Man ain't that the truth. A lot of us addicts never made it to today. Watched an interview recently that really inspired me with Ben talking about how you can't just get clean you really gotta work on yourself. I got off the drugs years ago but as the song says, there's a lifetime of work to do.
I work 7 days a week. Have for 9 years now. And a lifetime of trauma and abandonment has left me not very capable of showing affection the way “you are supposed to.” But this song puts into words what I’m doing, showing the love I have for my wife and 2 daughters by sacrificing myself to labor away for them. Benjamin just always 100% of the time says what I feel but can never put into words. I honestly can say my life wouldn’t be the same if I had never found his music to connect with.I’m a better man for it, and understand myself more and feel more steady after absorbing his lyrics. His songs are like a mirror to see yourself in. Thank you Benjamin.
I work overtime when nobody else will, never miss a day. It's mundane work I run a small town grocery store, but the value I bring to it is rewarding to my soul. There's something to be said about loving yourself by staying useful. I can't imagine ever retiring and saying I'm done with work.
@@sethduggTheres something even more rewarding to serve one another in freedom and love your neighbor as yourself. I gave my health doing so and would give so much more. I’m far from perfect but I believe Jesus came as the mediator.
Im a bricklayer, i work so dam hard. I love this man he manages to hit home in nearly every song. True country legend, i rate him higher than other artist in the country music
I have a saying as of late... "When we die, all we have is the memories we made and the love we gave"... Ive been trying to explain to my fiance that time is the most valuable commodity and when I work those twelves everyday and never have a day off so that the kids can have chuck e cheese birthday parties and such, that I'm giving up my time to bring peace to them...she says the money doesn't matter towards love and I know that it does because if I didnt love her and the kids, I would not work those long hours to bring smiles to their faces...thanks again brother and God bless 🙏
Ben you will never see this but you saved me august 26th my best friend committed I had to deal with the weight of my own guilt of not asking if she was ever okay knowing she never was, the same week one of my twin brother committed as well, I don’t talk about this much but I thought it would be fitting in a way to show my appreciation towards you and all you do I appreciate you helping me find the better ways to figure out the ways I feel and why I do what I do, you also have inspired me to be a tramp, to see the world to play my music and see the world for free like a true outlaw Godspeed brother.
Thank you guys for putting out videos that consistently make me cry. This is some of the most authentic and emotional music I've ever heard and it's like every video now.
Benjamin is so underrated… I scream this man’s songs everyday. My family tells me when I sing his songs that it’s almost like he wrote them for me. I appreciate every story this man’s told, and sang. Thank you for helping men like us Benjamin… keep them coming please. 🙏🏻
Benjamin and I on the high road, all it took was ignoring the shiny signs on our wandering. Thank you for helping to pull me out of my darkness 8 years ago. You helped me a lot more than you’ll ever know. God bless you and keep you, love from Ohio💛

Service. I forget where I learned it but I want to live a life of service to others. Service to the community. Service to the human beings of the world. I tried to remember that when I start hating my job. You're being of service... and you're getting paid... try and be of service to others and you will find joy in it❤
What a great song ! " Stay brave in your toil you lucky old fool ", what a great line man. There is indeed a lot of different ways to show affection or love to one another. A wiser soul understands this without expecting more or questioning their intentions. Just accept it as their way, be grateful and happy with what they have done for you. Thank you Benjamin for another articulate and brilliant song ! From Steven in America's Dairyland Wi.
Benjamin Tod is a fucking national treasure. I will listen to literally anything he does and it'll hit harder than anything recycled nonsense on the radio today.
This song is so much my marriage! My wife is very open an expressionate with her feelings me , well not so much. But while she's at work I spend alot of my free time doing things to our home or four us to better our lives she always tells me she feels bad she couldn't help and I just smile and say you ain't gotta worry about it pumpkin! P.s I know the men who relate to this song don't buy their wives flowers very often but this song makes me feel like we should
Every time I hear a new Benjamin Tod song, it hits me like a brick wall. Thanks Western AF and Ben for putting out these gems, I can relate a lot to these lyrics.

A fantastic work of art. Another beautiful song from an incredible artist. Thank you for this spectacular piece Benjamin and thank you for capturing it so well to WesternAF ❤
At 62 physical labor was my giving i can still give by definition concerning for my years. If i do not walk a different reality i can only pray that i die while working. because any other death will be hard to bear if dying in a state of incapacity. Every strum from Benjamin Tod resonates like a tender embrace, stirring emotions deep within, often leaving me awestruck and tearful. His artistry, a rare gem in today's world, speaks to the soul, transcending mere music into a spiritual experience. To me, he stands not just as a musician, but as an icon of profound inspiration and reverence.
i’m 21, i’ve used my hands to express anger, love, anxiety, every emotion in my body has been expressed with my hands. especially what i do for a living, i’m sitting here listening to this amazing song, reflecting on life. Worried. I can barely hold a shovel anymore without my hands aching and throbbing. i’m sure they’ll heal. but man i wish i would’ve known a better way to express how i feel.
Amazing.... more i listen to it the more i feel connected to what hes putting down.... i live on the ashpalt and working.... its all i ever known. I show my life with my hands and hold those who i love close

Ben strums his guitar like cradling a lover’s body. His voice is true, pure and strong, vibrating with his heartbeat. And his words… Ben’s lyrics always weave through the soul and mind, briefly juxposing the oxymoron of mortality and the eternal free spirit of man. Beautiful, once again!
Amazing. "Stay brave in your toil, you lucky old fool." And "I'm free where ever I am, as long as my hands carry too much to hold." Stay brave in your toil you lucky old fools, and we are all better for it. Thank yall.
