Cochlear implants are different than hearing aids. While hearing aids help many people, they simply amplify sounds. When a crucial part of your inner ear isn’t working properly, you may notice you have trouble understanding sounds, such as birds singing and conversations, especially in noisy situations. As hearing loss progresses, sounds need to not only be made louder, they need to be made clearer. Cochlear implants can give you that clarity.
Cochlear implants are an established and effective treatment solution for moderate to severe sensorineural hearing loss. The Cochlear Nucleus System mimics the natural hearing function of the inner ear to make sounds louder and clearer. A cochlear implant bypasses the damaged part of the ear so sounds are better understood in both noisy and quiet environments, enabling you to hear everything from conversations in noisy restaurants to leaves rustling in the wind.
As the global leader in implantable hearing solutions, Cochlear is dedicated to bringing the gift of sound to people with moderate to profound hearing loss. Can I ask questions? I have a cochlear implant living with the nucleus 22 . I need to know how long nucleus 8 will become compatible with the nucleus 22 thank you ❤

Hello David, thank you for reaching out to us today! We remain committed to our earliest recipients and continue to work to make new technologies available to them. Similar to other processor launches, Nucleus 8 Sound Processor is not currently compatible with the Nucleus 22 Cochlear Implant. The timeframe for compatibility with the Nucleus 22 implant depends on research and development timelines, manufacturing processes and regulatory approvals.

@CochlearAmericas thank you . I appreciate that I will have to wait until the new upgrade processor, when available, compatible with the nucleus 22 in the future? Cheerful 😊
