Your thumbs down videos are always entertaining, but it's always nice to see games you enjoy, makes me want to check them out. I've bought quite a few of the games you've recommended so far and liked them.
Yeah this is a weird one, there are lots of things wrong with this game yet Mack brushes over all of them. When it comes to games that aren't indie though he will complain about every little thing. In another comment Mack says it has a 12-15 hour campaign which just isn't true. I have just rolled the end credits in 10 hours and that is with me doing a fair few of the side quests and unlocking all upgrades too.
Well to be honest I feel like if the core of the game would of been shit he'd of said more negative things about repetitive and easy mini games, but since it's good game those are accepted.
Mack since you didn`t mention it: you would love Sunless Sea man. seems most of the elements you enjoy were lifted from that game. the atmosphere is so fricking good in that, plus an actual economy and a pretty great role playing game on top
I think anyone who says this game is too expensive is blinded by AAA graphics, it has a 12 - 15 hour campaign and 30 hours if you want to max it all out. Most AAA have between 5 and 12 hours campaign with the rare exception having a lot more (Hogwarts, Elden ring etc) I mean look at RE4 it's a 15 yr old game spruced up with AAA graphics and some added QOL features with a similar length campaign and it's £55 thats three times the price of this and imo it's not as much fun.
Great review, might have to check this one out. I've been considering Spacebourne 2, like to see a video from you on it. It appears to be trying to do the same kind of thing as Elite Dangerous and I know how much you love that genre.
I don't usually go for these types of games but this one had me hoooked. The atmosphere played a big part in that, love the subtle horror theme in the game.
I actually preordered this one. I have a weird liking for fishing minigames for no reason that makes sense and I love Lovecraftian stuff. So its specifically aimed at some niches of mine :)

Just preordered this half way through your video for the steam deck. Just got the deck about a week ago and was struggling to get into any games, this one looks like it could be perfect for the deck. Thanks for the review, wouldn’t have known about it if it wasn’t for this video
@@_Makanko_ I’m using it when chilling round the house. I have a pc which I game on mainly but just haven’t found a game so far that felt right for the deck. Apex runs great and all but I suck with the built in controller when playing PvP. So far I’d say it’s pretty good, if you don’t have a pc it’s going to be a lot better but if you have a pc you may find it a bit redundant if you get me.. hope any of that makes sense for you haha.
@@TheGamingClipHUB I had similar issues finding games that are good for the deck. I found cult of the lamb and inscryption are a couple of stand out games that felt a good fit for me

Also a lot of games support the deck controller but only some games SUPPORT it properly to the point it feel like it all makes sense. It’s cool but like I say, when you have a pc sat upstairs it’s tough to not just play on the better machine. I mainly use it now for when I’m having a smoke to play games or if my girlfriend is on my PC
That is one game I completed 100%. Did everything in game and achievement wise. And I found everything myself, what took some time especially for these damn dark rocks with their visions. Took me 24 hours, but I took my time and never used my powers or the binoculars until the endgame. What was a big mistake as I experienced in the end. Awesome game.
I like it! Kinda like a single player Sea of Thieves in a side mission sense. Hell I wish SoT had a single or Co-Op mode to do this not having to worry about PvP.

"Can be a bit repetitive" on the other hand, I don't think sea chanties would exist if working the waters wasn't repetitive and perilous. This looks like one of the better _sea trucker_ games, which is oddly less saturated than the _space trucker_ genre.

Mack if you have time between these new releases take a look at Spacebourne 2. It seems to be a rough, hidden gem with huge potential to be an excellent space sandbox rpg.
This game reeled me in from the start! What a fintastic game glad I had the opertunaty to play it but some say that's debaitable, nah only squidding I'm just talking pollocks! 🤭
I remember from your first look you mentioned how quick the day/night cycle passed. Did they slow that down or give an option to slow it down? It seems really fast. You go out and do one task and need to get back - especially early when you’re too weak to be out at night.
It's still really fast. It's an integral part of the game though, it creates some stress and suspense for the world, and it's not long before you're required to go out at night for certain tasks. It doesn't need to be fixed if you ask me.
Game looks and plays fantasticly, but the only thing that has me worried is the low completion time. Its around 15h from my experience which does not justify the £21 price tag.

The time doesn't progress faster if you travel faster. So getting faster engines means you can get more stuff done in a cycle.
