    Removal of indexation benefit is very harsh decision by government,will prove harsh for bjp in votes.... should consider roll back this decision.

      Why don’t you tell US IRS to give indexation benefit to real estate. It’s so regressive that only RE estate tax evaders get this benefit. Believe I have made multi bagger returns in property market. But have seen such a curse of black money… everyone demands cash and all kind of dirty deals are common. No need to benefit such a useless sector at the cost of other asset class. Why doesn’t commodity or REITs get this benefit.

    Why LTCG is not a big deal....A 2.5% increase is big enough to make a dent and removal of indexation....they have nothing else but to tow the line

      It used to be 20% before in real estate with indexation. Do your math, you're liable to pay lesser tax without indexation @12.5%

    Budget 2024 in a nutshell
    Taxes like America Services like Somalia. This Govt should now figure out why they are losing in terms of vote share . But One thing I can say : this Taxation will make India relatively less attractive.

    Ltcg will be increased slowly. Next budget it will go up again. Now it will be staggered way. One year 17.5% two years 15% Three years and above 12.5%

    There's nothing bullish avout the budget. Government has just played it safe !! Food, medical, and education inflation is at its peak. The biggest culprit is high fuel prices !! Unless cost of fuel is reduced, nothing will change. Moreover, there's high unemployment. Where are the jobs ? Unless you want to be a delivery guy in Zomato, etc. or become ola uber driver !! This was not really a budget but a popat !!

      The jobs are there you lot just want government jobs and don’t bother getting skills in any other field i live in the Uk graduated with distinction and I had to apply over 50 times worked as intern, gained skills worked hard to get the job you lot are entitled go move abroad where you entitlement doesn’t work you are treated the same as everyone else and no one cares what degree you have skills are more important

    The best thing about UPA Govt was that the industry veterans had the courage to speak their mind.     Land and labour availability issues need resolution to promote private sector capex. Start ups don/t know how to create project proposals and where they can site bricks and mortar production facilities. Company registration needs streamlining The goods offtake, marketing and distribution platforms need to penetrate into rural areas to bring more people into entrepreneurship
