After trying the usual, holding power + home button simultaneously failed I looked for other options. Usually there are more than 2 options but I'll suggest just these 2.
First option:
Simply connect the iPhone to a computer and that should power the phone back automatically from there you should be OK.
Second option:
Now this would require a little bit of experience (patience, not everyone has it ..lol). The only hard part is lifting the screen up from there, just remove the 2 screws holding the metal plate above the battery connector. Once you remove the screws and metal plate, disconnect the battery connector with some thing plastic. Please try to avoid using any type of metal to disconnect Anything as metal can do more harm than good that's why I suggest a plastic pry tool. After the battery has been disconnected leave it for 10-30 seconds and reconnect. Don't forget to put the screws back in place and pop the screen back in place before Turing it on. As you can see my iphone came back on after manually disconnected the battery. Don't forget to like and subscribe if you found this video helpful.

Hey friend. Mine doesn't power on after disconnecting battery off and on, or testing with another battery. I replaced the screen turn it on works, after awhile I turn it off. When all assembled it wont power on again. I don't get vibration when I power on.

yes, the silver plate is there to protect the connector's from popping off if the device was to take a hit/Bump.

I had just replaced my battery because battery drains fast and after a weak it shut down same as what happen to you then i go to a technician they replace the battery and it happen again they say maybe something is wrong with the system already
arman dominic dalangin sounds like a bad motherboard, I’ve only seen it happen with a iPhone 7 but I’ve managed to get it working again. What I did was I restored the device to factory settings with iTunes (data has been backed up) and I updated it to the lasted version (11.2.2), when setting up device, restore with the back up you have. After doing this, I then replaced the battery with a new one (I have a test battery on hand to power it up), so far the phone is working just fine. Please note, this may not work for you as all phones are different but it’s worth a try. The reason it’s doing that could be 2 things, some software updates could corrupt the system so a restore is needed or the item has previously been dropped or taken a hit and corrupted the system. When item has been dropped or taken a good hit, might be one the lucky ones and had a fuse blown (fuse/chip). If that’s the case Then a new motherboard is needed.

Hey Pedro quick question... my phone will not start up it shows the dead battery whenever I connect it to the charger . I’ll leave it charging but nothing happens .. any ideas? I just think it weird because only the dead battery sign shows
if the battery symbol just shows up but doesn't power on, it's safe to say there may be a battery issue. Further testing would have to be done to confirm this, this is just a opinion that i have, the issue could also be a hardware issue. From my previous experience, its usually a bad battery that doesn't hold a charge (hence why its not turning on).

jericho shauf if the battery still functional (can still hold power) then yes, there is a chance this can work. If the battery is completely dead, then you will need a new battery.

It might be a dead battery. But I've seen posts that says Lithium ion batteries are like that when left dead for long. And there's way to Jumpstart them by heating. But i tried it too and doesn't work.
What might be the issue? Im sure its just the battery not being detected. I can't spend money right now because im shipping out to the navy bootcamp tomorrow.
just in case it isn't the battery, have you tried cleaning the charging port? i've had my fair share of cleaning charging ports, which seems to be the case 20% of the time.
Pedro pmj Martin yeah i was up all night trying to figure out everything. I used a dry toothbrush and also made sure there was no dirt by running compressed air. I checked the lightning port but it seems to be ok. No bent contacts or anything.
This has been dead for a few months so i know for a fact it has no charge at all. But also i do know once li-on batteries are dead o. Phones, they don't take charge anymore so im that point where im giving up already.
If i had more time I'd have it checked out but im leaving for bootcamp tomorrow and im out of cash too. Lol

I might have had a different problem, but, since I do not have the micro-star drives I had to try something different: I first removed my sim card for just a moment, and then I held the Home button, and then pushed and held the Sleep/Wake button. I can't say for sure I had the same problem, but I tried plugging in into the charger and got nothing, and then I tried plugging it into the PC and got nothing. If I had a micro star drive I for sure would have tried your solution. If anyone tried my idea, please let me know if it helps.
I've been reading other solutions and some say that the "Home and sleep button" thing works, but I'm pretty sure I tried that first. Anyways, if you try that and it doesn't work it can't hurt to try the sim card thing...

Please get back to me ASAP! So last night I came home from Hockey and my phone was at 1% i went to plug it in and it immediately died, so I tried plugging it in again and wouldn't work. I went to school and tried at least 4 or 5 different charges that my friends owned wouldn't work! My mom thinks it's because of the cracked screen I have.. Do you know why or how to fix?
Yes probably just bad battery, if not maybe the screen gave out. Try these options first to narrow down the problem.
Option 1:
Hold down the power and home button at the same time for about 10 seconds then let go, this is called a "soft reset. Nothing is deleted, it just reboots the phone.
Option 2:
If option 1 fails then connect to a pc/laptop and then try option 1 again (hold down power and home button for 10 seconds )
Option 3
Follow the steps in the video, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT YOU ARE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I will not be held liable for any Damages done. If you feel like you can't do it, I would recommend a cell phone repair shop. But by disconnecting the battery and connecting it again, it should work. Now if this doesn't work then it might be the battery that's bad, which might have to be replaced if these 3 options fail.
Sadly, options 1 and 2 didn't work, do you know the average cost of a simple repair like this at a Local Shop? or would it be easier just to do it yourself (note: I do not have any tools like the ones shown in video)

Of battery). A normal repair shop would charge between $50-$80 depending on where you take it. Apple is running a special on battery replacements for a limited time only for $30 if it's a battery issue
