‘Lifetime of Work’ is about the struggle of people who give their labor as an expression of their love. I believe now that the most important thing to strive to be in this life is useful. I try and solve any and every problem around me as a sacrifice of servitude for those I care about. This used to be a fairly universal ethos but has become rarer in modern times. The line ‘stay brave in your toil’ reflects the fact that having responsibility and purpose is a blessing whether we can value the burdens of living or not. Man Ben being clean and fully himself is a beautiful thing.
Man ain't that the truth. A lot of us addicts never made it to today. Watched an interview recently that really inspired me with Ben talking about how you can't just get clean you really gotta work on yourself. I got off the drugs years ago but as the song says, there's a lifetime of work to do.

I work 7 days a week. Have for 9 years now. And a lifetime of trauma and abandonment has left me not very capable of showing affection the way “you are supposed to.” But this song puts into words what I’m doing, showing the love I have for my wife and 2 daughters by sacrificing myself to labor away for them. Benjamin just always 100% of the time says what I feel but can never put into words. I honestly can say my life wouldn’t be the same if I had never found his music to connect with.I’m a better man for it, and understand myself more and feel more steady after absorbing his lyrics. His songs are like a mirror to see yourself in. Thank you Benjamin.
I work overtime when nobody else will, never miss a day. It's mundane work I run a small town grocery store, but the value I bring to it is rewarding to my soul. There's something to be said about loving yourself by staying useful. I can't imagine ever retiring and saying I'm done with work.
@@sethduggTheres something even more rewarding to serve one another in freedom and love your neighbor as yourself. I gave my health doing so and would give so much more. I’m far from perfect but I believe Jesus came as the mediator.

Ben you will never see this but you saved me august 26th my best friend committed I had to deal with the weight of my own guilt of not asking if she was ever okay knowing she never was, the same week one of my twin brother committed as well, I don’t talk about this much but I thought it would be fitting in a way to show my appreciation towards you and all you do I appreciate you helping me find the better ways to figure out the ways I feel and why I do what I do, you also have inspired me to be a tramp, to see the world to play my music and see the world for free like a true outlaw Godspeed brother.

I tried to remember that when I start hating my job. You're being of service... and you're getting paid... try and be of service to others and you will find joy in it❤

This song is so much my marriage! My wife is very open an expressionate with her feelings me , well not so much. But while she's at work I spend alot of my free time doing things to our home or four us to better our lives she always tells me she feels bad she couldn't help and I just smile and say you ain't gotta worry about it pumpkin! Alot of people look at me as the strong hard working type (not bragging or flexing or trying to one up anyone I think there's alot of us out here that live the same type of life)
But regardless alot of us men know damn well we'd be a mess without our women by our sides!
P.s I know the men who relate to this song don't buy their wives flowers very often but this song makes me feel like we should

Ive been trying to explain to my fiance that time is the most valuable commodity and when I work those twelves everyday and never have a day off so that the kids can have chuck e cheese birthday parties and such, that I'm giving up my time to bring peace to them...she says the money doesn't matter towards love and I know that it does because if I didnt love her and the kids, I would not work those long hours to bring smiles to their faces...thanks again brother and God bless 🙏

i’m 21, i’ve used my hands to express anger, love, anxiety, every emotion in my body has been expressed with my hands. especially what i do for a living, i’m sitting here listening to this amazing song, reflecting on life. Worried. I can barely hold a shovel anymore without my hands aching and throbbing. i’m sure they’ll heal. but man i wish i would’ve known a better way to express how i feel.

To me, the lifetime of work is the masterpiece of the Self and how necessary that work is to the overall well-being of the world. I expect to be learning lessons from this human existence until my last breath.
