    Also make sure the temp in the cab and sleeper are the same. Mine where different and when I set the engine to idle, the truck went off immediately and didn’t come back in until I set the sleeper temp the same as the cab.

    After I set the interior comfort mode on mine, it runs for about 45 mins and shuts off. Then it never comes on again. The only way I get it to come on again is if I get up and manually turn the key off and on again, and setup the comfort mode all over. Impossible to get any sleep like this. I’m waking up every hour covered in sweat....not fun at all

      Ryder lease truck has been designed to no idle after 45 minutes. The warranty of freightliner dictates this option. Perhaps its Forgotten about the human element.

  • @aruuraa
    @aruuraa 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The key part for me was that green engine indicator. My truck wouldn’t activate interior comfort and kept turning off and only turning back on when the battery got too low. it was super hot inside, and I thought my inverter was draining the battery or something.
    All I did was turn the truck off, and turn it back on and it fixed all my problems. Insane lol.

    I had an older Cascadia and I had to unplug the temperature sensor behind the drive side spot mirror and it would idle all the time. You will get a check engine light,just ignore it. Most of these trucks will run above or below certain temperatures,like 65 and above and 30 and below.

    • @Mikejones011990
      @Mikejones011990 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're trying to hide it from me - was it as simple as popping off a cover and unplugging a harness? I thought about covering it with a piece of tape or something, figuring no signal would be the same as out of temp range.
      I think there should be a limited range by law, because the battery powered HVAC isn't very effective. Sometimes it is, but not reliably. If it's 80°F (actually my dash has to read >=82) outside, it can get upwards of 100° inside. Sleep quality is just as important as duration. Most people need about 68°; even 72° is too high. We capture emissions pretty effectively, so it's really about saving fuel cost. I'm all for conserving fuel, but not at the expensive of safety.
      Sorry about the tangent but it's frustrating. Wish we had a battery powered HVAC system that actually works.

      Used to drive a 2016 which I miss. It didn't have this new anti idle feature. It had an anti idle but it was so old it was easy to bypass. Company put me in a 2020 and can't idle at all. They disabled any way of getting to these settings.
      Fortunately this truck has great APU and it switches on and cools the truck well enough. This will work until I get through my 1st year and leave this crappy company for a real one that actually cares about driver comfort. All new driver companies suck. 😒

    I’m in a 2020 and I don’t have none of those settings but engine idle adjustment. Mine only displays Dash Brightness, Lightning, Units, Time, Language, and custom gauges. And that sucks because my truck will only idle for LITERALLY ONE Minute and not five minutes before performing the idle shutdown.

    • @camc8879
      @camc8879 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here. I found that despite people saying the opposite. If you release the tractor parking brake it will not cut off.(at your own risk) I am in a 21, there are so many options for these trucks and tricks that work on different trucks. You have to find what works for your truck.

      @@camc8879 my company disabled every option I can search for expect one. All the videos I looked at and tried have all failed. Which makes hella common sense is to wedge a small object on the pedal to where the truck will rev enough to keep it idling.

      so this video itself is pretty pointless, what he failed to mention is that you have to turn the rear controls on by pushing in the center button on the vent position selector. Also I have still had trouble with the opti idle shutting off and it seems to work best when I have the truck engine off and then engage interior comfort mode. Another thing I have had to do is adjust the controls in the back sleeper area before the truck shuts off the 1st time, and it has been cycling off/on about every 12 minutes

    TO THOSE OF YOU WHO DO NOT HAVE THIS FEATURE (I DONT) I DRIVE A 2018 CASCADIA
    ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GO TO SETTINGS AND WHERE IT SAYS (CRUISE / IDLE) YOU WANT TO SELECT IDLE.
    AFTER YOU SELECT IDLE YOU WANT TO SET IT TO IDLE AS HIGH AS IT WILL GO. IT SHOULD IDLE SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN 8-10K RPMS
    AND THATS IT!!! THATS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO! YOUR TRUCK WILL NOT CUT OFF UNTIL YOU SHIT IT OFF!
    NOTE: IF YOU SHOULD HAPPEN TO ACCIDENTALLY DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WILL DISENGAGE THE IDLE AND YOULL HEAR IT BECAUSE THE IDLE WILL DROP BACK DOWN TO ITS ORIGINAL IDLE POSITION. JUST REPEAT THE STEP AND THATS IT!
