Salonen + Stravinsky = two of my favourite things combined! My best greetings to Esa-Pekka from Finland!

I am unbelievably mesmerized by Maestro Esa Pekka's presentation of Stravinsky's music in this context!! I recently re-connected with Stravinsky's choral music at an SFS (San Fran) Stravinsky Festival concert past 2019 Fall. Brilliantly done with amazing sound quality and I keep returning to this piece many times. Thank you ! Huge fan of both now !!! EPS supposed to start as new director of SFS in Fall 2020.

5:21 - Brief moment of synergy between Salonen's hand gesture and the sea gulls.

Its funny to think of Igor strolling along Venice....much different then no doubt. Prior, all the post modernists lived in SM too: Schoenberg, Adorno, Brecht, Horkheimer, et al. Make of that what you will

A religious experience is one of meeting a Person. I'm not entirely sure why the rituals are there, but perhaps it's just as well they are.
