    I'd love to see that happen. The park will still be in the state of California, plus most of the rides, especially Railblazer can be relocated to Fresno( while frequent CGA visitors from The Bay Area will still have a park to go to, even if it is a couple of hours away)

    If this does happen we could possibly see one of the best theme parks in California being built. Because not only will this be a brand new theme park but it would leave them a lot of space to work with for future expansion. Plus tourism will go through the roof.

    I was at cga, and an employee told me that the land will not be turned into anything else, and stands as amusement park ground, so even if they were to tear it down, it would still be a theme park. The rides will most likely stay.

  • @SS-xs1tg
    @SS-xs1tg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Cedar Fair will want to make money and relocating will not work. You would make more money relocating the rides to different parks and marketing them as new. Even if a buyer bought the rides they wouldn’t make as much long term. As far as I know Cedar Fair probably is more than happy to lose a park in California. With the high taxes and strict safety regulations they’ve had a few nightmares with their parks there. The Windseeker drama comes to mind at Knotts. It’s just not an easy state to run an amusement park meant for thrills in.

    They need to move them to Gilroy at Gilroy Gardens. Its way too hot here in Fresno in the summer, and not a big enough population, also we're among a high poverty rate

    As long as the City of Santa Clara doesn't rezone the land from being a theme park into a commercial area, then it must stay as a theme park. The City of Santa Clara is the only one that can save it now by not rezoning the land for the new land owner.

    let's face it, Demon, Grizzly and Railblazer are probably not relocatable, yes wooden coasters have been before but not a CA one with tons of extra earthquake bracing, Flight Deck and Patriot are both very much terrain based so the land would have to be specialized to accommodate them or they would need to be modified, so that leaves Railblazer and Psycho Mouse for the new park

  • @gabe438

    Let’s move it east towards the valley maybe somewhere near Livermore or Stockton, still close enough for th Bay Area and could bring in a lot more stuff and new rides

    I'm surprised that Six Flags has not gone after California's Great America for copyright infringement because of the name of the park.

    • @coasterswithmatt
      @coasterswithmatt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The two parks used to both be owned by a different company, then Cedar Fair bought this one and Six Flags bought theirs, so that’s why they both have the “Great America” name and they both have the same entrance carousel and fountain.

    • @flashback0978
      @flashback0978 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Marriott opened both of the nearly identical parks together under the name of Great America, that lawsuit would be laughed right out of court

    • @seanlewis1148
      @seanlewis1148 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They were both brought about by the Marriot Hotel chain back in 1976( California's location being the first, followed by it's Illinois counterpart in the same year..in effect, celebrating the countries bicentennial year).
      Years later, the California location would be sold to the Paramount company whereas it's Illinois twin park would be sold, and still under ownership of Six Flags.
      For the California location, IT, along with other North American parks under Paramount would later end up being purchased by Cedar Fair:
      King's Island
      King's Dominion
      Canada's Wonderland
      Carowinds
      While the aforementioned parks were more desirable for Cedar Fair, California's Great America wasn't necessarily what the company wanted in the deal. The park was owned by the City of Santa Clara and only operated and managed by Cedar Fair for a time until they took full ownership of the park...ONLY to turn around and sell it to a Bay Area based real estate company, Prologis for $310M, causing CGA to shut it's doors permanently within the next 10 year...possibly even earlier.

    • @flashback0978
      @flashback0978 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seanlewis1148 well technically the park was purchased by Kings Entertainment - Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Carrowinds, Canada's Wonderland which was eventually purchased by Paramount

    • @MrRobarino
      @MrRobarino ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would Six Flags sue for a park they sold off? You also have no understanding of what a Copyright actually is. Maybe you should check your facts before making stupid comments like this.
