@@RhapsodyOfJoy VERY eloquent. I agree. I have read many of his notes about the pieces he has composed. It enhances the listening experience to know the story behind the music. I continue to be more impressed as I gain an understanding of who he is.
And this picture of him is one of my favorites. (sigh - wish he could be cloned)
It might have been shortly after this that I saw him conduct at the Proms
