The wife and I did Imogene Pass back in 2018. Loved it! We went from Ouray to Telluride, had lunch in Telluride, and then did Ophir Pass back to Ouray. Although I have driven a 4x4 pickup since 1970 (yes, I'm old) and have a Jeep YJ, we drove down to Ouray in our car and rented a Jeep for the trail (cheaper than driving my 4x4 pickup, towing my YJ down there). We plan to do it again next Fall, to see the colors. Thanks for the video and the memories!
I love this trail. Was there only a few weeks ago enjoying the fall colors. Imogene was icy and slick at the top of the backside past the pass. A little skating and we were fine! Great video!!
3 people died on this trail very recently, perhaps close to the time you were there. Driver was a rental Jeep guide according to the article I read. Very sad.
The 4x4 Tacoma is a very capable truck and shouldn't have any issues, the only question would be clearance and the standard tires over the rough and rocky terrain. I would check with some Tacoma owners to make sure it's doable. I believe I saw some videos with the Tacoma. Good Luck! It's an awesome trail.
Yes I do believe there are camping sites along the trail or nearby at Camp Bird but I would definitely research availability and options. It would be an amazing place to spend the night.
Imogene Pass is a 2 way trail which allows you to travel from Telluride to Ouray or from Ouray to Telluride. Much of the trail is pretty narrow but it does provide wider spots rather frequently which makes passing allowable. Vehicles ascending the mountain have the right of way. One good tip is to depart early when traffic on the trail is still light.

Awesome. That's exactly why I posted it. Glad it could help give you a preview of this amazing Colorado trail.
Excellent video!
I appreciate that. We had a blast capturing this awesome trail on video.
Nice job...I've got a ram 2500 I want to take through there ..a few tight spots next to those vertical scree walls, but it looks doable
I did see some trucks on the trail and they seemed to be doing fine. Best of luck!

Yes. Please be safe on the trails. These shelf roads up high in the mountains are beautiful but unforgiving.
Great video! What did you air-down your tires to?
Thank you. It's an amazing trail. We aired down to 22 lbs for increased traction and to smooth out the ride.
hi i live in mn and have a stock 4x4 2020 tacoma with standard tires 245 75 16 can it make the imogene ride or should i stay away

Any campsites along the pass?
Yes I do believe there are camping sites along the trail or nearby at Camp Bird but I would definitely research availability and options. It would be an amazing place to spend the night.
I didn’t see the one bad curve in there with all the rock
I tried to include the most challenging sections of the trail, but must have missed that one. Appreciate you watching!
Is this a one way trail?
