I think they are like bunnies. Very smart and playful. My chinchilla's running in living room.I wach them all the time. Just don't let dem under the sofa or other weird places. They don't destroy things they are too happy to run. After playing like crazy they can try bite something so is best to have some wood sticks and treats. My go to cage, they now they gonna have sand bath.

My sweet boy Chin is 3 & a half months old. I’ve had him a month, he is super smart! He already pees on his rock. I have the exact same 61” playpen, my biggest issue is getting him from the cage to the playpen back & forth safely & stress free. I would most appreciate any suggestions and videos please!! Thank you to all Chinchilla lovers!! ❤️❤️❤️

I would use your dust bath to take him from the cage to the playpen. An enclosed dust bath container. If you set it inside of the cage, and wait for your chinchilla to go into roll around, you can then, place your hand over the opening and set your chinchilla in the playpen.
Video added to the list as well to make.
Thanks for the comments and support on the channel.

I treat my chinchilla as if she would be a wild animal; you don’t just grab one, you coax it out and reward it. Unfortunately I had to pick her up today. At first she willingly let me, but once I needed to place her back in her cage, she would naturally get frightened and slipped a little fur.
I respected her for the night and gave her peace, though I came back and she was perfectly fine! Eating treats and smelling my hands as usual!
