What an auction and auctioneer! That is the excitement and experience of going to an auction. He was definitely working for the seller to maximize their money. Kudos to this company. Our local auction company was top of the mark, but went all online and then sold out. What a disappointment! eBay now!
That’s crazy! But what’s even crazier is there was more than one bidder to get it to that price so there was at least two people bidding. Maybe it was family members or close friends bidding but honestly no amount of sentimental attachment would drive me to that level of insanity.
It's a 20 yr old at least 6nz block. My brother works at Cat. They used up all the good blocks YRS AGO!!!! That's why ALL these newer gliders are failing and only lasting 100k to 400k before needing rebuilt AGAIN the demand was so high and they'd run out of satisfactory blocks that they started using sub standard blocks they still had in storage for the newer gliders. That goes for pre emission Detroit. Cummins. And Cat motors. They all are junk past certain yr of production I'd rather have an 02 or 03 with original 6nz Block in it than a glider any day

So I've researched it a bit not much but the term REMAN kept appearing in the literature I've read concerning the new content motors. So I don't know if you're a Cat Rep. A mechanic. A driver a little bit of them all as some are but I'm having a hard time understanding how a engine block itself is new and newly casted if you're disassembling it cleaning and inspecting it for pitting and wear and then throwing all new parts crank cylinders etc then a new head on it and calling it "new" to my understanding new isn't reman and reman is kinda new but not still its refurbished. Am I wrong on that if I am let me know I'd love to replace my c15 twin turbo at some point with a 2ws or 6nz serial numbered motor. I know they have single turbo conversions for my motor and basically 6nz ecm or 6nz tunes for my current ecm I'm not totally sure how that works haven't looked into it that far as it's not given me reason to as of yet and I'm hoping to retire before it does lol but if not I'd be very open to going In that direction. I've also been told and have been aware Cat apparently still makes onroad motors pre emission but for countries like Australia New Zealand etc. And have wondered how difficult it'd be to get one of those motors and are they of same sound quality craftsmanship

Shit I have an 07 with original cat motor 1.3 million miles on it custom fenders front and rear WTI's new tires wheels brakes drums wheel seals new rears new 13 spd trans motor platinum rebuild from ATL Cat with paperwork only 300k on build pushing a nice reliability of 600 horse nice daily workhorse custom bumper lighting inside n out new stainless low front visor door visors and rain/wind guards front axle rebuilt 3 axle alignment new compressor new air lines to n from dryer new airlines to bags n tanks all new air valves etc etc on n on NICE TRUCK. Paid 75k for it from a friend have had it 5 yrs now its never let me down cleaned up looks as good as that glider I've got the 8 inch pipes with elbows too extra boxes you name it trucks made me a ton of money always gets compliments hauls fuel n gas every day but for 350k man she's GONE who wants her? I have a stack of maintenance paperwork n receipts to choke 3 elephants to go with it.

Nice as the truck is 1 its a 389 GLIDER NOT A 379 and yeah 34k miles on the chassis body rears n trans but those motors they put in those gliders are NOT brand new they are core blocks rebuilt if they could rebuild em and that truck nice as it is is not 1 of a kind that's a stock fuckin bumper for Christ's sakes. Lol. Paid 75k for my Pete 379 daycab exthd from factory. Million 3 on motor 300k on platinum rebuild right now from Cat 13 speed it's a pre emission 07. Custom fenders deck plate bumper 8 inch straights with low picket elbows clean rust free tractor and have worked it 5 yrs no issues since bought other than wear items. I can only imagine what I'd get for it now. Lol

You need to put the cool-aid down buddy, you keep your little volvo long enough and you will get educated on emissions, and you will be stuck taking it to a volvo dealer for the repairs, pre emission trucks DO NOT break down more than new ones!, get your facts strait!@@Pelinas
To me that peterbilt doesn't worth it at all.with this kind of $, I can almost buy a brand new Volvo or Cascadia with comfortable sleeper.sure will not be 18 gears but good enough

I've run with several guys with 350k in their trucks. Usually at least have sleepers tho but all doing the same work.
