Yes, because while Shirou and Archer are 2 possible versions of Shirou Emiya, they are very different. Archer's Reality Marble shows how he lived his life and afterlife as a machine (hence the gears) while the smog shows how his ideals were twisted while he worked as a Counter Guardian. TL;DR: You aren't a special cupcake for having eyesight :P
im all for team shirou but make no mistake if gil had the time and need to use ea early in the match a bit seriously then shirou would be in deep trouble.
No if Gil wasn’t cocky and just popped enuma alish he would’ve won instantly but ofc he sees himself above everyone which is true but by being cocky he risks himself where here he ended up being injured to the point where his defeat was inevitable.
***** so him saying something like "to think I'd have to go full power on the likes of you mongrel" wasn't him trying? I mean yeah I saw him hesitate when he brought out his most powerful weapon, he didn't want to use it on someone "lower" than him. And he was never good at close combat fighting anyway, kings have people that fight for them, there have only been some that actually trained/went to the front lines. idk
+u wot? Gilgamesh was actually good with weapons during his life, but the Servant version simply couldn't handle the full soul of a transcendental being (he was 2/3rds god in his myth). People keep forgetting that high tier Servants are actually weaker in the Grail War compared to their life, and Gilgamesh is pretty much at the top (because Ea is capable of recreating the Big Bang with enough power even though how a weapon is supposed to create a ball of 1 mm in diameter with a fuckton of energy that quickly expands is beyond me). Cleared up enough for you casuals?
+u wot? Servants are influenced by their myths, to the point that Saber has functional armor. Do you really think that they had armor like that back in the 6th century AD? Or magical nukes on a stick? What the fuck kind of logic do you live on? What the fuck else would Gilgamesh be based upon? Gilgamesh, the fifth ruler of the city state Uruk? That way we wouldn't see all those magical weapons.

Why was this man gilgamesh always been so op he was broken in the fate stay night 2006 and fate stay zero like did his arrogance nerf him or something s full powered Gilgamesh is legit a Demi good slash god
He essentially nerfs himself with his arrogance. Like if he pulled out Ea then the fight would have been over in a second but because he didn't take Shirou seriously it caused him to lose the fight. Its always his arrogance that almost gets him killed. He thinks he's so far above everybody else that he never has to take any fight seriously. @@r.k845 how do you say so? Are we just gonna ignore that the fact that Gilgamesh could beat shirou in a lot of ways I mean the dude didn't even activate a single NP he only spammed gates without even activating a single one Like the older FSN he literally activated 2 np's that can easily take down Artoria
@@joshymoshy1659 He can't activate NP's, only use their passive effects. >b-but strange fake Yes strange fake is poorly written and breaks establish rules regarding Gilgamesh.
That moment you realize that Shirou is stronger than most servants, yes i know Gil was holding back but he still struggled against Shirou when they clashed swords in melee range, Shirou then proceeded to crush said noble phantasm while using an inferior version, if it wasn't for the Gate of Babylon Gil would have been cut in half right there. Gil has a B in his strength parameters this means that in sheer brute force Shirou out classes a good 60% of all heroic spirits. Now when i say most servants i'm talking about any servant bellow rank 3 who aren't that strong anyway( Hassan, Fergus, etc.)
Shirou can't beat any other Servant. He can only beat Gilgamesh cause he is his counter. Gilgamesh has brute force....but Shirou has technique. As a swordsman, Shirou is superior.
I can name 10 servants that Shirou could beat off the top off my head. 1: Boudica(inferior version of Artoria) 2: Every Hassan( i'm gonna count them as one because they have all proven to be completely worthless in combat) 3: Medusa(summon gae bolg, throw, win) 4: Hans Christian Anderson(Dude is a writer not a fighter) 5:Shakespeare(Same as Hans) 6: Sasaki Kojirou(this dude barely fought back a severely weakened Saber who couldn't use excalibur, weapons spam for the kill, if that doesn't work Gae Bolg gg.) 7:Emiya(assassin Emiya not archer(Kiritsugu)) 8:Spartacus(discount Heracles one good weapon spam and this guy would go down) 9:Any servant without some form of immortality or teleportation(Gae Bolg/if their fast enough he might get out with a double suicide, since Gae Bolg rewrites causality him throwing the spear is a non factor it still hits) 10: Shirou Emiya(Ok i ran out of names but he can always commit suicide which kills off another servant by technicality.)
@@bellamydoucette9530 to be honest, shirou cannot defeat gil on his own. The only reason why shirou could defeat gil here was because: 1) he had mana supply from rin to pull off ubw, without it, he cannot use ubw 2) gil was holding back the entire fight as he felt shirou was unworthy of ea (due to his ego), if gil had pulled ea from the start, shirou would have been destroyed along with ubw.
@@hellohelloputput That's Gil's fatal flaw, really. He's too proud to pull out his big guns against "mongrels" like Shirou. Shirou especially pisses him off due to his nature as a copycat with no original weaponry, so that makes him hold back even more due to his pride. If he began every fight by pulling out Ea, he'd win pretty much automatically. And even when he gave in and decided to use Ea at the end, he still hesitated after summoning it, as if he couldn't even believe he was being forced to do it. Shirou's not actually all that strong compared to other servants, even with Rin's extra mana. He's very strong compared to normal humans, but actually kind of weak compared to other servants. Berserker and Saber would wreck him in an instant. Caster might take a bit longer but would almost certainly still win. Archer would've won if he had only wanted to kill Shirou and hadn't cared about trying to destroy his dreams. Lancer would probably win too. He could beat Assassin, and maybe Rider on a good day. One of my favorite things about Fate, especially compared to other franchises, is that while sheer fighting power is important, the outcome of a fight is often determined by something else like a character flaw, a cunning plan, a moment of opportunity, or just a bad matchup. Part of the reason why Shirou wins against Gil is that his UBW is the perfect counter to the Gate of Babylon. The rest is just Gil's refusal to take him seriously until it's too late.
In no universe where Shirou exists and doesn't have plot armor would he defeat Gilgamesh, Unlimited Blade works is an interesting Nobel Phantasm but just using Enkidu to bind Shirou for a single second, long enough to fire a blade through him, would end the fight. Failing that Ea would destroy the reality marble, just like in Fate Zero.
The thing is that Gil underestimated Shirou and never tried to go anywhere near full-out. He wanted to show Shirou that a mere copy can never win an thus tried to spam-kill him. If he used his golden armor, he would have no scratch. If he used his artillery from the depth of his weaponry, he would have bombed Shirou, if he used Ea earlier, he woulda smacked Shirou, if he had used the Chains to pierce, bye bye Shirou. He could have even flewn into the sky with his golden flying vehicle from Zero to bomb Shirou.. But he is a dickhead who can't accept that he has to put in at least a bit more to kill a master.
To me, it's not that Shirou has plot armour. It's just that Gilgamesh has the opposite. He's weak to plot of him being arrogant. Power level wise, Gilgamesh is almost second to none, mostly because his Ea is a 'lol, you're done' button. However, it's his arrogance which leads to his downfall. Anyone can argue that there's no way Gilgamesh can lose if he goes all out, and they would be right. However, if Gilgamesh took everything seriously, without arrogance, then that's a character which has no flaws and is basically perfect, i.e. he would never lose. That just won't do, that would make Gilgamesh a Gary Stu type character. That's why I have no problems with such a scene. BTW, this is all a personal opinion of mine. You might not agree and that's fine. Just thought to give a perspective.
Nah bro, Ik Gil is great but this Gil in this UBW route is nothing more than a kids throwing his toys like stupid and not even know how to use weapons by hand. That why UBW route suck :p
@@xanhtoi357 Not true. In Gilgamesh's legend he had a widely known reputation for his close combat skills. In Zero, Tokiomi even questioned why Gil chose the archer class when he's best suited for close combat. The reason being because the Archer class has the independent action skill. In fact, the only reason he fights by firing weapons at people is because of his battle with Enkidu. Before that and even after he would fight at mostly close quarters sword combat. In this fight however, he refuses to take Shirou seriously at all and isn't able to take him seriously as the fight progresses because Shirou trapped him in a box with UBW. Gil knows how to use the weapons he has, it's just he never mastered one besides his big axe (Ea and Enkidu most likely too).
The only thing I didn't like about this fight was that Emiya's powers were borrow from Tosahka. If it wasn't for her Gilgamesh would have merked his ass without trying.
I forgot I made this comment so I rewatched the fight. The dude is free falling while gilgamesh's swords are flying right by him like stormtrooper bullets. We all know gilgamesh can aim a sword lol. The fight is cool, but they nerfed Gil is this fight so the other guy can win in that dimension. And then Gil won anyway, but the holy grail black hole and archer killing him was written to stop the main character from dying.
@@phillicheesestake We never saw Archer disappear, and it's actually stated quite a lot during the episodes with Caster that the Temple has a special aura for servants and magic (that's why she stayed there), so a servant could get enough mana to survive without a master in there. Shirou is blocking every sword off-screen because that's literally how Unlimited Blade Works is made, he can summon his swords faster than Gilgamesh can throw them, if they bothered to animate every single sword blocked the budget would straight up explode. Gilgamesh is also visibly distraught, he's cursing away and clearly not thinking his attacks, Shirou is a small target unlike Berserker who is huge and easy to hit. He only collects himself when Shirou gets Kanshou which is a B rank NP which can damage him, but he summons Ea too late and even hesitates to grab the hilt which gives Shirou enough time to cut his arm off. If you still have doubts, this Gilgamesh is way crazier and more arrogant than he is in the 2006 anime and Zero, that's because in UBW the grail's corruption has eroded his mind, this is visible in his change to a darker clothing style from 2006 to UBW. The clues are there (most of them being outright stated several times), people just get carried away by the animation and don't pay attention to details. If anyone did Gilgamesh dirty is Gilgamesh himself for not recognizing Shirou before it was too late.
@@wrenger3577 no he does it's just that there's nothing plot armour about it. Everything makes sense. Though admittedly in the anime version there are inconsistencies.

If he don't hesitating to use EA that he use to destroy rider world then he wouldn't lose to any body even this MC. But it will be boring if the Villain won. Almost all anime had the MC won, the MC always got rage and boosted power from someone or something. I hope there will be anime that the had fighting like this and have the Villain won. Sorry if i'm wrong but this Is the Fact and Sorry if My English Bad.
When gilgamesh attack his back in Illya`s castle, he avoid it using Mind`s Eye.. Then he disguise himself to save his Mana because he doesn`t have master anymore.. So he save his mana till the end to see how Shirou will beat Gil
+Xandredarium You can rewatch Episode 23. Shirou's ability is briefly touched on there. Each time he copies a weapon, he doesn't just copy it alone but also the experience behind the weapon. Hence when he first started copying Gilgamesh's weapons, he said ' Experience assimilated.' The fight is completely logical if you rewatch the fight. Shirou starts off slow but near the end after he had copied dozens and dozens of weapons, his abilities increased to that extent. This was also shown when Shirou first attempted projection during his fight with Kuzuki. He traced Archer's Kanshou and Bakuya and obtained his experience, thus being able to put up a fight.
+Ace Says Also, it was even shown in episode 20 during Shirou's fight with Archer, as Archer explained, Shirou was gaining from Archer's memories and experience the moment they clashed. Shirou has clashed with Archer for so long that he has been learning his fighting style.
They changed the end and didnt properly explain Shirou's/Archer's abilities. Any weapon he sees he can copy, swords very easily, other things at the cost of more mana. UBW is essentially Gate of Babylon, but with even faster spam which is how beat Gil, he outspammed him lol. In the original fight he actually is about to behead Gil before the Grail interrupts the fight and tries to swallow him, this one made it like Gil had the upper hand when he never did.

Anyone noticed how shirou's UBW has no gears or black mist.

Why was this man gilgamesh always been so op he was broken in the fate stay night 2006 and fate stay zero like did his arrogance nerf him or something s full powered Gilgamesh is legit a Demi good slash god
He essentially nerfs himself with his arrogance. Like if he pulled out Ea then the fight would have been over in a second but because he didn't take Shirou seriously it caused him to lose the fight. Its always his arrogance that almost gets him killed. He thinks he's so far above everybody else that he never has to take any fight seriously. He's strong as all hell but he thinks too highly of himself and that's what gets him into trouble

@@joshymoshy1659 He can't activate NP's, only use their passive effects.
>b-but strange fake
Yes strange fake is poorly written and breaks establish rules regarding Gilgamesh.
@@r.k845 what do you mean by passive effects? Care to explain?
Nah, he cant. Shirou is weak. He said it himself in the fight he cant win against any other servant
Yeah and that would be massively out of character.
Shirou counter guardian would have a real fighting chance. The devil himself called shirou a monster.

@@xanhtoi357 Agreed.

Ubw is fsn (2)
despite the visuals of the anime and everything this whole fight was complete bullshit.
explain
+Puot Top Yeah, i too think that SHiro was fighting a bit too skillfully and on the superhuman side than he realy could here, but oh well.
