Our family took a Jeep ride on the 13 Mile Loop which is part of the Logandale Trails system. Located one hour North of Las Vegas, this is an easy and scenic trail running alongside the iconic red rocks. Yes I do believe there are camping sites along the trail or nearby at Camp Bird but I would definitely research availability and options. It would be an amazing place to spend the night.

      The 4x4 Tacoma is a very capable truck and shouldn't have any issues, the only question would be clearance and the standard tires over the rough and rocky terrain. I would check with some Tacoma owners to make sure it's doable. I believe I saw some videos with the Tacoma. Good Luck! It's an awesome trail.

    BG road is just as you've described, not really that difficult. However, if you get over to neighboring Big Bend Ranch state park, there's an unmaintained road there which is the real deal. It is just off the Guale plateau. BBRSP is a great camping and offroad park, and its almost as big as the national park!

    The wife and I did Imogene Pass back in 2018. Loved it! We went from Ouray to Telluride, had lunch in Telluride, and then did Ophir Pass back to Ouray. Although I have driven a 4x4 pickup since 1970 (yes, I'm old) and have a Jeep YJ, we drove down to Ouray in our car and rented a Jeep for the trail (cheaper than driving my 4x4 pickup, towing my YJ down there). We plan to do it again next Fall, to see the colors. Thanks for the video and the memories!

    Is this a one way trail?

    • @michaelsyoutubechannel5857
      @michaelsyoutubechannel5857 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Imogene Pass is a 2 way trail which allows you to travel from Telluride to Ouray or from Ouray to Telluride. Much of the trail is pretty narrow but it does provide wider spots rather frequently which makes passing allowable. Vehicles ascending the mountain have the right of way. One good tip is to depart early when traffic on the trail is still light.

    • @michaelsyoutubechannel5857

      The trails have wider sections every so often to allow enough room for 2 oncoming vehicles to pass one another. It's tight, and you may have to maneuver a bit, but somehow it works. Whenever possible, vehicles ascending have the right of way and vehicles descending should wait until clear.

    Thanks for sharing! Looks beautiful. m camping off Old Ore Road in a month. I'll be coming into the trail near the southside by the Rio Grande and camping about 30 minutes into the drive. I've got a 1500 GMC Sierra 4x4 (no lift) and slightly concerned about road conditions.

      Thanks for the comment. We started on the North end near Hwy 385 and drove south, finishing on Park Road near Rio Grande. We only passed 3 vehicles during the entire 3 1/2 hour drive, but one was a 4x4 truck with little to no lift heading north to camp as you'll be doing. There's nothing too sketchy on this trail so I imagine you'd be okay with your 4x4. All the challenging sections are represented in the video with most challenging being at the 8:00 mark. Enjoy your trip. I'm sure it's going to be amazing!

    • @michaelsyoutubechannel5857
      @michaelsyoutubechannel5857 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had some small branches run up against my Jeep which did a bit of light pinstriping to the plastic edging on my tire flares. Based on that, I would say that with a full size truck, some light scratches are a definite possibility. Best of luck!
