...because the ones who make these laws, don't have to deal with the consequences. They have ordinary people who turn up every day and have to deal with this trauma. I think they aren’t there because most of them are despicable, intentionally ignorant scum, who just don’t care what vile things happen to anything that isn’t them!

@Northstar.131 get massive pay increases in this time of cost of Living woes for people who actually turn up for work and work in excess of the legal 38 hours per week, they get that increase, which contributes to inflation, and the cost of living!
They should have been planning for and diversifying our exports, instead of putting them all in one basket. During the
p a n d e m I c producers looked for other markets, but albo undid that work recently - now we're dealing with our major and majority buyer having a massive turn down in their economy, one which has been evident for all this time. They've failed to identify and diversify what now is a massive downturn of many billions to the federal budget, one which will only be filled by taxing all Australians at a much higher rate, and/or a drop of services to the Australian public. They've mismanaged the economy appallingly but that won't mean a cut to them or having to turn up and face up!!!

Any of your colleagues who are opposing this bill should be made to go an sit with the dying babies to see what this is really like. If they can't rely on good conscience to help these poor babies then maybe a guilty conscience would. If that doesn't even work, then they have no business looking after this country at all because it shows a lack of humanity that is quite frankly horrific..

Late term abortion should never have been legislated we need to pressure our State politicians to overturn this horrendous legislation.
It beggars belief that anyone would vote in favour of this.
I roughly remember several years ago a woman told her story of when she was pregnant and what her doctor told her she should do. When she was heavily pregnant, she had an ultrasound and the doctor told her the child had spina bifida, and suggested she have an abortion as the child wouldn't have a normal life. The woman said she wanted to go full term anyway. The doctor then insisted that the child would require full time care 24/7 and that it would be a heavy burden on her. The dear woman insisted she wanted to have her child period.
When it came for the child to be delivered, it was born perfectly NORMAL and perfectly HEALTHY (no spina bifida). The woman also indicated she could never forgive herself had she taken her doctor's advice to terminate her child's life finding it to be perfectly normal.
What does this tell you about some doctors motives when they have taken an oath to do no harm!

Too many times since C19 was released, have we heard from Federal parliament, that this decision, or that mandate, was a decision that rests with the State parliament. Perhaps that should be changed, on certain topics of national interest. That's part of the reason why the country is in the mess that it currently is. Too many parliamentarians, and too many levels of government. More "governance" does not equate to better outcomes for the citizen public.
I think the majority of NOES voters for this issue, was either: the individual Senator has had an abortion themselves (they still feel the guilt), they will vote against anything Senator Babet put forth (so purely political hatred of their opposition), or, they want Australian children to die.
My point is: they refused to connect with their human decency (do they have any?) to vote for further debate/inquiry on why Australian babies are born and left to die. Those who voted NO to this, have the blood of Australian children on their hands.
It must also be very traumatic for those placed in a position of watching the babies slowly die on these tragic occasions what support and voice are they given to move forward when they have done so much for so many as frontline healthcare professionals they didn’t choose this either. Peace and Love to those and their families it can’t be easy. I appreciate the frontline healthcare professionals and haven’t forgotten their daily struggles and contributions to our society.

In my humble opinion there are two reasons for an abortion, where pregnancy was due to a disgusting rape and to save the life of a mother. Other than that, the population have had ‘the pill’ for 60 + years, the ‘morning after pill’ for 20+ years and condoms for 2000+ years, do you think a certain amount of responsibility should be thrust on shoulders of those responsible.
It’s inherent for adults to protect children, to allow abortions up to birth is obscene as is watching an empty chamber in parliament on this and many other important topics.
