I'm a mother of five 21,36,39,43,45...had my youngest at 40 nan to three 16,19,24 ..my grandson is older than my youngest...They've enjoyed growing up together ❤
A man who has never married or taken care of a child gets upset by a few hormonally driven mood swings, give me strength. What would the sleepless nights of crying have driven him to? Sounds very selfish and green behind the ears.
"Sandra needed this child to keep us together." It should NEVER be a child's job to keep their parents together. What a horrbile task for that poor baby.
Thank you. I had a very similar comment for my mother. She said "aren't you glad to be alive?" and I said "no, not really, no". She wanted another boy and was disappointed that I had the nerve to defy her. My childhood and early adulthood was shit.
Unfortunately, I was that child. I'm one of six in total, last of the first marriage and was "the one that should have saved their marriage" literally was told that in a bitter way several times throughout my childhood -selfish. My parents split when I was 18 months old, my mother remarried a year later after that and ploughed her attention into having 2 more. Sidelined, completely sidelined. I moved abroad at 17 and never looked back. They have their unit, I have mine. Albeit in a different language. 😊
It is selfish on both sides. Think of the poor kid when he is graduating high school. I guess he can give up his life to take care of his parents in their dotage.
Exactly!!!!!!😢😢😢😢😢😢 He,s a very self centre. He what's a rosie ride. Life not like that. You take the rough with the smooth. At least she as a great personality He does,t.😢😢😢😢😢😢
this is a beautiful ending story. I dont understand why people are so judgmental and critical....Lets wish this couple the best and a lot of love, health and a happy family
Maybe because it's freaking selfish?! The kids will barely be an adult before their parents are old enough to be considered seniors and could die any day. Imagine being 20 years old, just starting your 'real world' life and not being able to because your parents are too old to care for themselves, are retired and want you to help them around the house instead of let you live your life carefree? Imagine not wanting to go anywhere because you don't know if tomorrow will be their last day and you don't want to be miles away. It's not beautiful, it's selfish, unfair and inhumane.
Sorry if this was a few years back as far as the production ... the lady looks older than 56...just based on her image and style. Something seems off here. Update: already half hour in...Michael does not even like her ...so why would he even be a part of this??? He even seems odd or maybe he's a gay man or is a con man. He's 10 years her senior...and again odd persona. Update 2: He's a gay man that wanted to have a child and used her without paying her to do so. Sick Jerk. That's my belief...but as I said earlier, he's a bit odd and off for the situation he put himself in. He's a gay man using an older woman as a surrogate. Eeeesssh..what a naive woman. Sad for her though.
If she takes care and loves the child who are we to say ? I bet she’ll make a much better mother than many of the young girls I’ve seen lately !!! Even better I think !!!! ❤️🙏
It's not about love etc it's about caring and not being selfish. There is a reason women have a body clock. It's different if it happened naturally. Michael wanted a abortion. This is crazy

What an absolute wimp that man was, to leave his decision making until shes finally pregnant, unbelieveable, he should hv thought all that out, before he took that step. Shes's better off without him, because, he was a weak man without a backbone. Shes a strong lady, & deserved better. Pity her family did'nt rally around her instead of being so judgemental.
There is a reason why he at 47 was never married and never had a child, he was never mature enough to do it, even not mature enough to built a relationship, he is a 47 tear old child. I don’t think she dod it to hold the man, I think she just wanted to make him happy
I'm late to this as I've mentioned on here just now.....he's a gay man using an older woman as a surrogate. He's still living at his own house for a reason. Just sad. So obvious at the same time.
@deborahbergman3566: What makes you think, that he's gay? He had been unmarried and childless for 47 years, if he was gay and wanted to live a straight life, I'm sure, he would have done it earlier.
I know a woman named Doris, she was 51. Her youngest child had just graduated high school, and her and her husband were looking forward to a bit of empty. Several months later, they found out that she was PREGNANT! Naturally and unexpected, but pregnant at 51 nonetheless. She gave birth, naturally, and had a beautiful, healthy baby girl. That child would now likely be graduating or already done so since this story took place around 20 yrs ago! Doris and hubby would now be close to 70. So it can happen. I'm turning 50 this year, my kids are all grown and out on their own. I would likely have a heart attack at the Dr office if he told me that I am pregnant! I just got finished raising the 3 I have! 😂

There I was thinking I was too old when I had my last baby at 33. Feeling tired , aching and sick til day she was born. Very brave lady. Best of luck for her and baby xx
Has anyone got a crystal ball? My parents had my sister in 1954 & myself in 1956. My parents (aged in their early 50's) both died in 1985. I was 28, my sister 30. I conceived naturally, had twins, at 36, as a sole parent. I'm 66 & my son & daughter are 30. There's NO guarantees about ANYTHING, in life, ever! Basically its all to do with this "older couple" & their family & friends...Nobody else! Support them if you can. If not, keep your mouth SHUT!
I was a single parent, my son was 13 when he had to nurse me through a week of food poisoning and its after effects. Children are incredibly resilient. What if a single parent became paraplegic through accident? Kids can learn a lot through the care and nurture of another human being. So, the daughter in my opinion is closed minded.
My mom was 30 when I was born. She was 46 when she died. So I was 16 and still love my mom, everyday. I think about her every single day. I am 47 now, and I would so, so, so love to have a baby. But I guess I'm too old now. Not that I think, I wouldn't manage it. I'm sure I would. So I am thinking to myself: I still have a pretty good egg reserve for my age (I tested it). So I think again and again. Lets go to Spain, and have a baby. You have no idea what it's like to have to carry around an unfulfilled desire to have children.
Have your baby/ babies. As long as you are in decent health, nature will allow it. Our grandmothers had babies from their teens well into their 50s and some even their 60s. Don't worry... Go for it!
My dads aunt got pregnant naturally at 55 and had a healthy baby girl. It was a shock to say the least but I believe God has a purpose for everything. I’m currently trying at 40 and have been looked down upon. I could care less of others opinions though.
Don’t let anyone discourage you! Go for what you believe in. Unless any woman has been through the challenges of infertility or difficulty conceiving, they cannot understand. May God meet your heart desires 💕.
I had 7 babies in two marriages….I had 2 sons then 5 daughters. I was 18, 21, 26, 29….then in my second marriage I was 36, 40 and 42. My oldest son died almost 5 years ago. He was a CPA and his death is still a open homicide investigation and the person whom has been looking at is the woman to whom he had been married to for 20 months at the time. I miss him so very much. Thank God for my younger son and my 5 daughter! I loved having all of my babies at each age…young and older. We are 75 and 76 and our youngest is 33. I also have a total of 26 grandchildren…so wonderful! Don’t let anyone discourage you. My grandmothers each had 6 children…the youngest of whom were born in 1918 and 1925…all born at home…all perfectly normal and perfectly healthy. Enjoy your next baby……life is wonderful!
40 is still young! My mom had my younger sister at 41 and I’m 40 going thru ivf. The “decline in fertility at 35” is based on French data from the 1800s. Health has come a long way since then
I had my daughter at 42, she’s 20 now. The best thing that happened to me, I got pregnant the first month of trying. My sister in law was 45 when she had her 3rd and my friend was 44. Shame on people if they look down on you, which I doubt they do. Feel proud you’re not old
Go for it girl. I had problems from the start at 19. First baby I lost at 5 months 2nd baby after fertility a son. And 9 years later a girl. All told took 13 years to have 2 kids. I am 1 of 9 kids and my parents and siblings had kids when they wanted them. I was the only one who just wanted to get married and have kids and couldn't. So sad. Goodluck to you both.x
I don't understand her decision but it is not mine to understand. She seems like a very sweet lady who will clearly give a child lots of love. After all there are plenty of babies born to young mothers who drag their children up and neglect them this baby was very much wanted. I have just turned 54 and cannot imagine having a baby at my age I am to damn tired to contemplate getting up to a baby in the middle of the night. I normally see older women wanting a baby if they have never had children for whatever reason so it was interesting to see Sandra wanting another baby when she already has had children. I guess in the beginning she wanted to have a child as Michael had never had one, for me that would not be reason enough to consider getting pregnant at my age. Regardless she seems to have enough energy and motivation to raise a child at her age. I wish her well ❣️
I wouldn't cook him a dinner after he abandoned me. It's easy for him to just walk back in after she has had a lot to cope with because of the pregnancy.
my mom got pregnant at 47 and gave birth to my sister. There are 18 years between myself and my sis. She basically had grandparents as parents. They soon had health problems and she had to be careful not to be rowdy at all. She had to caretake them here and there. And these people are older (?!). Good luck little infant. I hope your mama’s love and silliness will get you thru.
He needed to be open and honest from the very beginning and not lead her up the garden path. She seems such a lovely woman. Regardless of what people may think I wish them all the very best. The daughter is so negative .
He is an absolutely beautiful baby boy! I hope his mom takes care of herself and concentrates on this baby. She would be jeopardizing her health to have another. I pray that God will bless this little family. ❤️🇨🇦🙏
When I was born my mother was 41 and that was considered as an old mom (my parent met each other when they were not super-young anymore….) ¿”,':My friend had a young mum, and that mum died when she was 56 of an heart attac. My mum died when she was 86. So………you never can tell what happens in life!ł
He looked miserable when the doctor said your pregnant. Those werent tears of joy. You could tell he was unhappy that it took and knew he should have said no and was now trapped in crazy land with this old woman trying to have a baby.
I have a friend up north in uk who has been dealing with a serious illness since she was 34 and until she was 54 she’s not been able to conceive and was too sick to have a child now she’s on new more natural treatment and she’s barely unwell anymore she’s been given the all clear for IVF with egg donation as her eggs are no good from her illness treatment making her sterile now she’s fit and healthier in a stable relationship and is a young energetic 54 (more energy than me and I’m mid forties) so in these situations and seeing a friend with her story where she effectively lost 20 years of being able to have a family from her past illness. I think depending on circumstances, the situation the person (mother) and their support network I feel it’s okay their body their lives..
did anyone, Doctors or family members suggest she see a therapist to talk about her motivation and the need to give birth? it's not going to be her baby so why not adopt? ya, i really wonder why the act of giving is so strong? has she had a therapist? as a loved one could you suggest it? her husband or partner should help encourage her to do that and then make an informed opinion. good luck to her and i'd like to know what you and others around her think?
@@honeyowen3163 I agree, but it's a bit late in the day to suggest it to the woman in this video! It probably should be part of the physician who aided them to ensure that a woman is thinking straight when she is past her menopause yet still desires to conceive. I do think 35 is too young to stop all help, but perhaps 50 is more realistic. Most women can get by quite well until they reach 70+, and that gives them 20 years to raise a child. It depends a lot on their state of health. I have recently lost relatives who were fit well into their nineties, and all 3 lived to almost 100!
@honeyowen3163: It is her baby, genes don't make someone a mother. She carried him, gave birth to him and raised him. Should help encourage her? If you watched the documentary till the end, you should know, that the baby is already born...
Im 57 and have just been babysitting my twin grandchildren aged 2, for a day. I love them so much❤ But was I relieved, when the parents came to pick them up? Over the moon happy🎉 There is a place and a time for everything, no baby when you are 57. Way too selfish😢you cant have everything just be course YOU want to. I had two of my children at 23 and 24 and my last ones at 37. Such a difference in how much energy you have😅
@@meera2531 Again, well said and Truth. Also, think about it. Women are meant to have babies their life long : in the earliest times people didn't get older than 20-30 years of age Love your way of thinking, like a warm bath. Thank you for that ❤🙏❤️
I admire this doctor´s bravery because he is breaking taboos and aside from the pregnancy there are grannies in society who are practically raising their grandchildren for their offspring. So I don´t view age as a barrier. X
From the start, I had an uneasy feeling about Michael. I still do. Something is not right about him and she is such a joy. She deserves better. I hope Michael will truly step up. I dont trust him.
I had an uneasy feeling about Sandra, as in actually having quite a controlling personality. I imagined that especially under the influence of hormones she was indeed difficult to be with. I agree with her daughter - that there is a sound reason why nature switches off fertility at a certain stage - that child will lose both parents quite young, and the parents will probably never get to see or engage with any of their child’s offspring in the future. Basically, its selfish. Sorry! Thats just my opinion.
@@jenniferevans2046haha... before birth control women were having babies from their teens well into their 50s and some even their 60s till menopause. There's no reason why an older couple should not become parents if nature allows it. Is your opinion greater than what nature deems fit? The whole end of fertility BS is just to sell fertility treatments etc.
@@jenniferevans2046Plus is there any guarantee that a young parent won't die or have terrible health or be an abusive parent? Do child of young people never become orphans? Sandra had Joshua 21 years ago now almost and another son 2 years after Joshua called Alex. Sandra Lennon of Byfleet, Surrey, who already had two adult children from her first marriage, gave birth to her son Alex in October 2004, at the age of 59. It was her second child born after IVF treatment, the first of them, son Joshua, had been born in the beginning of 2003. I wonder how they are all now?
i dont see a problem with it people are living longer and healthy lives and you can look at it another way who raises the child if the mother dies? grandma ,if she says shes raising her grand child no one has a problem with that but when its her own child people are all up in arms with shock and disaproval
Been thinking about this after watching it a second time. You can die in your 20s. Having children and keeping busy even without kids has been proven to help you live longer. They could live into there 90s and be fitter and be healthier than a struck down 20 year old
We had our 9th when I was 39. We didnt feel old then but 6 years later its different then with our first and to think of me being 59 when she is 20 dh 5 years older is makes us cry. She will miss out on so much our older kids got.... who knows how long we will live. The time my husband and I will get with eachother will definitely look different from 39-59. We will have been parenting for straight for 40 years! There comes a time you have to say your done, unless God decides different.
39:00 Awwwwww he came round to his senses. ♥️. Wishing the lovely couple a happy, long, fun filled life together and as a lovely little family. 45:52 🎉congratulations! 👶🏻👨👩👦
I was adopted and my adopted parents were 55 & 53. By the time i was 11 i was sent to live with any relative that would take me. They were to old to adopt me, he certainly didn't want me and i will never understand why they were allowed to adopt.
There are no guarantees in life. My mother had me at 37 but has always been the most abusive and toxic parent. Young parents can also die and leave the child an orphan. There are literally no guarantees.
Rocco cowan why? Some people just age rapidly, while others barely seem to age.... then you have the normal aging process....I just think he is on the aging fast track, sad for him😢
I was almost 42 when i had my youngest child and that was enough. I had loads of health tests to make sure baby was ok. She's nearly 5 years old and although she has some health issues - autism spectrum even though she's very vocal. I have 3 kids. My older 2 kids are now age 16 and 19.
I tend to think that he just got terrified, cold feet, whatever you want to call it. As to whether they will stay together till "death do us part", I have my doubts, lol.
Minor update: I read an article written in 05 that she went to have another baby named Alex, but she kept the plans to do IVF again a secret from Michael (they never lived together) and this caused a huge strain on their relationship, so he didn’t even know that the baby was born until 2 weeks after. Her kids have disowned her. Michael and Sandra got divorced. The daughter Lisa is mad that her mom has portrayed a happy family life when it’s far from the case. Sandra felt like baby Joshua needed a sibling to grow up with so that’s her reasoning for having a second baby.
I can't believe he abandoned her through the most difficult time. I would be absolutely furious. I dont think I'd be able to feel the same again about him
I agree with them I'd be angry if my mom did this as well..she has beautiful grandchildren why have another to not be around when he's 25 it's very selfish

A man who has never married or taken care of a child gets upset by a few hormonally driven mood swings, give me strength. What would the sleepless nights of crying have driven him to? Sounds very selfish and green behind the ears.
They had an other baby togeather but he never moved in. So he didn’t deal with the sleepless nights
It’s clear why he didn’t settle down sooner. He’s also very strange!
Why is it selfish when a woman wants to have a child at 50 but it’s not when a man at 50 wants to have a baby.
It is too
It is selfish on both sides. Think of the poor kid when he is graduating high school. I guess he can give up his life to take care of his parents in their dotage.
The gift of life is 🌹 loving, period.

All the best Sandra ❤
Descent? 😆 And, how are you so sure they're decent (descent) humans?
This "lovely" lady is thinking only of herself!
She's a completely selfish woman to bring a child into the world at her age and shame on these clinics who think it right these women should conceive!
this is a beautiful ending story. I dont understand why people are so judgmental and critical....Lets wish this couple the best and a lot of love, health and a happy family
Selfish, wait till the kid grows up!
That’s because you must be quite the self obsessed, selfish and entitled type too.
Because the child will spend their early 20's with very elderly parents who will likely need a lot of care.
47?! That man is 47? He twenty years older.
He's never 47! I'm 47!

I'm shocked she married him after he suggested abortion.
Love you Sandra. You are the sweetest. A beautiful baby boy. A gift.
What an absolutely beautiful Baby, Congratulations to you both :) He is very content, because Mum is very content and very experienced, just perfect. x
Sandra is so lovely, I hope life has been kind too her xx
It wasn't unfortunately. She had another baby 2 years later and Michael only visited weekends her daughter disowned her. She sadly died last year
If my boyfriend or husband EVER suggested abortion, it'd be done. Relationship over.
Absolutely! Been there, done that! Now I have an amazing husband who took me & my daughter (when she was 3) & gave me three more precious children, along with my now beautiful 33 year old daughter, and 3 grandbabies from her!

I thought your husband's grandad was 44. Honestly my brain is broken

First IVF, then suggesting an abortion.

Michael is an old curmudgeon for a 47 yr. old man.
She is absolutely marvelous

I watched a documentary on children who care for their sick parent, trust me, they are not happy. The might learn a lot, sure, but at what cost?
Probably worried about sharing her inheritance

My mom was 30 when I was born. She was 46 when she died. So I was 16 and still love my mom, everyday. I think about her every single day. I am 47 now, and I would so, so, so love to have a baby. But I guess I'm too old now. Not that I think, I wouldn't manage it. I'm sure I would. So I am thinking to myself: I still have a pretty good egg reserve for my age (I tested it). So I think again and again. Lets go to Spain, and have a baby. You have no idea what it's like to have to carry around an unfulfilled desire to have children.
Become a foster parent. There are so many babies and children who have nobody to love them or give them a home.

Oh what a lovely story and Sandra is brilliant, so positive! I’d love to know how it all worked out for them.
I wish her well ❣️
This baby must be about 17 now. Hope they've made a happy family. X

And you know what they say about opinions
@@jenniferevans2046haha... before birth control women were having babies from their teens well into their 50s and some even their 60s till menopause. I read an article written in 05 that she went to have another baby named Alex, but she kept the plans to do IVF again a secret from Michael (they never lived together) and this caused a huge strain on their relationship, so he didn’t even know that the baby was born until 2 weeks after. Her kids have disowned her. Michael and Sandra got divorced. The daughter Lisa is mad that her mom has portrayed a happy family life when it’s far from the case. Sandra felt like baby Joshua needed a sibling to grow up with so that’s her reasoning for having a second baby.
This guy is unreal, maybe this is highlighting the reason hes 47 with no wife or child 😮
I can't believe he abandoned her through the most difficult time. I would be absolutely furious. I dont think I'd be able to feel the same again about him
I can't believe how mean her family are being in front of a camera. I can't imagine what they are saying behind closed doors.
I agree with them I'd be angry if my mom did this as well..she has beautiful grandchildren why have another to not be around when he's 25 it's very selfish
Not surprising she has a desire to create new life when surrounded by people like that.
It's their life, and it will give them the strength to be good parents
To get pregnant like that and then even think of abortion is disgusting.
I know, I thought the same. Revolting pair!
Michael suggested it, Sandra said she couldn't do it.
HE is revolting, not her!
It’s the dad that wants the abortion. Just as well men don’t get to decide. He’s a big man baby.
I was 32 when I had my first girl in 1994 ,then I had two miscarriages over the next two years then in January 1999 I had a baby girl , I was 38. Then in December I had my Son who was born in December 1999 I’m 62 now , I’ve had so much shit but I’m happy because I waited , good on this lady for doing what she wants xx
there’s an obituary online for a Sandra Lennon, born 1946-2023 which in 2003 would make her 57, also on her obituary page it asks for donations to a charity called Diabetes UK which it is revealed she has in this documentary :/ I could be wrong and I hope I am but I think she may have passed, RIP
different birthday, she says she was born in 1945 at the start of
The baby is absolutely beautiful-❤
That man is 47?!!!! that's crazy. He looks about 70
My ex boyfriend was 71. I'm 54. He was in excellent condition. He looks way younger than this man
All the power to her. I know at 52 there's no way I have the energy or patience to be pregnant again. Also she should think about the babies future.
