yeah in ZvT I think Zerg should always have at least one Queen. so many instances where the damaged CC lifts or you don't quite finish destroying it or it's being repaired as you're damaging it... Queen would help snipe those. And the parasite ability is very useful so no need to research Broodling
Even though I was a Zerg player back in the day, this has to be one of the BEST games of BW you've ever cast! Not only because of the quality of the play of the pro's and the uniqueness of the strategies they used, but also in the quality of your commentary, following of the action and explaining strategy as well. Your BW uploads are truly a highlight of my day. Thanks Falcon, and keep up the good work!

12:17 Whaaaat? Defilers are definitely the most consistently killed unit with feedback, they have pretty low HP and can reach max energy with consume right after they're born!
Fair point! That said, I can count on one hand the number of games I've cast where protoss feedbacks a defiler.
@@FalconPaladin Well that's what makes featuring seriously under-utilized abilities and tactics so kule; like overlord infested terran drops, or allying your opponent to achieve a full spider minefield surround before you unally and massacre them, or simple whack-a-mole burrow-ling harass in the early game, etc. etc.
The most awesome stuff is super rare, argh it's so frustrating the games I've never recorded~!

Anyone else think that around 20/30 mins some of that point a squad of 8-12 mutas would've worked well? Yes he had lots of turrets so not good against bases, but, not many goliaths out (more later on) and loads of tanks mines etc which can't shoot up. One wave force goliath/valkyrie production clear out a few bits clear out a few mines (in a more cost effecient way than running lings in) and then keep going with ultra defiler lurker ling.

I feel if Hero covered his Ultralisk/zergling attacks with dark swarm he could've tipped the scales.

Does Terran have any answer to dark swarm? It doesn’t seem that they have any units that can even hit in the swarm.
Firebat splash works in swarm, and siege tank splash does, too. And if the tank is attacking from the right side, even its direct damage will affect. It's a weird thing.

It's just me or are there other zergs who wish Hero would try some air swap in the face of soo many tanks being deployed? How many guardians and mutas could have been spawned? Sure, goliath would be the plain answer, but the answer to goliath is another swap into ground crashing defiler zergling ultras scourge. I just wish the zerg pros would exploit the swarm flexibility a bit more

Actually saying Dark Swarm does not stack is the same as if it stacked as it cannot do more than render ranged attacks ineffective anyway. But similar abilities like Storm do not stack indeed.

Maybe it's just a fun game, but Effort is really too good compared to the rest of zergs
Is it just me, or terran players in general are much less strategy/cast oriented, and relies on mass bio/tanks instead? Zerg almost always makes use of LOTS of Swarm/Consume/mass drops/etc. Terrans, with few exceptions, almost always are just much less interesting, if you get what I mean.
To be fair going terran bio is one of the most AMP heavy styles of play. You got to remember just how bad the pathing and how hard it is to not have marines wonder off. But yeah terran mech is totally a safe strategy and fairly predictable.

Dang! That's the 2nd Infested CC I've seen in a cast that was completely abandoned after the infestation. I mean... at least lift off? Pleeeease.
They never use infested terrans even when they're in serious trouble, infested terrans could be used to break down siege tank formations, rush with zerlings and some ultralisks then follow with infested terrans or do an infested terran drop

Marvelous transition into mech. Also, he didn't waste much time trying to assault zerg mid game, instead he properly expanded into bottom left. Securing those bases so early is what allowed Sea to grind down the zerg economically.

I'm not sure about marine suits retaining feses but in lore the marines have a "snatch hatch" a little circular hatch on their crotch that opens for the Marine to pee. Fun fact you can see the hatch in the opening cinematic for wings of liberty.

I think double dark swarm is that the terran cant see burrowed lurkers and cannot eradiate them so..
Great cast & match! I think the reason why Sea didn't do that many Science Vessels was because he didn't have the gas for it. I think he put it to Siege Tanks, I suppose? Either way, he had something like 200-300 gas floating most of the time (which isn't a lot). And although Science Vessels with Irradiate are godlike against the Zerg, there's always the lingering threat of Scourge in the air. Marines are great for that job, but since Sea was transitioning to mech, he didn't have much in terms of anti-air (sure, goliaths can be OK, but they're not the best unit to take out a Scourge flock).
Games with infested CC should get double EPIC tag.

Yep, according to the books the marine power armor is capable of recycling all waste products expelled by the marine, and is an entirely self-contained environment capable of even limited vacuum exposure.
Also, get this; according to lore, the C-14 gauss rifle is capable of firing 30 rounds a SECOND at HYPERSONIC speeds. That's mach five speeds, for those keeping track at home. If you remember the formula you learned in highschool for force, all you need is mass and acceleration, and C14 gauss rifles are said to shoot depleted uranium shells, which are much denser than any steel or iron in the world. If you get hypersonic speeds and multiply that with depleted uranium spikes, you get a boat-load of force flying at you in 30 rounds a second.
Really speaks volumes about just how much the Terran society values warfare to dedicate that much technology to firearms development. A C14 gauss rifle would swiss cheese a modern day MBT like the armor was made of tissue paper. That's not even an exaggeration. ONE terran marine could take down a fleet of modern day tanks if his aim was good enough and he caught them off guard. It'd just be a matter of switching from target to target fast enough.
I would love to see a late game queen brooding switch instead of endless waves of ultras. Great cast regardless!

I should be playing Starcraft (base campaign 1998 then brood war) for the first time in a couple of days. I have been playing Dungeon Keeper, Total Annihilation, Dofus, League of Legends, WoW, Urban Rivals, then Talisman the boardgame physical version. What pinched me about Starcraft is I saw a friend of mine playing to it 16 years ago and, very recently, meaning a few months ago, I read the story of Starcraft. What I am looking for above everything else in a game is STORY & STRATEGY. Starcraft seems to have both. So I watched videos here. It reminded me of that friend playing Starcraft 16 years ago.
As a Total Annihilation player, wich is pretty similar, at first sight, to me, to Starcraft, except for the Story, I am able to understand what are the main problems regarding Strategy, in Starcraft. First, Units are limited & Second, Resources are limited. Meaning you may only send a certain amount of selected Units to war, one after the other (when the current one happened to be destroyed) & time is against you. I like it.
An observation would be : I already know that I have a singular sympathy for the Zerg.
Interesting path to get to StarCraft, there. :)

the powers of air and harass lie largely in their ability to DISRUPT, from a distance, and from multiple directions at nearly the same time! If executed as well as one can, it can cause SERIOUS damage or even wipe the enemy out early on. It usually does little, yeah, but some of the harasses have been quite destructive and sets opponents back at critical times.
Yellow, nal_ra, nada, boxer, flash, reach, July, bisu, chojja, kingdom, legendary, grrr... , foru, ogogo, ilooveoov, legendary, mondragon. Please do some more with some of those guys
They should use more infested terrans they could cause some serious havoc, but they are never really used

'Best' using Dark Archon against Zerg
Horrible reaction timing from terran. Multiple times he ran all his scvs or marines into lurker fire for absolutely no reason and left them there to die. However his saving grace was even worse decision making from zerg. Stayed on 4 base forever for no discernible reason. You can't stay on even bases with terran and expect to win, and he fell behind. No clue why he didn't expand.
Why Hero stick with single strategy of Ultralisk/Zergling ?
....I want to download this game but idk there is something off about it to me yet I like it and I'm not new to classic/old RTS games ik I will like it yet something is telling me I won't at least this video cleared up somethings I wondered about the remastered. Thanks
