots on tanks.
Man I still play Free for All and with Protoss I always try to get the mix with all three races its fun and hell expensive as well but its always fun. In this specific match the protoss player should have gone for ghost that would have given him him the end
They allowed Dark Archons to mind control builder units for other races because they decided that it wouldn't be imbalanced because the amount of resources necessary to make it work would be overwhelming to the point of where you would win anyway.
