Really fantastic arrangement!,it's great to hear the work of Ludovico Gavioli on one of his own organs!,well done Alberic!,this is not the easiest organ to turn!
As far as i know it has always been hand turned,there is no motor on it at present,yes,Mortier had a deal with Gavioli to supply organs and he added the fronts to them hence both the names.
This Gavioli has really lost its original french Gavioli sound since its restoration. It has all been smoothed out and the reed work is too quiet now. It has been clensed of its true gavioli sound. A big pity.
I listened again to this organ and a bunch of other 65-key Gaviolis and now I think I understand what you mean... you are listening for the sound of a Gavioli FAIRGROUND organ (with an outdoor voicing) when in fact this is a Gavioli DANCE organ (with an indoor voicing). The pipe layout, registers, etc. may look identical, but I would bet that both the wind pressures and the pipe voicing are different between the two varieties of organ.
I certainly do not consider myself any type of authoritarian on Gavioli Organs, ~ only that I so completely enjoy working on band organs & have come into viewing, hearing, & the variety of organs this firm produced is staggering !! This organ playing now sounds impressive to me with the registration changes, the robust bass, the counter-melody playing the melody,= baritones, / ~ & the piccolos answering in arpeggios. It sounds so pleasant to me & I thought it was balanced as far as I can perceive. Would love to hear from other Gavioli aficionados that could help assist me in understanding voicings between dance organs & fair ground organs. ~ So a dance organ is voiced softly, & fair-ground is loudly voiced right ?? ~ Please help me to learn ! ~ Thanks ! : ) L. I challenge you to prove your point with a TH-cam video illustrating two identical reed pipes side-by-side (let's say a saxophone pipe from the middle of the counter-melody section). You can have one voiced like on this organ (which I personally think is a very smooth, musical voicing), and then one voiced like you prefer (whatever that is), and compare and contrast. It is one thing to say something, but another thing to actually play it for people so they can hear the difference.
Dude, are you high? Are you a musician? How long have you been playing, and which instruments? Do you not understand that an instrument has to have BALANCE in order to sound like a MUSICAL INSTRUMENT?!? Now, I may be jumping to conclusions, but I think you are confusing the sound of this instrument with the sound of many English fair Gaviolis which have often been modified over the years. Also, this is a Dutch arrangement and so will not sound like a British arrangement.
Hey ... very beautiful organ music ... *big thumbs up 22* ... greetings and a sunny smile ; )) from Germany " Eddy " P.s. ... Thank you for subscribing to my motley channel ... I'm your channel also subscribe now !

@pauldquam1 Thanks, Paul!
Mooi toch die kombinatie van Ludovic Gavioli & Jan Kees
een dergelijk boek(Aimer) bevindt zich ook bij de 89 toets Gavioli van Henk Veeningen
I think he used an original Gavioli score? Don't know where it came from, though - perhaps from the Henri Bank archives?
